ISO 2009

Did you mean ISO 9001-2000, or perhaps ISO 14001? What the hell is ISO 2009?

We are in 2009.

Do you have the faintest idea what the hell you are talking about?

I know a lot about unions.

But not, apparently, about ISO.

Union is the topic.

You're the one who brought up ISO. Another "Mystery Men" post.

He's a slight bit inane at times.

Unions are an option for workers in this country, its up to them.

Unfortunately this isn't necessarily true. A worker doesn't have a choice on if to join a union or not. If a worker doesn't want to join a union but enough co-workers do, he will be forced to join regardless of his wishes.

At least in some states, workers have a choice. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Right-to-work_law

Rights to work mean nothing if one doesn't have the right not to work.

Of course everyone has the right not to work if they so choose as there is no law permitting slavery. Of course by choosing not to work the forgo the benefit of working (ie renumeration).

Correct good sir.

If you get hired on as a warehouseman here at my distro center, you have no choice but to be part of the union. Unless you are looking for a management job which is not unionized, but the again, if you are applying as a warehousman ... hehe.

There can be no benefit of being employed if one cannot negotiate his/her compensation.

Who/what prevents one from negotiating his/her compensation?

Our body has two hands to grab food.

How is this food to magically appear?
