Guest American Woman Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 Again...with respect: Back at'cha The variola virus has a 7 day maximum period without moisture before it dies. It's far more likely that any spreading of the virus would have been from face to face contact rather than an unreliable method like wet pus on a blanket. Occam's Razor...you're free to choose the more 'dramatic' options re: smallpox. Just respect you're betting against the likely and choosing the unlikely. I understand from the way the virus works it's highly unlikely that distributing blankets with the small pox virus would actually spread the disease, but the fact remains that it may have been tried. So regardless of the results, they may not have been above resorting to such tactics. But here's the thing. Regardless of how unlikely it would be to get small pox from an infected blanket, I sure wouldn't be wanting to wrap myself up in one if I were susceptible to the disease. Quote
jbg Posted March 18, 2008 Report Posted March 18, 2008 Wright has already been dismissed from Obama's campaign. So much for that "successful" "radical appointment," eh? Convenient and after the fact. Quote Free speech: "You can say what you want, but I don't have to lend you my megaphone." Always remember that when you are in the right you can afford to keep your temper, and when you are in the wrong you cannot afford to lose it. - J.J. Reynolds. Will the steps anyone is proposing to fight "climate change" reduce a single temperature, by a single degree, at a single location? The mantra of "world opinion" or the views of the "international community" betrays flabby and weak reasoning (link).
lost&outofcontrol Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 What other nice people does Obama know? This type of inflamatory language should not be part of any sermon. What other nice people does McCain know? One of McCain's favourite backers, whose support he publicly welcomed, is Pastor John Hagee. Hagee is a Christian Zionist, televangelist, antisemite, Islamophobe, homophobe and racist. Here is a list of his statements: • "It was the disobedience and rebellion of the Jews, God's chosen people, to their covenantal responsibility to serve only the one true God, Jehovah, that gave rise to the opposition and persecution that they experienced beginning in Canaan and continuing to this very day... Their own rebellion had birthed the seed of anti-Semitism that would arise and bring destruction to them for centuries to come.... it rises from the judgment of God upon his rebellious chosen people." • "All Muslims are programmed to kill and we can thus never negotiate with any of them". • "I believe that New Orleans had a level of sin that was offensive to God, and they were recipients of the judgment of God for that" • "Do you know the difference between a woman with PMS and a snarling Doberman pinscher? The answer is lipstick. Do you know the difference between a terrorist and a woman with PMS? You can negotiate with a terrorist." • "Hagee, pastor of the 16,000-member Cornerstone Church, last week had announced a 'slave sale' to raise funds for high school seniors in his church bulletin, 'The Cluster.' "The item was introduced with the sentence 'Slavery in America is returning to Cornerstone" and ended with "Make plans to come and go home with a slave. Quote
Oleg Bach Posted March 20, 2008 Report Posted March 20, 2008 What other nice people does McCain know? The Obama spirtual leader is not off the mark..but he really blew it for his friend by ranting out the truth...everyone knows you are not supposed to tell the truth in a court of law or in the political arena. Put it this way..those that own the oil companies are rich old white guys - there counterparts that build the gas gusseling SUVs are old white guys...the pricksters that run the courts are old white guys...and lastly - the ones that wage war for fun and profit are old white guys...so what's knew and why is everyone shocked by the Pastors display of truthfulness...remember Colin power who got called a "house N****" By the aging entertainer - Harry Belefonte`? If elected Obama will betray the blacks...I mean that is the job discription and what his real backers expect...now I feel like breaking out into an old Louis Armstrong tune.."What A Wonderful World"...and that turn coat witherling McCain...I heard from a good source that the shoot down rate of American flyers doubled during his comfortable tea and cookie eating incarceration in Viet Nam...seems there are no good leaders...Hillary - she already ran the white house through her alpha whimpster husband Bill the Boner Clinton...all is lost...looks good on them. Who's Doing What? Posted March 21, 2008 Report Posted March 21, 2008 Poor Barack. First he follows the wrong minister, then gets reamed by one he likely never heard of before. I don't see how this guy is going to help the Clinton campaign with this rhetoric. Other view on Obama. Quote Harper differed with his party on some key policy issues; in 1995, for example, he was one of only two Reform MPs to vote in favour of federal legislation requiring owners to register their guns. http://www.mapleleafweb.com/election/bio/harper.html "You've got to remember that west of Winnipeg the ridings the Liberals hold are dominated by people who are either recent Asian immigrants or recent migrants from eastern Canada: people who live in ghettoes and who are not integrated into western Canadian society."
