maplesyrup Posted April 4, 2004 Report Posted April 4, 2004 CTV Question Period political play of the week And this weeks winner is PM Martin as he labels the new Conservatives as the Alliance Conservatives. August1991 Posted April 5, 2004 Report Posted April 5, 2004 scandals - pierre seveigny - gerta M, how long ago?Sorry, I don't get the connection to the thread. But to answer your question, the two slept together almost 35 years ago. Then, almost 30 years ago, a Toronto Star reporter tracked Gerda down and the Liberals dredged it up. The ladies man Sevigny (or is that lady's man? - what a quaint expression anyway) just died (I couldn't get a parking spot that morning because of the funeral.) CBC did a Munich apartment interview with Munsinger before she died several years ago. I wonder if the two had good sex at least? Or if they ever spoke afterwards? Sic tempus fugit. BTW, the funeral was impressive - or at least the attendees needed a lot of parking spaces. Quote
Dennis Posted April 5, 2004 Report Posted April 5, 2004 Harldy a 'Play of the Week'. Just Craig Oliver's dream-fulfillment. Paul Martin is acting just like the Cornered Rat Stephen Harper had said he would be. Martin's all over the place. And this lame tactic is yet the latest example of it. PS. Is it me? Or has that show, CTV's Question Period, been lacking polish ever since it started with the new format with Oliver? Quote
maplesyrup Posted April 5, 2004 Author Report Posted April 5, 2004 Bot Craig and John, the hosts are very boring. They need new blood. Duffy too, fawning all over Martin. Sickening. Martin did score though Quote An education isn't how much you have committed to memory, or even how much you know. It's being able to differentiate between what you do know and what you don't. Dennis Posted April 5, 2004 Report Posted April 5, 2004 Bot Craig and John, the hosts are very boring. They need new blood. Duffy too, fawning all over Martin. Sickening. Martin did score though My problem isn't so much with the hosts except that they aren't polished broadcasters (and Craig Oliver is, well, Craig Oliver). For that matter, neither do the people behind the scenes seem to be. The editing is poor, the flow bad, and the overall presentation lacking any kind of edge. They came out with this new format a couple of years ago (I think). Ed Greenspon was Oliver's sidekick then. And I don't think they've ever put it together well. From my standpoint, they're in need of another overhaul. I kind of liked it when Duffy hosted the show. But I was young then. Quote
willy Posted April 5, 2004 Report Posted April 5, 2004 Alliance Conservatives, I like it. An emerging party that in a few years went from nothing to the official opposition and the tradition of the founding party sounds like a powerful mix. A little wisdom with a little innovation will make the best alternative to the old, scandal ridden Liberals. Quote
