Topaz Posted November 22, 2008 Report Posted November 22, 2008 Just before the election Harper was able to lose the weight he had gained probably from the medication he was taking and I also noticed a change with his hair colour. I believe he was born blonde and his hair darken as he got older but now I see he changing it to a "salt&pepper" or more gray and he'll probably have silver or white hair by the time he leaves office. I don't think he looks at good with the new hair colour and most people born blonde can't go to a silver colour because their natural grey hair are really gold. I'm sure he decided this because more of the leaders do have salt&pepper colour or silver. Harper just to turn 50 and he has too much of a baby face to look mature and distinguish. As a Canadian, I worry more about how his brain functions than his looks. Quote

munkless Posted November 22, 2008 Report Posted November 22, 2008 Good lord If you call criticizing Harper's hair a personal attack, then man, get out of the playground. Secondly, this is a private citizen, not a political leader or a political party that is making this so-called attack. Hell, I've never seen the Liberals or NDP get animated birds to crap on other political leaders, nor have I seen them make fun of physical disablities like the Conservatives have. In fact, the few times the Liberals have made gaffs like that, they've dropped the candidate like a hot potato. The Conservatives, on the other hand take a more lighthanded approach. They simply brush it off or apologize and tell everyone to move on. I still recall that ad by the conservatives where they did a slow motion close up of Chretien's face and essentially said 'do you want a guy who looks like this leading this country?'. I'd laugh at how juvenile they are, if this was the schoolyard. Now I just shake my head and hope that people smarten up and move on. m Quote

Really, didn't Dion comment on Harper being overweight? In fact, the few times the Liberals have made gaffs like that, they've dropped the candidate like a hot potato. Is that a fact. I could have sworn a Chretien aide called the leader of our largest trading partner a "moron" and Chretien brushed it off. And then there was Carolyn Parrish. I still recall that ad by the conservatives where they did a slow motion close up of Chretien's face and essentially said 'do you want a guy who looks like this leading this country?' Do you recall that Harper was running against that party, which no longer exists by the way? Quote
goner Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 Ah yes, it is the same world wide. Con's are juvinile and overly partisan. Con's usually herald from rural areas where their exposure to all things sophisticated is nil. Just look at the members of each party. Con's look like they're in a time warp. It is a party made up primarily of bitter grey haired men. They are reverse snobs, distrustful of anyone who isn't just like them, a bumpkin. This is usually expressed by the *conservitive sneer*. Being a fat slob is no more a physical disabilty than being a drug addict is. It is a weakness of character. I get so sick of fat pieces of shit who want to sit on their high horses and lecture others about restraint. If you are a fat slob, eat less, if your life is going down the shitter because you spend every minute thinking about how to achieve the next high, its time to cut back on the party favours. Stop phuckin crying about your "disabilities and hardships, and take some damn personal responsibility for your choices. Quote

Amen brother! I live in bumkinville by choice, love the country life, but There are an awful lot of folk out here in the country that would love to legislate their ignorant points of view. I live in James Bezan's riding, and the guy belongs in a movie about swamp people, playing a banjo and flossing his tooth every christmas. I would sure like to see his ignorant ass booted out next election. he was part of the in out scheme to the tune of 20,000 dollars, but he didn't like me reminding the voters of that during the election. Interesting that you would think that Conservatives are made up primarily of bitter grey-haired men. The Conservatives are acually the youngest party by a significant margin with an average age of 50.25. Liberals are at 51.83, NDP at 52.27 and finally the Bloc at 53.02. Average age of all MPs is 51.42. You're new.....it usually takes some time for new posters to learn to do their research. You'll find that your arguments bear more weight with facts. Cite me references where the CPC and the PM told lies about Mr. DIon if you want to continue down this line. To the op. I don't really care what my7 leaders hairstyle is like I care about what the man is going to do for me, or against me if it comes to that. Totally irrelevant, please don't try to create another Sarah Palin fiasco. Mr.Canada Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 If there is more I'm sure Harper could blame the Liberals. It isn't about blame. It's about getting Canadians back to work for Canada. Canadians need jobs not more brinkmanship from the left. We need to drop the partisanship and support our PM who really does have great ideas on how to fix our problems. It's all right there in the Speech from the Throne. Pure brilliance from our brave PM who knows the he'll be attacked by everyone no matter what he does. People need to realize the Tories are really a centrist party now and have a centrist agenda. It's been 3 years now and no hidden agenda has come out, glad everyone admitted that that was pure bs. We need to support our PM in these difficult times. Deficits are undesirable but are sometimes necessary in order to stimulate the economy in growth and to increase spending. One must spend money to make money. Canadians are very lucky to have a PM who is an economist and an expert in policy. Mr.Canada Posted November 23, 2008 Report Posted November 23, 2008 I want him to cut spending too jdobbin. Mr. Harper has been pushed to the centre by the Liberals moving so far to the left. If Mr. Harper rules from thr right he would look extremist by comparison. Blame the Liberal shift to the left for the spending. Mr.Harper cut arts funding and the left freaked out so Canadians have shown that they don't want cuts nor do they want deficits. Cannot have both. I want to cut all foreign aid, pull out of the UN and Nato. That would be my dream come true and would save hundreds of billions of dollars. I don't see the prudence in sending tens of Billions of dollars to other nations when Canadians need that money. We should be looking after our own first and screw everyone else.
