Another problem for the Ontario Libs and Dalton isn't looking as good as he did when he was first elected and it must be that the seating government relaxes too quickly when voted back in the second time around and this has happened to all parties. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/nation...article1278940/

I maintain that Dalton got elected the first time because he was set against the background of good old Mike Harris. The second time was because John Tory made the catholic education system the critical issue of the election. I've never seen him as a particularly great political leader. I'm not surprised at what I read. He's also failing at delivering some key issues like early childhood education and such. While also being a recent public school graduate I've seen first hand how they've ruined it. The problem remains though that neither the provincial conservatives or NDP are popular enough right now to seriously challenge the libs. so the problems that are persisting in our government aren't going to be resolved until either one can challenge our wonderful Dalton Mcguinty.

We shouldn't be too surprised when lawyers and failed golf professionals who turn to politics end up being not good enough. The most important role government serves today is as a service provider, delivering healthcare, social services, public works, justice and so forth. Yet we continually ignore the poor job they do, and in fact we aren't even curious as to the delivery of those services.

Dalton promised shorter waiting times 6 or 7 years ago, and hasn't delivered yet. When he tried to get it started with eHealth, (by hiring a top doctor to do it instead of the consulting firms that were capable) the only reason people noticed is because some overpaid consultant submitted an expense for tea.

This mess is our fault. If we Ontarians don't pay attention then we deserve what we get.

Right. What next, hockey players? Movie stars?

I'd call you right, Alex. Dalton is a dufus, but he's unimaginative enough to avoid doing much. That makes him a safer choice than the alternatives.

His government is a place to park the province until someone with good ideas comes along.

Dalton shouldn't even have been Premier. He is only there due to the huge blunder by Tory. No other reason. Tory was leading the polls by a good margin but screwed it all up. 3 more years until we have Tim Hudak as Premier, Thank God.
