bush_cheney2004 Posted October 24, 2007 Report Posted October 24, 2007 I think that finally we have some action on what appears to be a more recent shift in attitudes, by the Canadian public. That being, they have seen enough of this and they want this same action taken quicker and much more often, to remove those who have come here by illegal means.... Yes, I think you are right. Many Canadians are seemingly less tolerant of this sort of thing, not wishing to be played for suckers. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
mikedavid00 Posted October 24, 2007 Report Posted October 24, 2007 No one is illegal.......... LOL Quote ---- Charles Anthony banned me for 30 days on April 28 for 'obnoxious libel' when I suggested Jack Layton took part in illegal activities in a message parlor. Claiming a politician took part in illegal activity is not rightful cause for banning and is what is discussed here almost daily in one capacity or another. This was really a brownshirt style censorship from a moderator on mapleleafweb http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1oGB-BKdZg---
mikedavid00 Posted October 24, 2007 Report Posted October 24, 2007 I suspect that his wife will simply sponsor him as a family class case and he'll return to Canada on humanitarian grounds - eventually. Bingo. He'll always be Canada's problem. Us taxpayers of Canada have to pay for him to be here. ScottSA Posted October 24, 2007 Author Report Posted October 24, 2007 Is he setting up some kind of scenario for a lawsuit against the Canadian government? I suppose with his wife and soon-to-be-born child still in Canada he could sue us by proxy? No doubt. Meanwhile, we'll all have to pitch in and pay her welfare cheque and his plane fare. Incidentally, Cair-can, one of those allegedly "moderate" organizations, is screaming for his return... Quote
guyser Posted October 24, 2007 Report Posted October 24, 2007 Incidentally, Cair-can, one of those allegedly "moderate" organizations, is screaming for his return... Are they scott ? Screaming for his return ? Or would this just be your usual tactic ? I looked at CAIR-CAN and there is no press release, nothing "screaming" about any return. Perhaps you meant the press release from yesterday asking Diane Finley to stay the return due to Tunisia's spotty human rights record.(which no one really cares about) http://www.caircan.ca/itn_more.php?id=2949_0_2_0_C Go ahead read it for yourselves. Guyser, a quote from your linked article: "Amnesty International Canada (francophone section) believes Jaziri is at serious risk of being tortured if deported to Tunisia. According to Amnesty, Tunisia has a dubious human rights record." Too late. Jaziri has already claimed he was tortured by Canadian Border Agency officials on the flight to Tunisia. So if he is tortured after arriving in Tunisia it is a double whammy. One of the 2 countries may be expected to pay for the injustices perpetrated against him. I doubt the Harper government will plead his case as Chretien did in the Kadhr patriarch's case. Quote "We always want the best man to win an election. Unfortunately, he never runs." Will Rogers

My point was , and the links date shows, they were asking for a stay, which they did not get obviously. It was the hyperbole nothing more. Hell, I am as pleased as the next guy he is gone. More should join him. Quote
