margrace Posted March 8, 2008 Report Posted March 8, 2008 Where did I say that?Do farms have high speed internet, natural gas, sewers and town water? Lets just put it this way, I'm not a farm girl, I live in the Ontario boonies now and would leave in a heartbeat if hubby agreed to it. Biggest mistake I ever made moving away from everything. I wasn't aware the rules had changed for farmer's markets; I thought they were exempted under the Food Premises Regulation. Are their kitchens inspected under the same health guidelines as restaurants etc. and other places? I thought they could only sell preserves etc. behind their own gates, not in a public market....do you have any links? What did you mean by processed foods are not always desirable. Some of them can kill us. Such as different types of fat. Oh I am well aware that you are not a farm girl, having been a farm girl and farmer all my life I am well aware of the attitude towards farm people, I can hear it in you statements. You are like the lady who complained to the local committee on the use of the local curling club by farm women, she didn't think she should have to curl with them. A friend who applied for a booth at the local farm market to sell bread and such was told her kitchen would have to inspected by health inspectors. Which I think is only right. If you look up the rules for Ontario Farmers Markets you will likely find lots of information. As for natural gas, we had it on the farm when I was younger so it is available, high speed internet is available in a lot of places now. A farm family has fresh vegetables right from the garden, fresh eggs and milk, they know what their meat animals were fed. Did you not see the articles about the meat from downed cattle in California being fed to school children. If you buy yours at a super market are you sure you aren't getting that.? Quote

Exactly that, some are not desirable, some are okay, they won't kill you unless you ingest great gobs of the stuff every day. You can't 'hear' anything in my statements, you simply apply your own biases and notions to someone who isn't to the left of Jack Layton... I respect hard working farmers who provide much of our food. Quote Hey Ho - Ontario Liberals Have to Go - Fight Wynne - save our province
margrace Posted March 8, 2008 Report Posted March 8, 2008 Interesting that you talk about bias'. What makes you think I would vote for Jack Layton, never voted NDP in my life. Quote

kuzadd Posted March 10, 2008 Report Posted March 10, 2008 That's not exactly true, over half the people invited are world leaders who have control over governments. that doesn't matter topaz, because, business leaders and government leaders in democratic nations meet behind closed doors in secret all the time, and that is a--ok with many people, it is just the way democracies function, no accountability to the voters/taxpayers/suckers. You and I get to vote every few years, be happy about it, cause everything gov and business leaders do behind closed doors , with no accountability is all for our own good. Quote Insults are the ammunition of the unintelligent - do not use them. It is okay to criticize a policy, decision, action or comment. Such criticism is part of healthy debate. It is not okay to criticize a person's character or directly insult them, regardless of their position or actions. Derogatory terms such as "loser", "idiot", etc are not permitted unless the context clearly implies that it is not serious. Rule of thumb: Play the ball, not the person (i.e. tackle the argument, not the person making it).
