New Group wants to talk about immigration reform

So you are actually 'for' genocidal, racist policies are you? If the shoe fits... Please, be my guest - I am thoroughly encouraging you to make your attempt - I won't even tell them that you are on your way. But take the tinfoil hat off when passing through their security barriers though, you will set off the alarms. -
Then perhaps you wouldn't mind supplying a few contemporary real world examples instead of the touchy-feely anecdotal impressionism that you so hate yourself. I think Pliny is trying to raise an interesting idea about language in politics, but without some specificity it is more of a glob than a point. Otherwise it ends up with 6 being 9, right being wrong, left being right, we being I and so on and so on. Do they? Prove it.

I think the oversimplification and resultant obfuscation is a direct functional result of the way in which your narrative is constructed through the attribution of stereotypical rhetoric to imaginary persons. In other words, you are creating a strawman argument. How about giving a few real world examples that stay away from Stalin and Nazis? You know, actual quotes from real contemporary "left wing leaders" that can be shown in an event-chain as revealing motive to particular acts. Otherwise you are just guessing in the most general of ways.

You said they were "driven out" not I. Prove to me they were "driven out" as opposed to leaving on their own accord because of the blowback from apartheid. Oh, wait, did I say "apartheid?" How that little word has been so conveniently been left out of the discussion when it comes to white emigration out of South Africa. I wonder why? So go ahead, show your proof that a million of them were "driven out." Can't? Didn't think so. -
Online security and social networking

I use Facebook which I believe is 'pretty secure' for what I use it for. I don't post anything too private or worthwhile and I have pretty restricted profile view rights. I use it to keep in touch with family, friends, colleagues and such. If some megacorp wants to track me on Facebook they are gonna be pretty disappointed with the trail. I am not concerned about privacy issues, but the average user should RTFM and be aware of what it is and what it's limits are... -

The fact is that 3 in 4 white South Africans have remained, that is 75%. Hey, look at all these Yanks living elsewhere - over a million of them in Mexico, almost as many in Canada... Americans flooding other countries, half a million of them in Asia alone. You know what that means...yep, Walmart, McDonalds and hot apple pie. Pretty soon they'll all be playing baseball... whoops, too late. All because of a racist policy enacted by a racist white minority government. Like I said earlier, start with learning about the treaties. And yet they are bringin' 'em on in. Oh but you are! I think you are a self-genocidist bent on destroying the white race because you have advocated several times: "white countries for everyone." It seems to me you are all for the genocidal wiping out of white people and maybe some beige and light cream coloured people to boot. Research your posts, everyone else has seen it - you are the one that said "white countries for everyone." You genocidal maniac you. Nice try Dorothy, blame the government and then run to the hills so you don't get genocided. -
Meanwhile, in other news: Horror films lead to obscenity charges I guess Inner Depravity must be a little more over the top than Dead Girl...

The key is to get the women to make an informed decision themselves. Like abortion. -
Meh, I wonder what the Chinese government thinks of US dissidents, you know, the ones that beefed about the NSA surveillance program? According to this report, having a few spills per year is "rare" or just selective reading? According to this report the US has had it's fair share of mining disasters. According to this list, the US has also had it's fair share of industrial disasters which doesn't include the Love Canal or the Hinkley or one of the many thousands of smaller little ol' problems over the years. With a population of over a billion people, a leading economic power, in a civilzation that is thousands of years old, I would hardly call them "failed."

Time for Northern Ontario to Separate?
Shwa replied to grainfedprairieboy's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
I think what should happen is that a Premiere be elected from above the French and Mattawa imaginary boundary. Then this person - the Premiere of the Province of Ontario - would be in a powerful position to... hey wait a minute. Mike Harris was from Nippissing and how did that work out? Perhaps Northern Ontarioans don't give a crap about each other as much as they do about looking good in Toronto? On the other hand, while I disagree it is necessary for Northern Ontario to separate other than to satisfy the game schedule at the Brier, I do believe that they could do with some upgrades. -

And yet most of the white people have remained in South Africa. So consider this point lost. Nope. My idea of balancing it out is that the new ruling government tried to reverse the inequities that specified most of the best farmland for a white colonist minority which were set up through blatantly racist policies by the white minority government. As I said earlier, it appears that you do not have any clue when you are talking about Native cultures and all you are doing is over-emphasizing that point. However, should you wish to start educating yourself, start with the treaties... So are you ascribing an opinion of a so-called "many" as to what the reality is for an entire country? Immigration Bureau of Japan No one is saying they don't have their conservatice issues or limit immigration like we do, but they are bringing 'em in... Japanese Immigration Policy "As of the end of 2004, 1.97 million foreign nationals were registered in Japan, accounting for about 1.6 percent of the total population (127.69 million) and representing a 1.3 percent increase from 1.7 million in 2000. (See Table 1.) Koreans composed the largest group (607,000), followed by Chinese (488,000), Brazilians (287,000), and Filipinos (199,000). Well over 90 percent of resident foreigners came from either Asia (74 percent) or South America (18 percent). Approximately 41 percent of registered foreigners are permanent residents, including 466,000 "special permanent residents," or former colonial migrants and their descendants. " So? If the shoe fits wear it and quit being a big baby about it. Sheesh. Oh right, it's the governments fault. Nice try Dorothy. -
I like this, although I doubt the emphasis on government's responsibilities is the final say. Here is the true melting pot: While dropping my kid off at school at lunch, I saw this young South Asian lad attired in what looked to be traditional clothing. It looked nice, all lose and light. Ideal for a tropical climate. But it won't wear well in the winter that's for sure. We are northern people and sooner or later one must adapt or plan to spend the rest of their life indoors. Our climate - ironically the freezing months - do more for the 'melting pot' than any government narrative is going to. On top of that - where does one go to buy suitable clothing? Well, welcome to The Bay, Sears, Walmart, Zellers... It might be a pretty Sari under that parka, but make no mistake - it is a nice warm parka that overrules it all. And usually mitts or gloves, toques, warm socks... all this stuff has been designed for the climate. OK, maybe I am emphasising climate too much as a determinant factor of assimilation and acculturation, but it can't be ignored. And as a northern people winter looms large here, we play in it, write about it, walk about in it, bitch about it and generally make do. And we certainly dress for it.

Prime Minister Mulroney had the right to refuse the request by way of instruction to the Attorney General that the request was without merit or through a legal challenge to the request.

Not so fast... .But outside or the restricted area, one can protest abortions right? You see, you didn't limit your original statement to include special circumstances, but in fact it is not "illegal to protest" abortion in Canada. There are all kinds of special circumstances to where and when all kinds of protests may be held. This is interesting and, since there is a "lengthy list of cases" perhaps you might have a cite handy for that where the actual charge had to do with the protest of SSM and not, say a charge of threatening and such.

Boys Are Failing Girls (in multiple ways)

I really hate to reduce that tome to a single line to reply, but where it's apt... It always has rested with women, don't you have a mother? -
I would be glad to. Once you show me where protesting abortions and same sex marriage is illegal.

True up until the point where the National Defence Act was invoked and mobilized the Van Doos among others. This was while Brian Mulroney was the Prime Minister of Canada.

Ontario Approves Witnesses in Burkas

"But being an adult woman in a burka is not on of those exceptions" sounds like a rule to me, thus: "There might be exceptions to the rule" -

So the accused decides what admissible evidence is do they? Now THAT... is a concept I wouldn't want to be too quick to endorse. -
All available as planks to McGuinty as well, before an election is called. As a gesture of goodwill to the people of Ontario.
