  1. WOW. I guess you just read the whole book so damn fast that you forgot to read the quote below it from the GOVERNMENT OF CANADA. Dream all you want of a Singaporean solution, you ain't gonna get it.
  2. Hugo, before you continue extolling the virtues of a private healthcare system, I would highly recommend that you read this book . Private healthcare is not as pretty as right wingers seem to think. And for the dreamers that seem to think we will be able to import a "european" style of healthcare, wake up. That from a government of Canada website . Also thanks to FT, U.S. companies will enjoy a preffered country status when quoting to destroy, er save, our Health system. Of course, perhaps we wouldn't be in this mess if the jolly old Liberals had not cut the healthcare budget so drastically. God, I wish I was a Quebecer just so that I could vote for a party who stands up for their constituents.
  3. Which was why I put in the misnomer that his platform must include plausible elements for these issues. I do not personally like Stephen Harper, but I believe it is time for a change, as the Liberals have been screwing us for long enough and seem to think that they are untouchable. ???????
  4. To get back on topic here, To get elected, the tories need to fully explain two key topics in their platform: healthcare and foreign policy. As long as they produce plausible elements in these key areas, the ONLY reason they would not be elected after 12 years of Liberal shenanigans, is ignorant voters who do not like Stephen Harper. Why people can't understand that one man cannot make policy on his own in Canada is still a mystery to me. What is needed next time around is a Tory minority gov with the Bloc holding the balance of power. If that is the situation, it would be impossible for the tories to privatize healthcare, or send what's left of our army off to an unjust war. As a side note to anyone who believes private healthcare is a good thing, I suggest you read the book "Not For Profit". http://www.chapters.indigo.ca/item.asp?Ite...on=books&zxac=1
  5. Not according to the Canada Firearms Centre CFC-FAQ's
  6. MS, this is a sad incident indeed. However, it is also more proof that the gun registry does nothing to prevent violent crime. Nowhere in that article, or others I have read on the same incident state what kind of weapon was used. As this was a crime of passion, it is quite likely that the weapon used was a registered firearm. Registering a gun does not prevent it from being used for violent crime. The old saying goes "Guns don't kill people, people kill people". And Kimmy is correct. Prior to this latest gun registry, weapons were still registered. Your own facts prove this. If they have knowledge of all these unregistered weapons, are these weapons truly unregistred?
  7. Economic Left/Right: -6.88 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -2.87 An interesting quiz. While I agree with some of the other posts that this "test" may not be scientifically accurate, I believe that (for me at least) it is close. Thanks for the link August.
