  1. So the unmarked graves aren't getting counted. Neither are the areas of total chaos like Fallujah. If it isn't a speculative poll, it's just the heads they've physically counted and those numbers, therefore, are crap. Actually, they have found about 300 mass graves. Take a look at the pics, if you like. 300 mass graves in the 24 years Saddam was in power. So why did the left throw their support behind Saddam to keep him in power? Oh right. Because Bush didn't like him and the left always takes the side of Bush's enemies. If Bush found a cure for cancer, the left would be complaining about the high unemployment rate amongst laboratory mice.
  2. Good grief. A link to "the progressive voice of Canada" trumpeting the thoroughly discredited Lancet survey. So now the 100,000 figure has been upped to 150,000 in the "reality-based" community. Why don't you just go for the Gold? How about a nice even figure of 1 MILLION Iraqis killed with 99.9% of the killed being women and children? After all, everyone knows that the USA's goal is to kill as many civilians as possible--especially women and children.
  3. Newspaper CEO, David McGuinty may enter Grit race: The Liberals go to the CBC when they appoint Governor Generals. The Aspers--who own Global TV--are longtime Liberals, although to be fair, I think their news coverage is quite balanced. And now this with the CEO of Torstar Corp, which owns the far-left Toronto Star. Isn't Canada's MSM cozy relationship with the Liberal Party wrong? How can the public trust the MSM when it comes to reporting on the Liberal Party? Please refrain from dragging the US into this. I know that Ted Turner is very liberal but I do not recall him running for the Democrat Party. I know that Dan Rather is a propagandist for the Democrat Party (speaking at Democrat fundraisers, Memogate, etc), but he never ran for the Democrat Party either.
  4. What is it with liberals and their "mock trials? Obviously this was a cooked "byelection" full of liberals. Most conservatives don't waste their time on "mock byelections". Recall the childish stunt the Democrats did when they had a mock trial--in the House--about whether Bush should be impeached. You see these clowns protesting with paper mache puppets, protest signs comparing Bush to Hitler, calling for the destruction of Israel, and props like flag-draped coffins when they protest in front of Walter Reed military hospital. Thank God the grownups are in charge of Canada and the US.
  5. Thats a shocking result, I mean, they set up a voting booth and invite their compatriots down there to vote. I doubt if anyone that is mature enough to know anything about our system just didn't bother wasting their time with a useless protest. He's not stepping down. Give up. No one broke any laws, you elected him. He's now better representing you in cabinet. I really wish these Vancouverites would see how absolutely stupid they are for asking their only representation to step aside to make way for a useless member of the NDP. Blind partisanship is what it is. Emerson hasn't changed any views, yet it was great when he was a Liberal and not good as a Conservative. Shows ignorance on their part. Oh well, you didn't do your research, and found out he was always quite a conservative that could sit comfortably on either side of the house. Now you have to deal with it until next election. If the man was a socalist and all of a sudden became a fascist, maybe I could see a point. But he will not change how he'll vote on any issue because of the switch. Your claims are unjustified Vancouver-Kingsway, you sound like a bunch of ignorant fools. Enjoy a couple years of having a Conservative MP.. Belinda Stronach...... Chris Brison.... You sentiments were echoed twice. Funny eh. Belinda Stronach was bribed (she wasn't a member in Harper's cabinet) to prevent the Liberals losing the non-confidence vote. Funny eh, indeed. I have no comment on Mr Fancy Pants Scott Brison.
  6. I didn't watch it. I do not like to support Hollywood because of their liberal political views. I understand that Jon Stewart stunk out the joint. Good. Can't stand his smirking mug and he is not funny. I am constantly amazed at how many leftists I talk to who say they get their "news" from his show. George Clooney admitted that "We are a little bit out-of-touch in Hollywood", then added, "I think that's probably a good thing." And I understand that Hollywood again refused to say anything about murdered filmmaker Theo Van Gogh. Btw, Ann Coulter didn't do too well in her 1st annual Oscar predictions column. Let take a look at her picks: Crash won. She got that one right. Ang Lee won. Gaysians. Hoffman won. Reese Witherspoon won. Tsotsi won. 2 for 5. Better luck next year, Ann.
  7. Sharkman: Exactly. But the collectivists on the left don't seem to understand that. They seem to march in lockstep and have a mindset where there is no room for differences of opinion; ideology appears to be everything to them. Look at the number of leftists on MLW that were defending Islam and saying that Christianity is just as bad. How many Christian suicide bombers are there out there? I don't recall Christians beheading "infidels". There were no killings and rioting worldwide when Piss Christ and the elephant dung-covered Madonna were shown to the public. They even defended Dear Leader when Clinton committed perjury, obstructed justice, and intimidated witnesses. Some here tried to make a big deal out of Bill O'Reilly announcing that he felt that things weren't going well in Iraq. So what? He has cable news' #1 rated show and I am sure he has his fans, but he does not speak for the Republican Party or conservatives. And he is entitled to his opinion--he is a pundit. There are conservatives out there that feel the same as O'Reilly. Conservatives tend to be individualists, they don't tend to march in lockstep, so sometimes they disagree with each other. I think that is A Good Thing™. Nothing wrong with healthy debate. A few examples, including a Canadian one... 1) John McCain: Very popular with many conservatives. Also intensely disliked by many conservatives. Usually appears in the Top 3 in both "who would you like to be the 2008 nominee" and "who would you least like to be the 2008 nominee" in conservative polls. 2) Ann Coulter: Usually appears in the Top 10 for both "favorite columnist/pundit" and "least favorite columnist/pundit" in conservative polls. 3) Dubai Ports World deal: Hearty debate on the right about that topic. Both sides make some good points. 4) Emerson crossing over to the Conservatives from the Liberal Party. There was boisterous debate about that amongst conservatives. Again, both sides had some good arguments.
  8. Drew Bedson: Talk about spin, or to be blunt, crap! Bush said no such thing. Jan 31/2006 SOTU address
  9. 72% of the troops would like to be at home with their wives and kids within the next 12 months? I'm shocked to hear this. Shocked, I tell ya. Why do leftists repeatedly show such contempt for the masses? Do you really think the public will fall for your attempt to make a mountain out of a molehill? What soldier wouldn't want to be back home within a year with their family, sleeping in their own bed instead of a tent, and lugging 50 lbs of equipment all day in 40C heat? It's just plain common sense. I'm surprised the poll number (72%) is so low!
  10. No, this is not about progressives protesting outside the Walter Reed Military Hospital, complete with props like flag-draped coffins, and taunting injured soldiers. No, this is not about leftists chasing military recruiters off campuses. No, this is not about gay-hating registered Democrat "Reverend" Fred Phelps and his band of merry godhatesfags weasels protesting during the funerals of fallen soldiers. Let's put on our asbestos suits and go for a tour inside the Democratic Underground Message Boards (DUMB). This is the largest Democratic community on the internet. It is wildly popular on the left. John Edwards' wife has posted there and so has Michigan Congressman John Conyers. It is a partisan site. Don't expect anything fair-and-balanced. One of their message board rules states "If you think overall that George W. Bush is doing a swell job, or if you wish to see Republicans win, or if you are generally supportive of conservative ideals, please do not register to post, as you will likely be banned." So.....a thread is started: Okay. One of the few Democrats in Iraq has come home after 8 months, drops into the DU and asks if anyone has any questions about his tour/what's it like/etc? The 3rd reply was this from Freedomangel82: Well, if Stephanie Miller from "progressive" talk (hate) radio says so, then it must be true. The soldier replies: And then it goes downhill from there. The progressives immediately want to know about depleted uranium, white phosphorus, the civil war, the quagmire, atrocities committed by contractors, low troop morale (the *shocking* poll that said that 72% of the troops would like to be back home with their families within the next 12 months), how can he gauge the attitude of the Iraqi soldiers if his Arabic is poor (soldier replies: You try going on a couple hundred combat patrols with the Iraqis. You learn their attitude pretty fast), and a bunch of other leftoid memes that run rampant in the "reality-based" community. The soldier calmly and politely dismisses their allegations and suggests that the media is not telling the truth about Iraq. (Duh!) The progressives don't like what the soldier is telling them, so DU poster 'Jara sang' replies to the soldier: I can just feel the tolerance and compassion... Incredibly, the soldier remains civil and continues to politely answer any questions, but the progressive liberals do not like his answers. So they attack him and say that he is brainwashed, a liar, and stupid. Unbelieveably the soldier still ignores the verbal abuse and continues to be civil. Then further down the page 'Nini" posts to the soldier: Why is your profile disabled? Yep. The commie moderators at the DUMB banned the soldier for not marching in lockstep with the left's talking points. This soldier was essentially politely "dissenting", yet they banned him. But I thought that "dissent was patriotic". Or is it because he was being patriotic when he dissented from progressive liberal moonbat memes? Can't have any patriotism--except when dissenting...but he got banned for dissenting. It's so confusing being a progressive liberal! Note: The soldier never said anything about Bush and he did not say anything about conservative ideals--banning offences.
  11. By a 46% to 40% margin. (it's not a large margin but it is a start) So do Americans, by a 60 to 32 margin. So does Brazil, by a 65 to 29 margin. So does Poland, by a 65 to 18 margin. So does Great Britain, by a 49 to 40 margin. So does Finland, Kenya, Nigeria, the Philippines, India, Australia and Afghanistan. And so does Iraq, by a 74 to 23 margin. But but but...I thought the Iraqis hated the US for toppling Saddam. Didn't the Iraqis watch Fahrenheit 9-11? Haven't the Iraqis been listening to the Western Left? Don't they know about the Quagmire, the Civil War, the Theocracy, that Bush held a plastic turkey when he visited the troops at Thanksgiving, the Iraqis who attacked the fallen Saddam statue were zionist neocon CIA plants, it's costing too much to liberate Iraqi children, stealing the oil, and the wholesale slaughter of 100,000 innocent Iraqi civilians, minorities being used as fodder - the caucasion soldiers are merely dumb jocks - for Bush's illegal and immoral war, and whatever the hell is playing this week on the Liberal Meme CD. Where do you get this info, canada doesn't want anything to do with Iraq. Come back and try again. I got it from the Vancouver Sun link I left in the OP. It is a BBC global survey. Don't blame me if more Canadians than not appear to support liberty. Saddam being toppled hurts Chretien - and Martin - financially but thems the breaks.
  12. If this was a political science class, I still wouldn't like it. However I wouldn't ban his delusional ranting--unlike liberals who try to ban creationsim being taught in religion classes. Plus his student said he devotes only 20% of class to geography; the other 80% goes to his political rants. He should be fired for not doing his job.
  13. It is a Grade 10 GEOGRAPHY class. Quit trying to muddy the waters so you can justify your "it's all good" views.
  14. You've never heard of the Salman Pak terrorist training camp? You know, the one with a passenger jet on which terrorists sharpened their air piracy skills. I have a judgement in a court of law. What do you have to match that?
  15. Video (4:56) of 16 y/o Sean Allen (student who taped Bennish's Hate America blatherings) on Hannity & Colmes. Colmes talks to him and then Hannity talks to him; fair and balanced. Sean Allen has some interesting things to say--like how about 80% of class time was devoted to Bennish spewing his political views, and only about 20% was devoted to geography instruction.
  16. President Bush goes on trial in New Jersey high school class: Don't you just love these Bush hatefests? Typical liberal-speak. It's not a trial, it's just a hearing. *wink wink nudge nudge* He appears to make sense but if you look closer you can see that he is not credible: 1) He is a former sheriff, therefore he is likely tough on crime. That ain't liberal! 2) His last name is Fox...the same moniker as that evil lying Fox News Channel. I smell a Rovian rat!
  17. Yep. Allegations and visits from Al Queda are not indications of pre knowlege, much less collaboration considering every country in the world has or has had Al Queda cells operating in it. If one were to carry this a bit futher and seen how Canada is so weak with Kadr and his ilk we could make an argument of how Cretien planned it alongside them all. Now, go a bit further and involve some Al Queda strategy and Bush's vision. Arab countries are all Muslim, and, all Arab. A fact missed by most people when they view them simply as backward freaks. See, the Caliphate was the last time these guys ever meant anything at all to anybody - including themselves. Since then (twelfth century) they have talked about returning the glory of - THE ARAB NATION - meaning the Caliphate. Lybia, Egypt, Syria, Iraq all have at one time or another talked of this with them being the Leader of same of course. This is the mission that Al Queda is on - to revive the Caliphate. To go against this vision is to pronounce yourself as anti Muslim and anti Arab. Quite the stretch for a weak government to take an active part in. Hence, weak governments of the Arab and Muslim world take a 'fence sitting' approach to it all. Part of Bush's vision was to stop this inactive yet permissive cooperation by proving to the world that the US would stay the course, unlike previous cut and runs like Viet Nam, Lebannon, Somalia and such. Let them know that when they make their choice, the US will be there to back them up. Otherwise, a world full of fence sitters and Al Queda weakening them every day by separating government from people in acts of terrorism. The point being is that they cooperate in a messed up sort of way. They have dealings with one another in official and unofficial ways that we in the west have difficulty in understanding. For an Arab to turn his back on an Arab nationalist group like Al Queda is a big deal. One that sets you up for a fall unless you can withstand it. Saddam was strong but didn't invite enemies from within. In fact, he played the Saladine Arab thing up himself to the hilt. To turn his back on Al Queda if they asked for a favor would be a problem he would not wish upon his country and would use as best he could. On the other hand, Al Queda is smart. Much smarter than people give them credit for. They've seen how Palestinian groups and cells were turned in by intelligence from East Germany in exchange by the Super and the great powers and they didn't colude with anybody that could turn on them later in some sort of deal. Hence, if Saddam knew anything about 911, it was not connected to the overal plan. the plan that took hundreds of Al Queda operatives, English speaking operatives with first world savvy who had proved themselves in battlefields to support, transfer money, set up apartements, set up transport, run to the stores to pul out two hundred dollars and then , undetected reconstitute it into hundreds of thousands of dollars to use for the preparation of the mission. This was Al Queda's mission, to risk giving Saddam an edge or a bargaining chip with the west is unthinkable for Al Queda. Ya, Baer's a moron. And Bennish is only asking people to think. Giving a monthly govt salary--and housing--to a wanted Al Qaeda terrorist from the 1993 attack on America is not "collaboration"? Fixing up Zarqawi in a Baghdad hospital operated by Uday Hussein is not "collaboration?" Are you trying to tell us that Saddam and Sons knew nothing about these guys? And you're calling federal Judge Harold Baer a moron?
  18. No one who isn't a Bush fanatic beleives the was any significant link between Saddam and Al Queda. And you more or less prove my point: you are not interested in seeing teachers/press/media express balanced opinions of the issues. You want them to spout propaganda that you approve of. Geography often includes social studies and political science in high school. I think the topic was appropriate for the class even if the presentation was over the top (anyone who compares their political opponent to Hilter is out of line IMV). Only someone severely inflicted with Bush Derangement Syndrome would deny that Abdul Rahman Yasin fled to Iraq after the declaration of war when the World Trade Center was attacked in 1993--killing 6 and injurying 1042--it could have been worse. Coalition forces discovered documents that showing Yasin enjoyed housing and a monthly govt salary while in Iraq. Even ABC reported it on July 27, 1994, I quote: "Last week, [television program] Day One confirmed [Yasin] is in Baghdad…Just a few days ago, he was seen at [his father’s] house by ABC News. Neighbors told us Yasin comes and goes freely." Abu Musab al Zarqawi is probably the world's most wanted terrorist--after Osama bin Laden. After the Taliban was toppled, an injured Zarqawi fled to Iraq and discovered records show that he was treated at Olympic hospital, operated by Saddam’s son, Uday. In January 2000, Malaysian intelligence took photographs of Ahmed Hikmat Shakir, an Iraqi intelligence operative, at key planning meetings with al Qaeda members for the bombing of the USS Cole and September 11 attacks. Jane's Foreign Report, a respected newsletter, reported that in October 2000, Salah Suleiman, an Iraqi intelligence operative, was arrested at the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. Jane’s reported that he was shuttling between Iraq intelligence and Ayman al-Zawahiri, al Qaeda’s #2 guy. On February 3, 1998, Ayman al Zawahiri, bin Laden's Egyptian deputy, came to Baghdad for meetings with Iraqi leaders. The visit came as Islamic radicals gathered once again in the Iraqi capital for another installation of Hussein's Popular Islamic Conferences. Iraqi vice president Taha Yasin Ramadan welcomed them on February 9 with the language of jihad ... We do not have reporting on when, exactly, Zawahiri left Baghdad. But we do know from an interrogation of a senior Iraqi Intelligence official that he did not leave empty-handed. As first reported in U.S. News & World Report, the Iraqi regime gave Zawahiri $300,000 during or shortly after his trip to Baghdad. And your "Geography often includes...political science in high school" claim doesn't fly.
  19. Drew Bedson: So federal judge Harold Baer is a moron? Interesting...coming from someone who says that Jay Bennish "is OK in my books".
  20. I suspect you would have no problem if he was telling the students that Saddam linked to 9-11 and Al-Queda despite the fact that such a statement is a proven lie. Bushies love propaganda and have no shame using it - as long as they can control it. Saddam was linked to Al Qaeda. Duh! Everyone knows that. One of the 1993 World Trade Center bombers fled to Iraq and was put on a govt salary. Zarqawi fled to Iraq after the Taliban fell and was treated in an Iraqi hospital for a wound he suffered while fighting in Afghanistan. As for Saddam and 9-11, no one knows for sure. But we do know that Clinton appointed federal judge Harold Baer awarded two 9-11 families $104 million in damages against the state of Iraq for its complicity in 9-11. And this was a GEOGRAPHY class, not a religion class, or a pro-gay marriage class. As for propaganda, no one is as masterful at it as the Left.
  21. A crusty old Marine Sergeant Major found himself at a gala event hosted by a local liberal arts college. There was no shortage of extremely young, idealistic ladies in attendance, one of whom approached the Sergeant Major for conversation. "Excuse me, Sergeant Major, but you seem to be a very serious man. Is something bothering you?" "Negative, ma'am. Just serious by nature." "The young lady looked at his awards and decorations and said, "It looks like you have seen a lot of action." "Yes, ma'am, a lot of action." The young lady, tiring of trying to start up a conversation, said, "You know, you should lighten up a little. Relax and enjoy yourself." The Sergeant Major just stared at her in his serious manner. Finally the young lady said, "You know, I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but when is the last time you had sex?" "1955, ma'am." "Well, there you are. You really need to chill out and quit taking everything so seriously! I mean, no sex since 1955!" She took his hand and led him to a private room where she proceeded to "relax" him several times. Afterwards, panting for breath, she leaned against his bare chest and said, "Wow, you sure didn't forget much since 1955!" The Sergeant Major, glancing at his watch, said in his matter-of-fact voice, "I hope not, it's only 2130 now."
  22. General Sada, formerly Sadfam’s #2 Air Force commander, recently told the New York Sun that Saddam’s WMD were moved to Syria just 6 weeks before the US-led invasion. Then Ali Ibrahim, one of Saddam's commanders in northern Iraq came forward to confirm this. Or you could have a look-see for yourself. Scroll down to the 3rd item. Warning to liberals: Do NOT click on "General Thomas McInerney on Saddam's WMD Tapes". It takes you to a tape of McInerney being interviewed on Faux News' The O'Lielly Factor. Don't click that link! I do not want you to become blind(er) than usual. I see that investors.com has reported this but the rest of the MSM is essentially ignoring these tapes from the source himself: Saddam Hussein (and his inner circle).
  23. As Ronald Reagan would say: There you go again. I stated that it was extremely doubtful that Clinton would have won in 1992 because Perot took 1/3 of the votes from Bush Sr. Indeed, Clinton only got 43% of the vote. Then you compared it to the 5% of the vote that Nader took from al-Gore in 2000. Not.even.close. And I told you that if nader hadn't run it would have been extremley unlikely that Bush would have won the election, Bush won by a couple hundred votes in Florida. I am not trying to equate 5% to 18%. I am merely pointing out that both won the election because of vote spliting, nader's was much more localised/smaller but in the end it did the same thing. Would bush have won in 1992 probabley, would Gore have won in florida in 2000, probabley. I am not trying to say 5% equals 18% but the end result was the same. Kind of like Shooting a guy in the head with a shot gun and shooting a guy in the head with a little pistol, they both end up dead. How did you arrive at 18%? Perot split the right by taking 34%, not 18%.
  24. Does the reverse apply? Should people with no scientific backgrounds whatsoever get input into a field where they have no expertise? Exhibit A: Conspiciuous in its abscence in this list of qualifications is an actual science degree. So: Steve Milloy is not a scientist. Milloy is a bought-and-paid for shill, having spent his career suckling at the teat of Exxon-Mobile and Philip Morris. As usual, Black Dog shoots his mouth off before even reading my link. Milloy uses numbers given by Kyoto advocates and skeptics alike. Then he employs statistics--something he is certainly qualified in. He also gives numerous links to credible - disqualifying al-Gore - studies from non-partisan organizations who came up with similar figures. As for spending an entire career sucking at the teat...yes, David Suzuki has spent his career sucking at the teat of the Canadian taxpayer.
  25. Let's take a look at previous behaviour by Shapiro the "Ethics" Commissioner: Good on the Harper administration for essentially telling this Liberal lackey to go pee up a rope.
