bush_cheney2004 Posted January 9, 2009 Report Posted January 9, 2009 (edited) AND ACQUITTED BY THE SENATE on February 12, 1999. So no wrong doing. You still don't get it....he was impeached. I don't think you understand the concept. ..he was also disbarred in lower courts and the USSC for lying under oath. Edited January 9, 2009 by bush_cheney2004 Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
punked Posted January 9, 2009 Author Report Posted January 9, 2009 You still don't get it....he was impeached. I don't think you understand the concept. I understand when you control the Senate you get a bunch of people to trump up charges vote on it. It goes to a Senate trial nothing comes of it, and it is a big waste of time and money. I get it see. Quote

No you don't....the articles of impeachment are drafted by the House...the trial is in the Senate. No matter the outcome of the trial, President Clinton will forever be impeached. Has nothing to do with time or money.....history will record that he was only the second president ever impeached. It's kind of a big deal down here..... Quote Economics trumps Virtue.

I don't think History cares in the last election Clinton was on the campaign trail doing his thing with no harm to Obama. History might remember Newt Gingrich and a lame duck congress bringing down articles of impeachment on a President who is viewed as better then average. Quote

punked Posted January 9, 2009 Author Report Posted January 9, 2009 Perfect.....just like Carter today? That's not saying much. It is saying a lot. You don't get to through out numbers because the majority of people are against what you think. Quote

They wont now he holds the record for the highest disapproval rating and I think the lowest average. Unlike Jimmy Carter BTW, but not unlike Nixon and his Father. Quote

punked Posted January 9, 2009 Author Report Posted January 9, 2009 Yeah...President Lincoln presided over a civil war that killed 600,000 Americans. Shucks! Sure did but he is remembered for keeping the country together. If Bush can pull that off good for him. Quote

punked Posted January 9, 2009 Author Report Posted January 9, 2009 And that will be determined long after he rides off into the sunset. I agree. You keep spinning so people remember him for the "great" things he did. I will spin the other way. We will meet somewhere in the middle. Ask yourself if Carter was such a bad president why is he remembered and ranked as average? SPIN SPIN SPIN! Quote

Carter was crucified for failing on both domestic and foreign policy. He did not use the power of his office.
