  1. Just because they vote for the CPC doesn't mean they're really implemented conservative principles towards criminal justice. Moreover, remember the distinction between provincial and federal law. You have no point.
  2. I should add that my suspicions about these hikers being ultra-leftist freaks turned out to be true. They're vehemently anti-Israel (which is a given for any Islamist apologist, as Israel the number one agenda item for all aggrieved Arabs/Muslims), and soft on Islamism, while decrying perceived Western imperialism/colonialism. They're ridiculous, and frankly, I don't think America should lift a finger to help them. If you're dumb enough to hoke around a tyrannical regime in this day and age, with open access to reality through the internet, as young and tech-savvy "activists", then you're responsible for your own misfortune.
  3. It depends. It's it's a leftist agitator, then of course. The difference is, this is a free country, not an authoritarian regime. Leftists have a very difficult time differentiating between the two, and often seem to romanticize the latter, hence their love-fest with Castro, his homeboy Che and t-shirts with his image, Mao, Lenin, and the hammer and sickle symbol. But if someone comes here with an open-mind and objective attitude, then it's cool.
  4. I believe they were hikers, informed by massive ignorance, stupidity, and naivety (and a bad sense of direction), and perhaps leftist politics and a desire to lean about the cultures of the reasons. I am highly suspicious of anyone who has a deep interest in learning about the cultures of this reason, and typically assume that such people as Islamist sympathizers who view the world through rose-coloured glasses and are out the find the "truth" about Islam. I certainly reject the lies from the Iranian regime about them being "spies". More like leftist pro-Islamist leftist student on a moronic globe-trotting adventure (in Iran, of all places). But I am a suspicious person by nature, when it comes to politics.
  5. Great post, Keepitsimple, it's a great refutations of the lies we've seen advanced from the mainstream media trying to tell us that everything is fine and dandy, as well as their loyal apparatchiks in this forum (dre, cybercoma and jacee both come to mind). Are we going to get a revision of their comments in this thread attacking Harper's intention to spend more on new prison construction? I've been seeing these lies about "all-time lows" in crime in this forum for quite awhile, now.
  6. If you really want to talk about "interesting" correlations between crime and various groups, you'd start with blacks (particularly those from the Caribbean or the descendents of those from the islands), and Arabs/Muslims (particularly Somalians, Lebanese, and Egyptians), and yes, of course, Aboriginals. They're all overrepresented in crime statistics given their demographics, as opposed to, for example, Asians, Indians, and South Americans (and of course Jews). But of course, you try to score infantile political points by trying to associate conservatism with crime rather than acknowledge REAL correlations that offend your religious adherence to political correctness.
  7. That's not what he says. He accepts immigration in the context of appropriate integration/assimilation. He doesn't subscribe to conventional multiculturalism (neither do I, in the European context), and supports a more assertive position on CULTURE. If you're going to move here, ASSIMILATE and INTEGRATE. Otherwise, you threaten our culture - especially when the cultural differences you're bringing with you are antithetical to fundamental values - democracy, pluralism, and individual freedoms and liberties. Islamism is at odds with these values, and Islamism is growing in Europe concurrently with Islamic immigration. Who'da thunk it? Perhaps the rhetoric of traitor is aggressive, but I agree that advocates of contemporary multiculturalism ARE advancing and perpetuating failed policies that are permitting Islamisation to continue to occur, which goes hand-in-hand with social and cultural suicide. Go move to Saudi Arabia (or any other Muslim-majority state) and tell me how much freedom you have to preserve your own way of life.
  8. When dealing with such a strange regime, their motivations may not always be clear. Or, their motivations may be based on a very poor understanding of how the story will be perceived by their target audience. Don't expect the Iranian regime to always exercise shrewd political media strategies. Perhaps it was an attempt to portray Iranian people as compassionate or forgiving? Who knows? The story may be essentially true, but at the very least the dramatic last-second forgiveness is OBVIOUSLY staged. All I'm saying is I have mega-skepticism from all news that is advanced from their propaganda machine, considering that it is a an authoritarian regime without democratic accountability/transparency.
  9. American Woman, we're dealing with state-controlled media in an authoritarian country. This is likely staged for one strange reason or another, or, at the very least, it isn't as spontaneous as the Iranian propaganda arm is trying to lead us to believe. We need to be especially skeptical with news from official Iranian news outlets.
  10. But I haven't done that. What I've done is state that Islamism isn't particularly fringe in Muslim culture. I cannot give you some precise percentage, as these thing are inherently complex, nuanced, and somewhat subjective. I don't sweep the threat of Islamism under the rug, but I also don't blur the lines between Islamism and all Muslims.
  11. See, you're doing it again - you're suggesting that I and DogOnPorch are slandering all Muslims and suggested that they are all sleeper cells that are associated with a future Islamic takeover. You need to stop blurring the lines between Islamism and all Muslims. They are not one in the same. When we discuss the doctrine of Islamism, we are NOT stating that all self-describing Muslims are adherents to this political/religious ideology. This is not mere semantics, as when you mischaracterize our statements in this way you are effectively creating a strawman argument that detracts from the conversation, compelling me to respond with posts like this where I need to say something along the lines of, "No, that's not what I meant!".
  12. It's historical ignorance, for the most part. I am quite certain over 90% of Canadians are unfamiliar with basics of this episode of Christian/Islamic history (myself included, until I looked into it for myself). And when presented with the facts, there's likely to be more excuse-making in order to stay obedient to the doctrine of political correctness - where no culture or society can be put above another. In other words, the Muslims must've had good reasons to engage on their offensive... or, Islamism is somehow magically different today than it was a few centuries ago (hint - it isn't).
  13. Do you or do you not recognize the existential and long-term threat of Islamism in our own borders, as well as broader failures of immigration/multiculturalism policies in Europe (and to a lesser extent, in Canada and America), to the survival of our societies and cultures??
  14. Ah yes, of course... misplaced universalism. I suppose you think the Islamists are worried about the survival of our cultures and societies when they keep preaching for Islamism to dominate our countries. In the interests of avoiding conflict at all costs, which seems to be your position, we should perhaps start educating our children about Shariah law so that when Islamism finally takes over our countries, there'll be a shorter learning curve.
  15. Do you even acknowledge that Islamisation and Islamism is a threat to Western civilization within our own borders? Or are the concerns I'm expressing here all hysteria and fear/hate-mongering? I find Islamism and Islamisation the threat to Western civilization as we know it, while you seem to think that addressing this threat is in itself the threat to Western civilization. As usual, reality seems to be upside down in your deranged world.
  16. It's not just Muslims , it's just that Muslims make up that largest component of immigrants that have failed to successfully integrate into European societies (overrepresented in all things bad - academic underachievement, disease, involvement in violent and other crimes, dependence on social welfare programs, and aggressively anti-Western culture). Even with more stringent immigration policies, which are a MUST, many Muslims would still be able to immigrate to Western societies provided they can get through sensible screening policies. Like I said, there are several other groups who have largely failed to integrate successfully, which is certainly related to multiculturalism policies and fear of expecting and requiring assimilation/integration - i.e. Caribbean immigrants, certain Eastern-European immigrants, etc. Of course, the most visible, and hostile, group of immigrants that are failing to integrate properly are those from Muslim-majority countries. As far as Islamism in Muslim-majority countries, well, obviously that problem is a much better problem to have than Islamism in your backyard, as we've seen with the bombings and shootings in London, Madrid, Moscow, Fort Hood, and of course 9/11... to say nothing to foiled attempts in Toronto, Ottawa, NYC, the underwear and shoe bombers, and on and on and on. We need to clean our own houses, first. It's amazing how much you want to dodge this problem. You're literally more concerned with political correctness than dealing with Islamism and its associated terrorism and destruction of our freedoms and cultures.
  17. Well, how about freezing all immigration, for starters? Conduct more serious interviews for applicants who want to live in the country, and give immigration officials more discretion. Ask people about their religious beliefs, how observant they are, their views of democracy, pluralism, freedoms, minorities, etc. Ensure they have sufficient language skills for the country to which they emigrating. Ensure they have sufficient education. Cease compassionate family reunification laws that allow for family members to join one another if they don't all pass the screening criteria. Start investigating Islamic groups, press charges against incitement to hate, violence, and sedition. Revoke citizenships. Mass deportations of ex-pat criminals. Deny welfare programs to immigrants and perhaps even second or third generation descendents. Monitors independent education institutions (specifically religious schools), and make efforts to stop indoctrination of hatred through Islamism. Use your imagination. The threat it real. The efforts to challenge it are virtually non-existent. What's the EDL accomplished? Although slightly different in the sense that illegal Mexican and other Latino immigrants aren't Islamist, even America can't seem to overcome political correctness to do what's necessary to stop t flow of illegal immigrants who are wreaking havoc on the economy and culture - and mass illegal immigration in the USA has been going on for almost half a century, if not longer. So whatever it takes, because doing nothing is simply slow suicide.
  18. What's your solution? Do nothing and allow the slow Islamisation to destroy our societies? Or do you not even acknowledge this as a problem, perhaps it's simply an acceptable form of social evolution in your view? My answer is simple, do whatever is necessary. There is no price that is too high to pay towards ensuring survival of our societies. That doesn't mean throw caution to the wind, as the struggle to balance freedoms against other existential issues can sometimes be challenging. But as I said, whatever is necessary. Here are some of your beloved American Islamists doing what they do best - condemning America, burning the American flag, and declaring solidarity with Islamism and Jihad over democracy and freedom:
  19. I agree. These are just a handful of examples of the regular and countless calls to violence coming from the Islamist camps in Europe. It seems like Europe doesn't have the courage to defend itself, and will allow political correctness to bring about their destruction. Here's an example of the same filth in America, although this group has MUCH less of a following than in Europe. Islamism doesn't seem to have taken off in America to the same degree it was in Europe, yet. But then, the Muslim population in America is still around two percent, while in certain European countries it's much higher. I think these guys are converts, though, and it seems that converts to Islam (or any religion for that matter) tend to me the most hardcore. Let's not pretend it didn't happen in Canada, either, we've had a number of arrests for plots to engage in mass murder, involving arrests in Ottawa and Toronto. There was also that piece of filth Omar Khadr from the Islamist snake-nest family (who had his share of apologists on this board). Anyways, we're not immune to it in Canada either. It's on the horizon.
  20. Imagine living in this Muslim-majority community in France where Muslims gather en masse on Friday to block streets in a show of intimidation. I remember reading about this story about a year ago. And what does the spineless French government do? Nothing, apparently. Remember, when you offend Islamists, you risk mass murder. But also don't forget that "Christian fundamentalists" like Anders Breivik are the greatest threat facing the Western world, and that is you challenge conventional multiculturalism/immigration policies, you're a white-power Nazi. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OARlLBBLQW0&feature=related
  21. I remember coming across these videos awhile ago. Surprisingly, they came from the BBC (often an apologist for Islamism by either blatantly misrepresenting the threat in the interests of "balance", or completely ignoring stories) and Channel 4. The first documentary shows how prevalent Islamism in Muslim communities in the UK (particularly London), and the second focuses on how Islamic identity can prevent meaningful integration into British society and lead to support for Islamism. It's really sick and it;s really frightening, but of course if you talk about these issues you're either a racist, xenophobe, "Islamophobe", or Nazi. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=203oa4qatUc
  22. After seeing the hysterics from certain folks on this board such as bloodyminded and dre, who intentionally blur the lines between political oppositions to contemporary immigration/multiculturalism policies (with a particular focus on the massive failure of Islamic integration/assimilation) and incitement to mass murder, I thought I'd share a few of THOUSANDS of videos you can find around the web illustrating massive Islamist marches who make no efforts to hide their desire for mass murder, war, Jihad, and establishment of more Islamic states around the world. It's telling how deluded the left is, while they rant about the right being violent, while ignoring their allies-of-convenience - Islamists. Make no mistake, the usual suspects are the very first to defend the Islamists in several ways - either they deflect by spreading lies of parallel threats from other religious groups ("Christian extremists"), justify the Islamist motives and actions by describing them as understandable reactions to Western "imperialism" or "colonialism" (although the only imperialism and colonialism most of the Middle East ever experienced was Arab/Islamic conquest), or deny the threat entirely by suggesting we're overexaggerating the eccentrics of a handful of fringe radicals. For those who actually want to see grasp the breadth of this threat, and who know the left-wing media tends to avoid these stories in the interests of political correctness. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ocU5x_03MDM&feature=related There are more videos on these issues than we could count, found around the web. From Hamas and Hezbollah videos, to propaganda from the entire the Muslim Middle East (which has ZERO media independent from the government), to DVDs, books, pamphlets, and lectures widely dispersed in Muslim communities in Europe (mosques, community centres, Islamic schools, university campuses, etc), this problem isn't nearly as small as the leftists portray it to be, so that they engage in their tactics of obfuscation I mentioned above.
  23. Or, more simply, there are a lot of idiots out there who take things too seriously and love any excuse to get offended.
  24. It's a comedy show, people need to lighten up. If people are dumb enough to think that a Jewish community in LA would protest a Palestinian chicken restaurant just because it's Palestinian, that's not Larry David' fault. Yes, there were silly things in this episode, but it was funny. The silliest part? That anyone would believe that the actress playing the Palestinian girl was actually a Palestinian.
  25. Spare us your feigned outrage, such videos don't have to put them at risk. I love watching videos on YouTube of the enemy being destroyed. You can have a good time watching Blackhawk helicopter videos of terrorists being rocketed and sent to Muslim heaven (or hell?).
