Interesting. So what woudl be your recommendation on how to make government more efficient?

It's really quite simple.

Canada needs a Libertarian party to fracture the rightwing and give rational capitalists a party other than the Neo-Cons to vote for.

There should be 3 parties in Canada..

Left/NDP --- Center/LIBERALS --- Right/LIBERTARIAN

There shouldn't even BE a Canadian Neo-Con party as we have under Harper.

Canada should seek out a Ron Paul of the North to advocate a sane set of social and foreign policies.

If you have the energy, you ahould try to start it ASAP, before Harper gets a Majority.

What the nation needs is a united political will. To do that you have to at least address the apathy because that is the largest single demographic in the land. To tap into that entity some form of beneficial vision for the nation must be formulated and promoted. I am not talking about something as simple as platforms and policies but instead an entire ideology.

I will suggest that this be based on a concept that incorporates a wide range of popular themes that are already present within our society but are unrepresented or at least under-represented in current political terms. Something must be found to have mass appeal, a means of delivering hope to citizens currently in need and a way of providing a very positive direction for the future.

All I can suggest is some form of infrastructure program that provides employment, investment opportunities, and delivers a product much in demand.

People are money - and the current that is currencey - is a thing called good will and benevolence...happy people create wealth and stability - sounds like you are looking for a way to establish a new culture...you won't get that culture as long as rich people believe that culture is the stangling of a song bird - that emits a sound they call opera..

I don't view citizens as property, nor do I view time as money. That is an entire foreign concept to me. I am not in business, I work for someone else. Even so, I don't think ill of those more affluential or influential than myself. Most of the rich folk I know are business owners who have worked long and hard to get where they are. Not a single one of them wants to see anyone get hurt over anything, and none of them take pleasure in the problems of others.

Je suis bien familier avec la langue de Voltaire mon petit con. Tu parles de ta matrise de plusieurs langues mais ton père n'a pu s'acharné à la voix de ses proches. Pourquoi? Peut-être il y avait un parti de ton père qui disait "What do I need this for, I already speak white."

I don't have the time or inclination to school you on the notion of speaking white and its implications around the globe. Nor do I have the time to spell out how language is indemic to culture and that any measure that would marginalize a language is an assult on those who speak it and a warning to sign for others who don't.

What I do have time for is to point out that you speak without facts and don't have a clue what you are talking about. How much do we stand to save from junking LINC? Come on, give us the numbers.

As for LINC, if they're paying, I'd already said I was willing to reconsider it if you had read my post.

As for making the recommendation to the UN, you still haven't answered my question. Do you support making all the world's languages at the UN official so as to not 'marginalize a language'? If so, where will we get the funds when the UN General Assembly alone spends an estimated 12 million dollars a year on translation and interpretation just for two languages (this is just for General Assembly meetings, not other UN work)?

And if not, then why do you support matginalizing all but 6 world languages? Would it not be more fair to develop an easy one that all can agree to rather than impose difficult languages on the rst, thus giving native speakers of those 6 a privileged position?

Just go to the UN website and see if you could get anything from it if you knew none of those 6.

You're taking your 'White' for granted there it seems.

I've sometimes wondered about the value of voting when parties have essentially highjacked the system. I've considered voting independent if a good one comes alon, but we don't even have independents. Let's go non-partisan, and that might push partisanship out of the way to develop a political will.
