  1. Your welcome?
  2. read the articles The body Bag incident was that in addition to H1N1 supplies health Canada sent body bags along to resupply those reservations according to them. You've only described how it appears. Finally what the hell does this have to do with harper? If you actually think he cares about / exerts authority over logistics in northern manitoba the liberal party has seriously messed you up.
  3. I know and then it gets raised in parliament.
  4. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/nation...article1291664/ http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/politi...article1291184/ http://www.theglobeandmail.com/blogs/burea...article1291799/ "Opposition parties all worked to express their outrage in Question Period over a Health Canada move to send body bags to a First Nations community in Manitoba. And the government tried to make sure they expressed even more outrage." Globe and Mail sept 17 Why has this even become an issue?
  5. ... How? ... Did he reincarnate? Because anyone who reincarnates as Bob Rae clearly got the bitch end of karma. maybe he's changed I've never met the man. His political score card however is as bad as it can get for someone and to still be in politics. You can vote for him but i really doubt the rest of Ontario would.
  6. Question: Assuming that there is an election and that there is another conservative government. Who's most likely replace Iggnatieff as leader of the Liberal party? As far as I can see there really isn't anyone unless Frank McKenna descends from above and resurrects the ashes that is currently the liberal party of Canada.
  7. What your saying all depends on how bad swine flu actually turns out be, or if the second wave comes at all. I don't think it will be an issue the next election or will effect voting patterns. Unless it becomes something like the Spanish flu.
  8. you forget we're talking about politicians here. Used cars salesmen are more trusted then they. It not just conservatives that are liars, It's anyone with an agenda. Have you forgotten the sponsorship scandal already? As I said earlier the liberals are likely underestimating the costs. so don't get an erection just because the conservatives may be overestimating the cost. Your only falling for obvious politicking. this whole argument is worthless until the cost of EI reform is independantly confirmed.
  9. what ever happened to the good old days of CIA led coups? lol
  10. What where you guys expecting? Of course the conservatives are going to overestimate the cost of something that they don't want to pass. But you forget that the liberals are also probably underestimating the cost. We have no independent estimate of what this is likely to cost. This whole EI reform issue has become lame ass politicing.
  11. I think the biggest problem with this issue is that it has never been encountered and that the laws in effect do not describe the situation. We have to admit that in Canada we are charging him with treason (which he is clearly guilty of, you know fighting for al qaeda [bleeding hearts far too often over look this]). Had he been a terrorist in Canada our only issue would be in sentencing as to whether or not to charge him as youth offender or an adult because I don't believe that the youth offender act covers acts of treason. However enter the really complicating part: he was fighting in Afghanistan and based solely on age he is considered a "Child Soldier". Now the idea behind child soldiers was to protect children forced into combat. There are to options to consider from this point one that his father indoctrinated him to the point where he had no choice but to fight. Or that he was a willing participant in the conflict. we may be able to define him as a child soldier. Regardless what we often forget in our liberal society is that the final decision must be made to as to whether of not he is a threat to society. Whether or not he is an indoctrinated or a willing participant he remains a threat to society. for two reasons: one that we cannot be sure as to whether he is still a terrorist or not. Two that if defined as a child soldier this gives terrorist the ability to use children with the full knowledge that the world has no ability to take action against them. Only encouraging them use children.
  12. the question I'm asking when Iggnatieff fails to win the federal election. Who's going to replace him as the leader of the liberal party?
  13. ... How to say this politely... Jerry you are grievously mistaken to assume that a gripe about EI reform and empty campaign promises is some kind of view/vision/charted pathway for the country. If you actually look at the the criticisms Mr. Iggnatieff has leveled against the changes in the EI Reform. The are minor technicalities at best. In addition to this the history of issue demonstrates clearly that Mr. Iggnatieff is exploiting this issue politically and has no interest in EI reform. Yes I would agree that job losses and the current recession does not look good for the government. (it never does) but that does not justify the political maneuvering Mr. Iggnatieff is doing. you still have offered anything concrete as to what Mr. Iggnatieff would like to do if elected. "we can do better" is too vague I agree with Toadbrother we currently do not have any leaders that have a vision for the country.
  14. Agreed
  15. I would agree on a cultural level that the "bloc paradox" makes sense. But you cannot over look the fact that the Bloc is still a separatist party regardless of the outcome.
  16. I'm sorry I'm kind of jumping in here but I saw this post from earlier and couldn't help but reply. Jerry, What view/vision/charted pathway are you talking about? Mr. Iggnatieff has been in in country for I believe it is five years now + about one year as leader of opposition. As far as I can remember he has not identified himself with any major issue. He does not carry himself as a reformer, while also not being a conservative. he has not passed any major bills through parliament. He has not dedicated himself with anything specific. So I ask again what view/vision/charted pathway are you talking about? The only position that I have seen Mr. Iggnatieff presenting himself with (based on his recent precamaign videos) is that he is not Harper. is that the view/vision/charted pathway you are talking about? Because I am sorry that is not a view/vision/charted pathway is really just sad.
