Leafless Posted April 21, 2008 Report Posted April 21, 2008 But you said technically. Factually, I agree. Utilizing the process of abductive reasoning, I would still be correct in stating that technically speaking the attack (war) terror is U.S. lead. Quote
Leafless Posted April 21, 2008 Report Posted April 21, 2008 NATO voted to do this - the west jumped in as required under the NATO agreement and the Euros - as to be expected - became the weak sisters. Could that be because they live next door to these murderous idiots and we don't? Quote
Army Guy Posted April 21, 2008 Report Posted April 21, 2008 Technically, this is a U.S. lead attack. The word war, primarily defined by by the Concise Oxford Dictionary is : " armed hostilities between esp. nations." No one is arguing that piont, however Canada does have her own agenda, her own interests to be in Afganistan.... Iraq was a US lead attack as well, and yet for our own reason decided to abstain... The word war, primarily defined by by the Concise Oxford Dictionary is : " armed hostilities between esp. nations." You can call it what ever you want, But when my nation gives it's soldiers the ability and means to wipe out entire cities, then i call that war... Surley you are not comparing the primitive military actions of first wave troops to modern military expertize of 2008 whereas sacrificial offerings of this nature no longer exist in modern warfare. Actually Amphibous warfare has changed little since those primitive days, the equipment is newer, but storming the beaches still happens...modern warfare has changed the battle field little except now we can fly a missle up someones ass....and our bombs are bigger, soldiers still fight house to house.... infanteers still close with and destroy the enemy... Op mudusa seen us in the very same conditions as those that faught in WWII . fighting house to house, fighting hand to hand , etc.etc.. Slaughter is slaughter and this is what is happening in Afghanistan where our troops are exposed to needless and unnecessary barbaric type primitive attacks. No slaughter is lossing over almost a 1000 casualties in the first day, june 6 th 1944 ....our losses todate have been tough to cope with but very light... You forget armies have been using mines in warfare since the invention of gun powder, we dislike them because that is our enemies wpn of choice....but they are still a wpn, and all is fair in war... IMO, this attack on terrorists and cleansing these terrorist in foreign lands will never be acccomplished. Why pop gun it out in the middle of no where against these murderous groups when major countries are to blame for their activities. We can can't get Canadians to agree on this mission, who can we talk them into opening the conflict that would engulf most of the gulf region in flames....... If in fact this cannot be accomplished, then a concensus should be reached on declaring war on these countries, a push button war, on suspected areas, with clean up crews sent in a a later date. Hope it's a small clean-up NATO is struggling to get over 40,000 to Afgan....But i do agree with you... Quote We, the willing, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have now done so much for so long with so little, we are now capable of doing anything with nothing.
