Ontario Judge makes unprecedented ruling

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

A seven-year-old Toronto, Ontario boy was at the center of a Toronto city courtroom drama yesterday when he challenged a court ruling over who should have custody of him.

The boy has a history of being beaten by his parents & the judge initially awarded custody to his aunt, in keeping with child custody law & regulations requiring that family unity be maintained to the degree possible.

The boy surprised the court when he proclaimed that his aunt beat him more than his parents & he adamantly refused to live with her. When the judge then suggested that he live with his grandparents, the boy alleged they had also beat him.

After considering the remainder of the immediate family & learning that domestic violence was apparently a way of life among them, the judge took the unprecedented step of allowing the boy to propose who should have custody of him.

After two recesses to check legal references & confer with child welfare officials, the judge granted temporary custody to the Toronto Maple Leafs, whom the boy firmly believes are not capable of beating anyone."

Do we really want the Maple Leafs to get their hands on little boys?!

In a somewhat related story....

Scientists are predicting a colder than normal winter in Ontario. Apparently it's the result of a low-pressure zone which has been hovering over Southern Ontario, more specifically the Greater Toronto area, for some time now, and according to forecasts no change in this low-pressure zone is expected.

Further, these same scientists have come up with a probable cause for the ongoing low pressure zone.

Apparently it is the result of a localized vacuum effect.....caused by the Leafs sucking.

We're gonna have to choose our category carefully.

They lost again.

Last season was the season when the Leafs got their fans excited about losing, by saying that it was laying the groundwork for great scouting rather than for bad trades. So this year, we have no wins, no known players, the fans are dropping off like flies, and there are so many goalies that they need a separate Goalie bus...

Yeah, but on the bright side if they finish last, they can use their #1 draft pick to draft a future superstar!

..er, wait, what?

...

I'm being told that they have traded their #1 draft pick to Boston.

There is a long list of Leaf draft picks given away that were used by teams who drafted future superstars.

So really, the bright side is that there's no bright side? Am I getting this right?

They did in 1967.
