Israeli Navy Raids Gaza Aid Flotilla, 10 Confirmed Dead

These humanitarian organizations investigate and report illegal activities by any organization. Even NATO. So neither you or Dancer have made any point. -
Israeli Navy Raids Gaza Aid Flotilla, 10 Confirmed Dead
naomiglover replied to JB Globe's topic in The Rest of the World
You are posting from a site called palwatch.org You are as extreme as those who find their material from sites such as jewwatch. Fact is that 9 peace activists were killed and many were injured. If Israel had nothing to hide, they would allow an independent investigation. Just like the recent Gaza massacre, Israel does not want to cooperate with an independent investigation, because the Israeli government knows that it's at fault. -

That's quite the wild statement. Care to back up your claim that school kids are blown up by suicide bombers every day? How about just tell us the last time school kids were blown up by suicide bombers. Are you here to have a discussion or are you here to lie? -

You have no credibility. Criticize Israel and you are considered an anti-semite. In Goldston'e case, a self-hating Jew. Not to mention all of the humanitarian organizations who have concluded that Israel committed war crimes. Amnesty International Human Rights Watch B-Teslem Red Cross Numerous Israeli Rights Organizations All of these groups are motivated by Jew hatred. Right. -

You just said that East Jerusalem is no longer occupied and part of Israel. Not one country (except for Israel) accepts your comment. Not even Israel's staunchest ally, U.S.A. Why must you always try to battle against facts? -

Sep 29, 2000 to Feb 5, 2009: Palestinian civilians killed : 4,596 Israeli civilians killed: 731 Close to half of the Israeli civilians killed are settlers on Palestinian territory, in which, many are armed thugs who engage in violent acts against Palestinians. How about the children? Palestinian children killed: 1,487 Israeli children killed: 123 http://www.ifamericansknew.org/stats/deaths.html These are numbers from B'Tselem, which are considered conservative numbers compared to the Red Cross. -

The actual number for 2005. What about after this? What about before this? How many Israelis were killed by Israelis? Do you have the numbers? I bet more Israelis were killed by Israelis than Israelis were killed by Palestinian. Do you find that number to be 'interesting'? -

Every country, including Canada do not recognize the annexation because they recognize international law. Yes, even the Harper government does not recognize the annexation. These are the facts. You need to deal with it. You've fallen into another one of your babbling fits. Resolution 242 is the law. If you don't want to recognize international law, then that's your decision. But don't come in here trying to win points by trying to pass yourself as a man of reason, logic and facts. Just admit that you don't care for international law and that you're an unconditional supporter of a state who breaks international law. -
An honest review of the realities of US politics and the US/Israeli relationship. How was President Obama going to justify his love-in with Netanyahu? Nothing had changed since the prime minister kicked Biden in the teeth with his announcement of new settler homes in Jerusalem. There are no serious negotiations, no indications Israel ever intends to begin ending the occupation, and the monstrous blockade on Gaza is as brutal as ever. So what would the President say to announce the new improved "special relationship?" The answer is that it wouldn't have mattered. The goal was simply to get the friction behind us and let the good times roll. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/mj-rosenberg/are-israels-friends-tryin_b_595896.html#comments

Among the large range of goods currently forbidden are jam, chocolate, wood for furniture, fruit juice, textiles, and plastic toys. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/8654337.stm -

Are pasta and crayons still banned by Israel from going into Gaza? I'm glad to see that they finally allowed diapers to go in. -

It's okay for who to ignore the demands for East Jerusalem to be freed from Israeli occupation? -
This time it's somebody other than the usual Palestinians who have been killed. It will come down to a few matters in the next few months, which will determine if things will be any different: - How short is US leash around Turkey, an important NATO member. - How important is business with Israel for Turkey - How long the flame will last in the international community in addressing the blockade and Israel's violations of humanitarian laws - How much longer will the EU governments say what their people want to hear

A Modest Proposal for Mideast Peace for Land
naomiglover replied to jbg's topic in The Rest of the World
My proposal would be to follow international law. I mean, forget the original partition plan when Israel was created. Lets go with the 1967 border. The settlers, since most were brought in by the Israeli government, are considered illegal under international law. East Jerusalem is also considered to be a part of the Palestinian territory. Not sure why you want to propose something that goes against international law. -
Yes. We know that Israel will not do the right thing, but what about Egypt? The Egyptian government is quietly getting away with an atrocity. It's not only going against what is right but also against what its own people want. As small as our voices are, I still believe, even a drop in this large bucket makes a difference.

Finally? Hopefully this won't be another case of the governments pandering to the public outrage for a short period of time, and then back to business as usual.

Who is 'all'? I don't support terrorism. -
Is the devastation our fault as well? Why did it take a group of peace activists to get the world to seriously question the blockade? Why, for all these years, the quartet has gone along with it? What about Egypt? A supposed defender of Palestinians. Why has it contributed to the blockade by sealing its border?

Israel continues to spit in the face of international law
naomiglover replied to naomiglover's topic in The Rest of the World
Israelis have voted in successive governments who have killed scores of Palestinians and have continued to break international law. These violations of international law go well beyond Hamas' years. It includes the years when the PLO was in power. A government who, in writing, accepted the Israeli State and recognized international law pertaining to the area. Most recently, in Gaza around 1000 civilians were killed, including over 300 children. Not to mention the devastating destruction of an already fragile land. Most Israelis have cheered for their government and have tried to excuse this, despite reports and conclusions from reputable and respected organizations, that Israel has committed war crimes. What does this say about Israeli people? -

naomiglover replied to naomiglover's topic in The Rest of the World
Your gangsta talk and your disrespect for international law, which helped to create Israel, is not intimidating. Israel's right to exist has nothing to do with Israel's settlements and land grabbing. We have been past Israel's right to exist excuse for a few decades now. Anyone who uses that in their debates looks almost as foolish as those who use the holocaust to justify Israeli actions towards the Palestinians. If you want to abandon legal, moral and ethical principals because you have the urge to be a "staunch supporter and defender" of something, then go for it. This makes you a bad person. -

Nothing is good enough. This has become obvious. The Israeli government will continue to delay any progress so that they could take as much land as possible while you and the rest of the apologists will continue to apologize for these war criminals. It's an all too familiar cycle. -

What's their/your excuse for Israel's violations of international law during the time PLO was in power? PLO changed its charter to recognize Israel and all international laws relevant to the region. This happened in the late 80's. -

Yes. Thank you for correcting the typo. You didn't answer me. Why are you championing international water laws while continuously justifying violations of other international laws?
