Tory MP Rod Brinooge abortion bill

Recommended Posts

No, we go back to traditional family values and moral living. We go back to living a clean life and not partaking in massive drug and alcohol abuses. We go back to teaching no sex before marriage in public schools. We go back to actually parenting our kids and not letting the TV and Xbox do the job. We go back to letting kids be kids and not grow up so fast.

It all sounds very nice. Sadly, I don't think any legislation can force people to be better parents.

In the Spring or Summer I'll be setting up outside an Abortion Clinic using enlarged graphic Images. I'll also be planning to use comments made here on MLW. I plan to let the Pro-Choicers know so that they show up and in turn the media will be there as well. It's going to be a war.

I think you're setting yourself up for a huge disappointment.

I walked past a hospital just a couple of weeks ago and there were crusaders just like yourselves marching up and down the street with their signs and billboards ("a full classroom died here today", and so forth...) and you know, MC, I didn't see a war anywhere. I didn't see pro-choicers fighting with them. I didn't see news teams covering the action. I didn't see much of anything going on, aside from a handful of people marching up and down the street with signs. I just ignored them, like every other person. There was simply nothing going on.

No one would have stopped the Vietnam war were it not for the pictures.

The war lost support when people decided to step up front publicly and express their views. When will you stop being anonymous? Stand up and be proud.

I'm not speaking of legislation to be better parents, I'm speaking of common sense here.

I'm going to be doing something quite different. I assure you that the news will show up if all goes as planned. It's going to be very graphic with real blood and everything. I have some friends who will be getting me some blood for the event. I'm not talking about a dozen people on a sidewalk testifying...lol. It'll be the biggest Pro Life Protest in Canada for a longtime.

You can start by publicly revealing who you are so we can see who the new leader of the Pro-Life movement is. Why so shy?

I'm not the leader but will be directly involved in protecting women and babies from the heartless socialists who would rather see the babies die.

Can you give a year range during which you think all this was being done basically right? What time, exactly, do you want to go back to?

Because it seems pretty clear that you don't want to go back to some earlier time. You want to go sideways, into TV-Tropolis, where it's always Little House on the Prairie, and Half-Pint's only going to cuddle with Manly after they're married, and neither Ma nor Pa drinks nor beats the crap out of the kids or each other, and the kids don't work long hours from the time they're eight years old, and marriage isn't the outcome of pregnancy rather than vice-versa...

I mean, if you're going to crusade with your Big Plan For How We Should Live, shouldn't you have at least some small fraction of a clue first? The past you're raving about -- did it ever actually exist, or did you dream it with the help of TV, movies, and various literal and figurative sermons?

Just because you may not have been raised properly and the idea is foreign to you doesn't mean everyone was raised without morals or ethical values.

No, no -- I didn't ask for a goofy evasion. Just a year range. Let's have it, now: 1400-1600? 1850-1890? 1935-1950? You're the one who's full of big claims about what we have to go back to. Sure, sign me up! Just as soon as you tell me when we're going back to, so I can investigate a bit and find out just what these "family values" you're burbling about really amounted to.

And if there's no such time -- if it's just a vaguely imagined article of faith you've internalized from one too many AM radio drive-time talk shows -- shouldn't you be keen to discover this and lose your delusions? It's win-win!

So... what's the time you want to go back to?

I'm speaking of a time when there were more people who subscribed to living properly and things were simple. After WWII it started going down hill after the 60's it really went south. So lets say something like 1890-1958. That would be ideal. Everyone knew their place and didn't get out of line. The family unit was strong as was the influence of the Church on the community. There was no TV to brainwash our kids. Teachers weren't too socialist. Life was good.

So do you want the period before women had the right to vote? Apparently the period before "THE PILL". And a time when women couldn't get a divorce, the government lived in our bedrooms and it was ok to beat the hell out of a women after a good hard nights drinking.

After WWII it started going down hill after the 60's it really went south. So lets say something like 1890-1958. That would be ideal. Everyone knew their place and didn't get out of line. Mr. Canada, Socialism had been ripe for over 100 years, but the new Liberalism that came with the swinging 60s just wasn't Tommy Douglas. It was Pierre Trudeau.

See, Tommy Douglas was probably more of the person you are describing then any Conservative of the eras, short of some of the prohibitionists.

All those social structures made life better to create that Ozzie and Harriet feel you so desire. Yes Socialism helped provide those good lifes, something that hadn't happened in anytime prior in Canadian history. The end of the exploitation of labour with pay for a person to feed their family and spend time at home.

Sorry to say but those days are gone, much like the level of unionization and socialism that existed in that era.

We are moving away from that type of society for one that requires both members to work hard and bring home enough money that would equal one paycheck from 10 or even 15 years ago. It's hard to know your place, when you are running in and out of the house and juggling between two or 3 part-time or part and fulltime jobs.

I can't ever recall meeting an abundance of Socialist Teachers. You sound more socialist then the teachers i grew up with.

Infact, I have never seen or heard of Socialism being taught in school. Never had my Sons, Nieces, Nephew ever heard of Karl Marx..... and those that followed, let alone some Socialist principles of Sir John A MacDonald, MacKenzie King, John Diefenbaker who might well be called a Socialist Conservative.

Even after Douglas, or some say with the advent of NDP that Socialism took a back seat to market capitalism and getting a piece of the pie. Bread and butter economics and power and wealth and greed, which has lead us to today.

And this anamoly abortion bill..... and the current "socialists"

But no NDP MP would be expelled from caucus for holding anti-abortion views, Ms. Mathyssen said. "We have a policy where we talk things through," she said.

From Victoria to 'Leave it to Beaver...

Quite the goal to aim for.

'The good old days' never really were all that good.

The Good Old Days.

1) Women couldn't drive

2) Women couldn't vote

You can find these and many more nostagic "good old days" in current Jurassic Park Locations like...

Saudi Arabia.

Don't know their position on abortion though.

Still, I'm sure everyone wants to know the name to look for when the media reports this event. Time to step out from behind the curtain.

Please make sure you are very clear in your support of Steven Harper and his Conservative party. Tell everyone that if they just give the Conservatives a majority abortion legislation will be introduced as a private member's bill for a free vote. Maybe you could put up a few conservative signs around and wear a blue sweatervest? Please?

Maybe it isn't a curtain, but instead a closet door...

Are you hinting that Mr Canada might be supporting the conservatives and catholics to help him hide something about himself in the closet? I wonder if he closed his eyes when getting his fellatio from loose women and imagined a little mustache rub? Or ...since he is much more assured of the cleanliness of penis's over vaginas...... mysogeny, apparent homophopia, hmmmm I wonder how deep Mr Canada's closet really is?

Christians will always be made the targets of the masses ridicule as is stated in the Bible. The more you attack me the closer I am to living like Jesus Christ.

The masses in this country are Christian, you twit. Nothing is more dishonest and pathetic than the standard "I'm a persecuted Christian" in a country like Canada. Move to frickin Iran and then what you're saying won't be a pile of horsecrap, but around here it's completely hollow. If you think you're bigotry can be hidden behind this facade of Christian righteousness, then you really do think we're a pack of morons.

Quite the goal to aim for.

'The good old days' never really were all that good.

In the "good old days" pregnant teenage girls were forced to marry. In the "good old days" either you had a caring and understanding doctor who would perform an abortion secretly, or girls would go to the infamous "back alley" abortionists. In the "good old days", premarital sex happened despite all of this, because the "good old days" are lies and fantasies concocted by a pack of bigoted social reactionaries.

Jesus didn't hide in the shadows. Nor did his followers. Time to announce who you are.

I've offered to meet you face to face, more than once,if you want to know who I am but you're too scared. Change the record. Ah nvm, you live in the 'Peg.

I'll be easy to pick out at the demo in the New Year. I'll be the guy speaking.

Send me an email and I'll be there this week. I'd love to see who is going to be part of the biggest Pro-Life force in Canada.

Why so shy now? Did Jesus hide his identity and call himself Fred?

You say this because you fear my words. You must see me as a threat or else everyone would judty ignore me but everyone responds to me therefore giving what I say credibility. You have encouraged me, thank you sir.

A majority of Canadians support Government regulation of abortion as shown in this poll from 2007.
