the definition of country is questionable...the Eu has a common currency, a common parliament, common laws and independent state parliaments sounds very similar to the USA...biggest difference appears to be EU states have more independence... and we have foreigner as our head of state...

I think that's due to partisan polling...creating an illusion/atmosphere of winning, encouraging people to join the winning team,...

certainly better than Rasmussen doing phone polling on landlines only...

early on I thought Obama would win Florida but then he appeared to be losing it...so I lowered my guesstimate...

and democrats are counting on that to win in 2016 again, romney moderated his stance to regain the center, a hard right tea party slant will insure a democratic dominance in the future as angry old white guys die off ... the economy will improve, it's inevitable it always does...

"better" weather is entirely subjective, mrs wyly doesn't like heat, my daughters prefer wintesr because they suffer less from allergies, and I've met a number of australians who moved here for our winters(skiing)... I attribute it to the same thing that kept Britain safe for centuries, being surrounded by water, and oceans being an even better barrier than the channel...you may recall our only foreign threat came by land from the very country that you credit with protecting us....it was water and Britain that protected us more than any other reason...through our entire existence as a colony and country no overseas country has ever been seriously capable of threatening us because of our bordering oceans, we're just too damn big and isolated...

if a country can be described as mentally disturbed that would be the USA, singly responsible for much of the worlds ills... I've been there and have no intention of ever returning...,I've turned down/refused down free vacations on the Jersey shore, Vegas, Phoenix, San Diego and Hawaii nothing could tempt me to return....

without immigration our economy is in the toilet, our economic system is dependent on constant growth, we have no natural population growth we would be shrinking if it were not for immigration supplying both labor and consumers... not that I support unlimited growth that idea has a fatal flaw, the country and planet can only support a finite number of people...

why would michigan vote against a new bridge that canada is paying for and will provide jobs.... as well the potential damage to local economy should the existing bridge need to be shut down for repair...it's hard to imagine people being that stupid...

whoops!...good observation WIP...they've shifted the goalposts once again...1st it was there's no evidence for warming... then "it's been warm before this is natural"... now it's "it is anthropogenic but it's okay, it's a good thing and we'll adapt"...if they didn't move the goalposts they'd have no reason for the website($$$) as the number of denier faithful drop in numbers...they're struggling to maintain what little relevance they have left...warmer seas= stronger storms...there will always be hurricanes they will vary in size and strength as usual but the probability of stronger or larger storm occurring will increase, it has to with a warmer ocean...
