As as Tory supporter them, you should be upset that your party is making accusations.

Just as you are making accusations.

As i recall it was Fife who made the initial accusation.

Are you capable of letting something so mundane go.

And I asked who told him.

Are you capable of letting something so mundane go.

Are you incapable of admitting that the Tories are blaming Liberals for this even now?

There is a big difference between a church service and a funeral, a funeral brings people of all faith to morn the loss of a loved/respected individual, a church service brings the regular congregation.

So the snake charmer brings his boa to the service... I don't think so. When attending a funeral service for someone who's faith you know little about, your ignorance can carry you only so far. When you're the PM (with complete access to protocol officers), you're not carried an inch.

Lily, how could Harper put the host/wafer in his pocket if the priest first put the wafer/host on Harper's lips?

IOW, drop it, Lily. The news report was false. Harper never put the host/wafer in his pocket. The videowas one of those "UFO lights in the sky video".

From what I understand, in Harper's Protestant denomination, communion with a host is common. He is perfectly familiar with the ritual. I'm also sure that this is not the first time that Harper has assisted a Catholic mass. When he came forward to receive the host, Harper knew what he was doing.

Communion in the RC church is quite different from communion in most protestant churches.

I also didn't claim that the priest put the wafer in Harper's mouth.

In what video do you see the Priest going anywhere near Harpers mouth? The video clearly shows Harper taking it with his hand, and his hand going nowhere near his yap as he walks away. Is there another angle?
Gawd.... This will never end.

Shakey, I was responding to Lily's comment that usually in Catholic communion, the priest lays the host directyly on the person's lips. I don't know what happened in New Brunswick. As to the Youtube video, as I said, we have all seen UFO videos with lights in the sky. Unintended optical illusions occur.

I believe what I said was in teh Catholic communions I've seen. I'm not in a postion to say how it's usually done. I do know that none of the "body and blood" is to be wasted though.

I made the comment about placing it directly on the person's tongue (not lips) because of this... no crumbs, no waste. I wonder why Harper didn't eat it right away. THat seems odd... when everyone else would have been.

I'll rise, but I won't shine.

Liberals tend to use their heads more. Because that's what people in the centre do: think.

I did find evidence that Liberals do think. At least their leader does, provided it's raining.

“The only good thing I can say about bad weather and lots of rain is it allows me to sit at home and think thoughts here,” he said. “We're getting policy together. We've got an ambitious policy agenda for Canadians to present in the fall.”

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/politi...article1235216/

This would explain why the Liberal policy plan was not ready by June as required by Ignatieff. Not enough rain.

The policy platform agenda was to be delivered by the end of June to party headquarters. It was. The party leader and caucus now need to decide whether it will be released to public over the course of an election or during a legislative session.

Do you think the caucus and leader will accept what was submitted without any tweaking?

I think that tweak is a very mild description for what will happen. Iggy will have had some influence, but the party writes policy at least until he forms a government.

I think most of the tweaking has happened before it even arrived at party headquarters.

For example, some of the more experimental resolutions at conventions such as legalization of prostitution are not going to be in the policy platform.

So you are enjoying making a mockery of the senators funeral? If I was his family I would be very Po'd at people like you, you are showing very little respect to the family and the deceased. It is a minor inconsequential detail, it not as if Haper was at the Vatican receiving communion from the Pope in some special service. This was a funeral, and its not as if the preist of the funeral was upset by this, just some foaming mouth partisan hacks that are making issue of this. You and everyone else needs to let it go, you are showing yourselves to be vapid. If these are the issues you focus on then you are a very petty and vane individual.

The Tories are coming out in their fundraising campaign and saying the Liberals are responsible.

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/politi...article1239600/

In his latest appeal, Mr. Finley accuses the Liberals of an “unprincipled attack,” alleging they leaked incorrect information to a New Brunswick newspaper that resulted in a story about Stephen Harper pocketing a communion wafer at the state funeral of former governor-general Romeo LeBlanc.

Last week, the newspaper issued a front-page apology, and both the editor and publisher left the paper.

“What's worse, the Liberals have refused to deny that they were behind the manufactured story,” writes Mr. Finley in his letter that was sent last Friday. He adds that there is “no respite” from the Liberals' “attempts to smear Stephen Harper.”

“This controversy demonstrates that the Liberals will do anything to get back into power … we need to have the resources necessary to fight back and defend both our Prime Minister and our record in government,” he writes.

As the article states, the Tories campaign for funds is about anger and grievances.

It doesn't matter if they can give evidence for their claims. It is red meat thrown to the base.

I'd love them to name someone like Kinsella. Lifesite news is now facing his lawyers.

That seems to be the norm in politics today - sue or threaten to sue. Since many Liberal MP's are lawyers, I'm sure it's not hard to find a pal to run with it. This one's interesting because it's just so obvious that a Liberal connection is there.

Harper has set the standard for going top court.

Tories should name who they think is responsible and put this in the courts if they feel confident. They won't though. They'll demur.

If liberals feel so wronged why aren't they going after Fife?

They don't have to. It's such an obvious story that it will be pursued and break on its own.

Probably because Fife has not made that claim again in public. He can see the writing on the wall.

He said it and he reaches more people then lifestyle or whatever they are called, or is liberals will only go after the small fish because they don't want to face the ctv legal team?

Why would I need to find out, or are you just hoping to silence opposition through law suits?

In this country you can't even opine without a lawsuit brought against you, just ask Mark Styen. You seem to relish the lawsuits, why?

I don't see him suing media outlets do you? He brought lawsuits against the liberal party and liberal Mps, I don't see the liberal party sueing the conservative party or individual mps.
