  1. Canadians die all the time waiting for care in Canada. Their gender and skin colour is irrelevant. It happens on this side of the border, too.
  2. You touch on so many points that I've noticed, and I agree with most of this post. First, the self-concept of many on the left is that they are morally superior beings than those of us on the right - it is THEY who have the monopoly on generosity and caring for the less fortunate. Those of us who know that leftist policies actually harm the poorest and least fortunate among us the most are, in the view of those on the left, soulless and without compassion. Although this is a side issue with respect to the OP, your observations mirror mine. I want to touch on what you mentioned about the left embracing Muslims and Islam, and constantly making excuses for Islamists and associated terrorist - it sure is WEIRD! They are essentially supporting a perverted society that is antithetical to what the left proclaims to stand for. It's almost funny. It's just another example of the massive hypocrisy of the contemporary left-wing in Canada and the USA.
  3. Of course, but I'm trying to keep things simple. Conversely, in the hypothetical Canada where all women are wearing hijabs (which necessarily means they are all religious Muslims), there will be an equal amount of Muslim men as their counterweight.... effectively transforming Canadian society into a religious Islamic society. Sick, sick, sick. And dre, GostHacked, and Peter F are all totally fine with that.
  4. That's not true outside of a few barometers. Overall, the quality of both American and Canadian healthcare outcomes are comparable. But in harder to treat and rarer illnesses, American healthcare can't be beat. That's a strange hypothetical. It's also a strange way to define "efficiency". You're implying that in a healthcare system with a greater free market element, that doctors will refer patients for unnecessary services in order to... make more money? I've heard that argument with respect to fears of malpractice lawsuits held by doctors, but not in this more sinister manner.
  5. Your entire post is nonsense. Aside from the fact that you, like most other, perpetuate the lie of Nazism being a right-wing ideology, you then go into the usual rhetoric about "human rights", "proportionate response", and the "rule of law". Without going into detail, which would be useless with you, let me just that you play the role of the "useful idiot" who allows the Islamist filth to use such rhetoric to attack us. You think the "Palestinians" support those values? You think they're democratic? You think they're believers in pluralism? You think they protect the rule of law? What a joke. You're the perfect example of the leftist who is anti-Semitic not through malice, but through ignorance.
  6. "Specialized enough"? What does that even mean?
  7. That was insanity. To offer such concessions to a population that is still violent and filled with hate was pathetic. Thankfully, the "Palestinians" will never rest until they "liberate" all of "their" land, so they couldn't say yes to the offer. To give autonomy to the enemy on our doorstep was the height of irresponsibility. Israel has no shortage of treasonous leftist politicians who are willing to accept "Palestinian" promises of peace while they continually support terrorism. It's like letting Bernardo out of prison because he signed a paper and promised to be a good boy.
  8. This is really, really, really stupid.
  9. Look, there is no debating the issue of problems with the socialized healthcare model. When the service is provided to everyone, you have a much bigger strain on the limited supply of the services. That is why everyone knows how terrible so many wait times are in Canada for so many medical services. Whether it's hours in the ER, or months to see a specialist, we have problems here. When a service is "free", it gets abused. And that's how it is in Canada. It's a big problem and we need to find a way to incorporate personal responsibility where reasonably applicable, so that certain people are not permitted to receive services at the expense of the taxpayer that are undeserving. Consider that I've read that at least in some provinces, sex-change operations are permitted. How sick is that?
  10. Women should be allowed to wear whatever they want. I completely agree with that. The question I asked you, however, to which you answered in the affirmative, is whether you'd be comfortable living in a Canada where 100% of women wear hijabs. Did I really need to explain what was implied with that question? Since you don't seem to grasp the point I was getting at, let me spell it out for you: if you are willing to live in a Canada where 100% of women are wearing hijabs, then you are willing to accept a Canada that is entirely composed of religious Muslims. What, did you think my hypothetical example was suggesting secular blonde and blue-eyed Christian girls wearing hijabs as some sort of fad? Did I really need to explain that only religious Muslims women wear a hijab? That's the reason I asked the question, and you and other politically correct and suicidal MLW members nodded like fools as if there's nothing wrong with an Islamic Canada. It is unreal, but at the same time unsurprising giving Canada's hardcore leftist (and ignorant and myopic) political culture.
  11. Why are you so verbose? Keep it simple - downloading media such as movies, television shows, and music without paying for them is theft. Pure and simple.
  12. Employers should have the ability to pay nothing at all. And they often do. Internships are an example of that. So is volunteering. Free people should be permitted to choose their arrangements on their own without government coercion. I take it you're in favour of minimum wage laws?
  13. What I say is that Arabic/Islamic society is an inferior culture. Which it is. They don't accept social practises and systems that are essential to enjoying the things we take for granted - primarily freedom. There is nothing inherently inferior in an Arab person because of their genetics, but their cultures and societies are certainly inferior. Anyone who can't recognize that is either lying or stupid, or disgustingly committed to be politically correct. Which reason is it for you? Bear in mind, folks, that dre explicitly stated that he would be entirely comfortable living in a Canada that was exclusively populated by religious Muslims. When asked if he'd be alright with every woman in Canada wearing a hijab (and everything that goes along with that, primarily all of these women being religious Muslims!), he said it would be no problem for him. Consider that we have so many people, this oblivious and sickeningly committed to political correctness, living among us.
  14. Can't you see that Zachary is a young guy who is currently infatuated with libertarianism? It's just a temporary political/ideological love affairs that will soften as he ages and matures.
  15. Healthcare, specifically health insurance, is not like any other market. The unknown and unpredictable nature of future health problems makes health insurance unlike any other product out there. Consider car insurance, Zachary, which you clearly view as a product/service not unlike any other that would be best served in a free market system - as you wish for health insurance. Consider that with car insurance, an individual can certainly do a of to reduce the likelihood of being responsible for an accident which would require making a claim. We've all heard the phrases, "all accidents are preventable" and "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure". So driver can simply do what he or she should do - drive responsibly. If a driver drives responsibly, he or she will have virtually no chance of being involved in an accident for which he or she is responsible. That cannot be compared health outcomes, however. Good luck telling someone to be "live responsibly". The unbelievably complicated nature and breadth of potential health problems and treatments is far beyond any measure of an individual's ability to reasonably anticipate. It's not patient A's fault that he got MS in his twenties. It's not patient B's fault she got Crohn's Disease when she was in elementary school. There is no reasonable way for a person to anticipate his or her future healthcare needs. Health insurance cannot be examined as a simple product like buying an extended warranty on a laptop you buy at Best Buy - which is what you're making it out to be. I completely support socialized or single-payer healthcare systems, but with certain caveats. I don't like the idea, for example, of a drunk driver getting into an accident and being horribly injured - only to have his or her healthcare services paid for by the public. I want personal responsibility where it can be reasonably implemented. For most possible future healthcare problems, however, a person cannot reasonably anticipate them or prevent them - that is why healthcare insurance cannot be treated just like any other market product or service.
  16. I certainly wouldn't describe the left as anti-Semitic, but the left certainly has been the torch-bearer of anti-Semitism for many decades - far outpacing the right. It's a multifaceted issue, and it's something I'm quite certain we've talked about in reasonable depth on MLW, before. To put it simply, the contemporary left in Canada and the USA are reflexively anti-Israel for many reasons, which makes them anti-Semitic either through ignorance (most likely) or through malice. It's quite perverse among Muslims in the West, however, who seem to be a bit more brazen with their talk about Jewish media control and demonization of Zionism (without even knowing what Zionism is). They also blatantly lie (often believing their own lies, by the way) about what things are actually like in Israel and the territories. They also rewrite history, but that's another issue. The article you linked has this one phrase that really resonates with me, and that was how the author described anti-Israel positions as an "article of faith" among the left. I think this is partly due to massive Canadian and American ignorance of the history of this conflict and of the sickness of Islamic societies, but mostly due to perceiving this conflict through the lens of a sort of Dances With Wolves narrative - where the Jewish people are these sort of European-white colonizers coming in to steal the land of a docile and peace-loving people. Nothing could be further from the truth, of course, as most Jews in Israel don't have European heritage (even though it's irrelevant), and the Arabs/Muslims who then magically became "Palestinians" in the aftermath of the Six-Day War were anything but docile and peaceful. It's this sort of reflexive cheering for the underdog, where the "Palestinians" are incorrectly seen as oppressed losers in a conflict where they don't have a "fair chance", rather than realizing that they are a part of broader inferior, violent, misogynistic, deeply religious and hate-filled society (the broader Arab-Muslim world) that shouldn't elicit the compassion of any freedom loving individual. That's my two cents.
  17. Exactly. This statement, "the majority of Canadians support Palestine" is clearly just made up, and in order to have any meaningful discussion about it even if it were true: it needs to be qualified. What does "supporting Palestine" even mean? I would also support a "Palestinian state", under the right circumstances. But those circumstances certainly don't exist today, and will never exist in future. So it's basically an example of mental masturbation.
  18. Zachary you are far too puritanical. You definitely lean on the correct side of the ideological spectrum, emphasizing personal responsibility and opposing the sickening abuse of the contemporary welfare state, but my prediction is that as you age and mature, your philosophy and grand ideas will be tempered by the wisdom that only experience can deliver.
  19. Let me say another this - the lionization of this socialist and placing him on this pedestal where he is viewed as a sort of political godsend is exactly what we should expect from the left. Where even in death he is still the "dear leader". Only the left would worship at the altar of a dead man. You never see such a sickening display of affection towards a politician than from the left and their perceived heroes. Layton and Obama are fantastic recent examples of this disgusting phenomenon where it's almost as if the supporters are wishing for some sort of benevolent dictatorship.
  20. Of course he would. He was political not just to the last second, but even afterwards. His whole final "manifesto" and subsequent politicized funeral (with full support from his family) weren't indicative enough for you? This is exactly what Jack Layton wanted.
  21. By the way, nice job with the plagiarism, CitizenX. Pretending as if this is some original idea of yours... So pathetic.
  22. Wow, this guy just watched "The Corporation" and now thinks he can use language like "evil" to describe these institutions. I bet a week or two ago CitizenX was saying something along the lines of evil not existing while making apologies for Islamism and terrorists.
  23. Is anyone surprised to see this leftist talk about such extremist reductions of personal freedoms? As I said, fascism has much more in common with the contemporary left (see exhibit A - CitizenX) than with the right. The left loves government control to chase ghosts such as "overpopulation".
  24. What's "extreme" is for irrelevant outsiders with no connection to this conflict to be pretending they understand it and advocating for more of the same policies - waiting for some koombaya moment that will never happen. And while we wait, more Jewish blood is spilled by the Islamic terrorists. Almost a million Jewish people were forcefully removed from their homes in Muslim-majority countries following the reestablishment of Israel. It's time to return to the favour. Repatriate these "Palestinians" to their real homes. We cannot live with them. Coexistence is clearly not happening. The Arabs/Muslims want all of this land and the destruction of Israel as the Jewish homeland. I am not speaking about a minority of the "Palestinians", either. It an OVERWHELMING majority, both in Israel and in the territories. Look at the political positions of Hamas, Fatah, or even Shas or other "pro-Palestinian" political parties in Israel. Or look at the political positions of "pro-Palestinian" NGOs in Israel and abroad. Peace is impossible with these people. They ALL hate Israel. So, as a minimum, the vast majority of "Palestinians" should have their citizenship revoked in Israel, and ideally, most of them removed and sent to Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Egypt, or elsewhere. Anywhere but here. Then we'll have much more security. We've seen about over a century of violence from them in this land, long before 1967 and long before 1948. And prior to that, centuries of oppression with living under Muslim-majority rule as second-class citizens. When you've got a terrible track record for centuries, you've lost all trust.
  25. He's absolutely right, and it echoes what very few Israelis have been saying for decades (it's hard for many to say no to what they think is "free money"). Many more billions of dollars go to our enemies than to us, so if a sudden halt to foreign aid took place right now, it'd hurt the other Arab/Muslim countries a lot more than us. Moreover, we are far more educated and have a much more dynamic economy than the Arabs/Muslims, we'd do much better in such a scenario. All they really have is oil, they have no innovation (unlike us, where most of our economy is through innovation in the knowledge sector). Foreign aid, in many ways, poisons the relationship between the USA and Israel. America is constantly playing both sides of the fence, and placing bandages on a political hemorrhage. A big part of me that feels that without America, this conflict would have already been resolved a long time ago. Or, at the very least, would be a lot closer to a resolution.
