Oleg Bach Posted February 16, 2009 Report Posted February 16, 2009 Is it my imagination or is there a trend going on in the last ten years where there seems to be a slow extinction of signators taking place? If you got a legal document there was always a signator - the human hand would hold the black inked pen and scratch the paper to make it offical - and to let all know that the person stood behind the communication. There was brave 100% commitment of an individual - his word was first and only second was his written word - his name! There seems to be an incrimental trend taking place where people do not want to be held accountable or liable for anything --- no one signs anything anymore..why? Quote

Well...use to be that people couldn't read or write...so theys just made their "mark". But signatures of real import required a witness and/or notary endorsement. Either way, there are attorneys on both sides of a dispute to fight it out and take all the money. If it makes you feel better, the US Navy still requires many thousands of signatures each day in operations logs....how quaint! Quote Economics trumps Virtue.

Shut up ----- I know what it is - your signature looks like chicken scratches...where as mine is very classy and my script is extemely offical looking not to mention absolutely grand. ......you don't need an endorsement...or a witness - your word and your mark should be enough in the days of noble attribution and galantry --- I stick to my premise - no one wants to put a personal mark on anything...because they have no honor ---- I was just on my old sight - the American one...that I posted on before I arrived here ------I use my real name...If you can not put up - shut up...you either put your word on the line or you hide - behind and electronic alias - or you stand up and say ----Here I am! Damn it I feel tough today. Quote

Yah it's a big prickish display of very nice curves and dashing dashes...no - I keep everything inside the box - I must be proper - once I sent off a document to the high courts and my brother who was in charge started singing the circus theme tune --- you know the one when the midget rides the little motor bike - he made me redue it ....The Marine Corps. and honor....I was just looking at an avitar on an American site...It was a picture of the bare back of a kneeling service man - on his back was tatooed "Death before dishonor" - the poor guy in such a depressed posture that the herald on his back sent out the message of pure irony...it was sad to see one of the noble marshall class stooped to sorrow because of the dishonor inflicted on him by men without grace - by his commander and chief and company..very sad - I want to weep for this soldier. Most guys at least that I know of who were signing or initialing paperwork on a daily basis wound up with signatures that look like crap.
