jbg Posted December 14, 2008 Report Posted December 14, 2008 I have a mortage 1/3 the value of my house. I pay my bills in full every month. I drive a year 2000 Toyota with 104,000 miles on it. I live within my means and have real problems with the idea of people who won't even talk to me since I'm not successful enough shaking a tin cup, to keep up their appearances and lifestyle. Let them live the way everyone else does. [/ rant] Quote Free speech: "You can say what you want, but I don't have to lend you my megaphone." Oleg Bach Posted December 14, 2008 Report Posted December 14, 2008 The better ones at the top live simple lives - its the ambitious middle uppper management that went nuts..make sure that they are at the welfare office with me on Monday morning. Don't blame those that worked hard and created a system so vast and complex that it became unmanageable...those did there best - they simply lost control. Shit happens. Would you want to be tied to your desk in an office tower because you knew you could not retire because the young lunitics in middle upper management would rape the nation if you did not keep and eye on them? Don't blame our senior executives...blame the crazed upstarts. Quote
bush_cheney2004 Posted December 14, 2008 Report Posted December 14, 2008 From Goodfellas: ...The hardest thing was to leave the life. I love the life. We were treated like movie stars with muscle. We had it all. Our wives, mothers, kids, everybody rode along. I had bags filled with jewelry stashed in the kitchen. I had a bowl of coke next to the bed. People call them rats because they will do anything to survive. - Objection! - Objection sustained. - I know nothing about being a rat. - You know everything about it! Anything I wanted was a phone call away. Free cars. Keys to a dozen hideouts all over the city. I'd bet 10 grand over a weekend... ...then blow the winnings in a week or go to sharks to pay the bookies. Didn't matter. It didn't mean anything. When I was broke I would go rob some more. We ran everything. We paid off cops. We paid off lawyers. We paid off judges. Everybody had their hands out. Everything was for the taking. And now it's all over. That's the hardest part. Today everything is different. There's no action. I have to wait around like everyone else. Can't even get decent food. After I got here I ordered spaghetti with marinara sauce... ...and I got egg noodles with ketchup. I'm an average nobody. I get to live the rest of my life like a schnook. Sir Bandelot Posted December 14, 2008 Report Posted December 14, 2008 (edited) Great one!!! Yeah I watched some of it last night. Cry me a river... One can learn to be satisfied with less, and still live a good and honorable life. All else is disease. Edited December 14, 2008 by Sir Bandelot Quote
Oleg Bach Posted December 14, 2008 Report Posted December 14, 2008 Yeah I watched some of it last night. Cry me a river... One can learn to be satisfied with less, and still live a good and honorable life. All else is disease. A clean bed...Food - a woman beside you that is loving and loyal and has faith in you - what's the price of that? Priceless! And yes all else is disease and useless worry...Funny thing is - I seem to have more control and order in my life with less money...I would rather have law and order than cash and chaos. Quote

Oleg Bach Posted December 14, 2008 Report Posted December 14, 2008 A communist idea... Communists don't have ideas they destroy ideas. If you have a good idea someone might have to give you credit and reward for it. Communist never give credit to the individual - just the "common good" - That's why without a reward system for the individual, individuals clam up and only contribute the least as possible to survive. Ideas come with free thought and reward. The communist mind out laws the human mind...no thinking allowed please. Quote
