jdobbin Posted December 1, 2008 Report Posted December 1, 2008 http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/stor...?hub=TopStories As Prime Minister Stephen Harper battles a political coup from a potential opposition coalition, two mysterious websites suggest -- or are intended to suggest -- that he may also be facing a mutiny from within. Two websites have gone online in the past three days pushing for a new Conservative leader to replace Harper, with one site supporting Environment Minister Jim Prentice and the other supporting Transport Minister John Baird. The websites, Conservatives for Prentice and Draft John Baird for Conservative Party Leader allege to be grassroots organizations and are quick to point out that neither is endorsed by the Conservative MPs in question. And so it begins... Quote

noahbody Posted December 1, 2008 Report Posted December 1, 2008 The website claims to be under the copyright of an organization called Conservatives for Change. The organization does not have a working website. Both websites are registered under other domains, meaning that their owners cannot be found under a whois.net web search. Conservativesforchange.com was registered by the ad agency Deutsch inc. in L.A. It's a pro Obama group. Somehow I doubt they're involved. Likely the same Liberal staffers who were behind the vote for anyone but harper sites. That's my guess. Quote

Should have figured that the Liberals would get the blame for this. Quote
fellowtraveller Posted December 1, 2008 Report Posted December 1, 2008 Blame? I think 'credit' is the better word. The Liberals can't afford much, and anonymous websites are cheap to set up and run. Well done to your colleagues for getting some bang for their buck. Sorry, I meant bang for our buck since the taxpayers fund it all . Quote The government should do something.

Thats awsome the Tories try and sabotage Obama's campain they now come to Sabotage the tories. Gotta love justice. I hope Harper does prorogue till Obama is president he will hold allot of influence in Canadians decision, Like Obama said what the Tories did " was very, very stupid on their part" Edited December 1, 2008 by johhny Quote
jdobbin Posted December 1, 2008 Author Report Posted December 1, 2008 Sorry, I meant bang for our buck since the taxpayers fund it all . The Western Standard seems to think it is legit. But if it helps you to think the Liberals are that nimble at setting this up, by all means. Quote
noahbody Posted December 1, 2008 Report Posted December 1, 2008 Thats awsome the Tories try and sabotage Obama's campain they now come to Sabotage the tories. Gotta love justice. Conservatives for Change is just a brand name. They were supporting Obama, not sabotaging his campaign. Here's their ad. http://www.adweek.com/aw/creative/ad-of-th...eativeId=269882 It's similar to the facebook tactic where Liberal staffers positioned themselves as upset voters. Quote
noahbody Posted December 1, 2008 Report Posted December 1, 2008 Please. Should have figured that the Liberals would get the blame for this. As I said in another post, it is similar to the facebook tactic the Liberals used, which I'm sure you'll agree was dishonest. The Tories are far from perfect in this regard as well. Quote
madmax Posted December 1, 2008 Report Posted December 1, 2008 A press release was sent out by the John Baird website claiming that it is supported by a "group composed (of) over nearly 100 members from across the country, including two (2) Members of Parliament and one (1) Senator - who have requested (to) remain anonymous." Quote
Jack Weber Posted December 2, 2008 Report Posted December 2, 2008 The Tories would do themselves a huge national favour in having Prentice as leader. It's time for the Cons to understand what the word "comprimise" means. Baird is a Harris right wing ideologue. Quote The beatings will continue until morale improves!!!
Smallc Posted December 2, 2008 Report Posted December 2, 2008 Apparently, some Conservatives weren't even clapping for the Prime Minister today. Quote

ThatGuy Posted December 2, 2008 Report Posted December 2, 2008 I think that anyone could be supported other than those that served in any way, shape, or form with Mike Harris. Quote
Bryan Posted December 2, 2008 Report Posted December 2, 2008 These sites are obviously Liberal disinformation campaigns. Baird? Come on. Quote
