jbg Posted January 8, 2015 Report Posted January 8, 2015 I think the NYC area did...adjusted for a 2015 (devalued U.S. dollar). Actually that would lower the adjusted price. The pump actually first hit $1.59 at a few stations, briefly, in very early 1981 and then again briefly in the 1990-1 winter. In 2015 dollars the 1981 price would be about $3.50, and even higher since more taxes have worked in since then.
