The scarry thing is that millions now have asthma from the air, if it is caused by the warming trend whatever is causing it then how will you bring them back. Perhaps you think you are God. There must be someone on here who has lost a family friend or loved one and had them looked after by some type of Palliative care.

Has anyone on here volunteered or helped in Palliative care in any way? Or have you every used the services for a loved on, family member etc. We are looking for suggestions on this service, good, bad, indifferent. It has been the fastest growing volunteer organization in Canada, while other volunteer organizations are losing people it has been steadily growing. In our area we have no immediate hospital and if we can keep dying people at home it saves an immense amount of money and lets the dying remain at peace in their own home. Any information you have would be welcome.

Canada does have another law that allows the courts or parole board, I am not sure which, to deem him a threat to society and make it impossible for him ever to get out of Jail. The other thing about him is that he probably will have to be kept in solitary confinement for the rest of his life because of the possiblility that the other inmates would kill him or at least beat him up. Bernardo has to be kept segregated as well.

Conrad Black and Robert Picton have one thing in common but they belong to two different groups. Piction is a psychopath and Black is a sociopath both equally dangerous to the public. The common belief they share is that what is good or reasonable to them is good for everyone. They have no empathy for others, they were born without the ability to understand anyone's need but their own. If I want it then it has to be right is their belief and they are bullies.I followed several discussions on this. On the CBC there was a program on these types of people. It suggested that Psychopaths make up less than 1% of the population and that Sociopaths make up 30% of the population. We know what is bad about people such as Picton but Blacks type of people can be your husband, your wife, your doctor, you MP, or MPP and the people who suffer the most are the ones closest to them. On Big Ideas the other day they were discussing how to prevent children for becoming criminals. It featured several people who work in these fields both in the US and Canada and both looking at Adults as well. A man who did these programs of intervention in adults said that they had found that no type of intervention could or would change these people. Adults in both these areas have high self esteem and they know they have done nothing wrong. So we know what to do with Pictons type but what do we do about the havoc sociopaths create???

It is unconceivable to me that people cannot connect the whole thing, pollution to our air may be causing a speed up in climate change, laws that allow the poisoning of our ground may also be killing people.The whole idea is connected and people who advocate divide and conquer are at best advocates of doing nothing.

Americans are just the same as Canadians, we are all really related, our families have more cousins in the US than in Canada. But statements like this don't help their image in Canada Standing outside one of our doctors health centres, an American, driving a big cadillac with Texas liscence plated proclaimed at the top of his voice "If this is socialized Medicine then I want nothing to do with it" Evidently he had to wait his turn and then had to pay. Tought aye. Another example is a line up in a grocery store in our area. One of our local doctors was black, heard from the back of the line in a strong southern drawl, "Where ah come from nigers get to the back of the line" Nice aye but the majority of Americans with cottages in our area are great visitors and we like them.

There has been predictions that the children growing up now will not live as long as we do. I guess if you have no children or your children will be protected, you think, then doing anything is robbery of your money. You can't take it with you. It all seems to come down to money, but no amount of money will buy back the health of the amount of people who are becoming severly asthmatic, no money can buy back the life of a child who is dying of cancer.

My concern is not with Pickton per say but with the general attitude in our society that allows killers such as he to operate under the cover of darkness in a desolate part of cities. As is said often enough these sex workers are engaged in the oldest trade in the world. It can't be stopped but it should be acknowledged and some form of protection provided for these people. The most outraged people usually are coverning up the fact that someone close to them may be using these people, hypoctites every one of them. These workers cannot operate without the other half, the users. But little is ever said about them, boys will be boys. It appears that men have a right to this business and we have no rights as women to be protected because we chose this trade. I have observed the overt condemnation of native women on this board, so its all right to get rid of them, they deserve it. Robert Picton only exemplifies the worst in all of us. Some of his victims were native, some were of other nationalities, and he operated since the middle 70's. We all are guilty, until we protect these people we bear the blame as well as him.

You know there's an old saying "Why don't we just do it". This whole subject and others are interconnected. For instance we need to look at our whole pattern of living, additives to our food, poor air, population explosion, food shortages, food adulteration, spending 60 million dollard to build 6 miles of highway to creat more pollution and so on. Don't you think its time we stopped this childish discussion and did something possitive. Either you are for us or against us and I think if one looks to Africa with the Aids and adulterated drugs etc one sees that we definitly are against them. Letting millions die while we argue about climate change just shows how Christian we are doesn;t it. I don't think the almighty dollar will do any of us any good when death comes calling.
