At the same time that Mr. McGuinty says candidates running for seats in Ontario should support his campaign for fairness, he was refusing to publicly endorse Liberal Leader Stéphane Dion and his Green Shift plan aimed at combatting climate change.

Mr. McGuinty, now in his second term as Ontario's Liberal Premier, was repeatedly asked by reporters why he won't throw his support behind his Liberal cousins. He said he plans to vote for his brother, David McGuinty, who is running for re-election.

“The role that I've carved out for myself is to advance Ontario's interests,” he said. “Ontario's interests demand that we have fairness addressed.”

I wonder if he knows something.....

As an Ontarian, it seems to me that Dalton has perfected the art of sitting on the fence. :)

His personal opinion is probably that he sees Dion as a loser. Who can blame him for not wanting to associate himself with someone he thinks is toast?

I would much rather he take a stand on the Liberal Green Shift plan. But then he would have to leave his perch.

If Danny Williams wasn't retiring soon he'd be keeping his mouth shut. Take whatever he says with a grain of salt. He's just going out with a bang.

Bill Casey from Nova Scotia feels the same way about the Atlantic Accord as he does and so he vote against Harper and got thrown out and Casey says the only way he would go back to being a Conservative is if Harper changed the accord so it doesn't hurt NS. Casey also said he's happier being an independant. I'm sure there are other former PC's that feel that way, maybe the PC party could come back.
