Jobu Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 (edited) I assume the rules that disallow dissemination of results to provinces where the voting has not ended are still in place. Does this apply to the Internet? Will it be possible for us to get live streaming of results somewhere online, if we're unable to tune in on the local stations? Edited October 12, 2008 by Jobu Quote

capricorn Posted October 15, 2008 Report Posted October 15, 2008 I have just heard on CFRA in Ottawa that someone was caught breaking the election rules re the blackout on results coming in from the Atlantic region. Charges will probably be laid against that individual. Quote "We always want the best man to win an election. Unfortunately, he never runs." Will Rogers
August1991 Posted October 15, 2008 Report Posted October 15, 2008 Yes, it applies to the internet. Nobody is permitted to post any election results. Huh? No results ever? That's crazy. The polls close at 9:30 pm in Toronto, the Centre of the Universe. I reckon that if the polls are closed in Toronto then it doesn't matter what happens anywhere else. Quote
capricorn Posted October 15, 2008 Report Posted October 15, 2008 August, results are now in from the Atlantic. By law, we cannot divulge the results here on MLW until all the polls have closed across the country. Them's the breaks. Quote "We always want the best man to win an election. I am just answering the question as it pertains to the "dissemination of results to provinces where the voting has not ended" on the internet. I would like to clarify something: I think the validity of this law should be discussed out in the open. If we do not discuss it, who will?
