Renegade Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 What *I* would do and what a political party could get away with are two completely different things. That would suggest that there is something wrong in a system that motivates a political party to act against the long term interest of the country. Maybe, but with what we've seen in the past strong public opinion against even studying two tier health care systems, I'm skeptical. Imagine if a party announced they were going to modernize, i.e.: cut, retiree benefits, ughh. Quote
William Ashley Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 Immigrtion is bs.. let anyone in on a bond that pays for their return airfare. Give them no services and let anyone work, take it from there. Quote I was here.
CANADIEN Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 I think you should get over your fixation with skin pigmentation. It doesn't say anything flattering about you.[\quote] This coming from someone who single out non-Whites on a ruglar basis for whatever thing you don't like in society. Too bad, because your thread is one case in which I agree (up to a point) with you. There is no justification in extending the family immigrant category. Not because the uncles, cousins etc, will be unskilled by definition (we never know that until we evaluate EACH INDIVIDUAL). But because skilled candidates for immigration should be able to stand on their own merit, not the presence of a family member. Of course, we should also admit on a TEMPORARY basis people who need medical treatment not available right now in Haiti. Quote
