Its a long way from winning an election but it shows the degree to which Campbell has alienated the electorate. He should be cruising but now he has a fight on his hands and it is his own fault.

I think the poll shows the degree to which more and more people feel alienated by the political process and mainstream parties. This seems to mirror the situation at the federal level.

I'm hoping for a series of slim minority provincial governments followed by a revisit of a PR referendum myself.

We are basically a two party province. The chance of a minority government in BC is somewhere between slim and none with a FPP system.

STV is supposed to be on the ballot again and I hope it passes this time. It might not work any better but is worth a try. Must admit that is one thing I do give Campbell a lot of credit for. He could have kissed it off when it narrowly missed passing the last time.

BC has always confused me. I think it is a beautiful place. I just don't understand BC politics.

Gawd I hope it fails again. The last thing we need is a political system gives power to a minority of extremists who happen to hold the balance of power. The NDP messed up the province pretty badly with their majority but the same system allowed Campbell to fix it and the same system will punish the BC Liberals for their arrogance.

Really? Is the second referendum mandatory? One of my biggest concerns is changes to the electoral system creates vested interests that would prevent a broken system from being repealed.

Yet the reason for the referendum in the first place is because so many people feel the present system is broken. There will always be vested interests whether it is to change or maintain the status quo. But I agree, the second referendum should part of the proposal on the first ballot.
