Shady Posted October 23, 2008 Report Posted October 23, 2008 Can't lose: Obama backs Rays, Phillies Barack Obama, campaigning in the key swing state of Florida, is seeking to capitalize on the excitement over the World Series-bound Tampa Bay Rays, telling a Tampa crowd he was “showing some love for the Rays,” several members of which joined him onstage. Only problem? Obama, a self-avowed Chicago White Sox fan, declared his allegiance earlier this month for the Rays’ National League opponent in baseball’s championship, the Philadelphia Phillies. On Oct. 11, Obama told a crowd in the City of Brotherly Love — the biggest city on the key swing state of Pennsylvania: “My White Sox are gone, so I’ll go ahead and root for the Phillies now. Politico Hmm, this new kind of politics looks and sounds a lot like the old. Just another example of what a charlatan this guy is. Quote

GostHacked Posted October 23, 2008 Report Posted October 23, 2008 Wow, people actually think this is important when it comes to his politics?? He can choose whatever sports team he decides to follow. Not only that he can change his mind at any time. His team is not in the running, so what do you do? When the Sens don't make it to the Stanley Cup, I root for another team. I even rooted for the Flyers last time they made it to the finals. And as for charlatan, most posters here fall into that category. Quote
BC_chick Posted October 23, 2008 Report Posted October 23, 2008 OMG, so he 'flip-flopped' on a baseball team, what a shyster! The stench of desperation from McCain supporters is rank. Shady Posted October 24, 2008 Author Report Posted October 24, 2008 OMG, so he 'flip-flopped' No, he didn't flip-flop, he just pandered to each audience, telling them what they want to hear. Even if it directly contradicted what he had said earlier, in an effort to get some votes. Now that's Change you can believe in! Quote

Shugo Posted October 28, 2008 Report Posted October 28, 2008 Reminds you of the time McCain was in one city and said he endured his torture by listing the starting line up of that cities football team, then went to another city and did the same thing except with their team. I forget which cities. but if this outrageous you, how about making up stories about your time as a POW? Quote
msj Posted October 31, 2008 Report Posted October 31, 2008 For some reason this post and clip from Fox Business reminded of this silly thread. Quote If a believer demands that I, as a non-believer, observe his taboos in the public domain, he is not asking for my respect but for my submission. And that is incompatible with a secular democracy.
