jdobbin
Reuters is the only English media reporting this: http://www.reuters.com/article/marketsNews...738374920090807 Canada's separatist Bloc Quebecois party, which holds the balance of power in the federal Parliament, denied rumors on Friday that leader Gilles Duceppe will announce next week he plans to quit. It seems doubtful. I figure the next election will be Duceppe's last but to be honest, who knows?
August1991
I have seen no evidence of this in the French press. I have asked friends. Then again, maybe they and I are wrong. Link--- IMV, Duceppe made a fool of himself when he announced that he wanted to be PQ Leader, and then changed his mind 24 hours later. waldo
Duceppe quiting? Stephen Harper and the Conservatives worst nightmare as they look ahead to the fall election... no one to fill the Duceppe void... where will a significant number of those Quebec voters shift/align towards? Gee, that's a tough one! How desperate is Harper to attempt to keep Duceppe in the game?
