the only invasion Iceland was by allied forces in WW2...invasions wars today are infrequent, wars today generally arise from border disputes... -
How much does it cost to change a lightbulb? $2600!?

you can get hurt doing anything, it comes down to probability...large picture, too small a nail/screw for weight, picture falls, glass breaks slices open leg/ foot...anything is possible, shit happens...my sister-in-law a nurse used to work in the ER she has an endless list of "you won't believe this" stories... -

who protects Costa Rica, no one they and they abolished their military and none of it's neighbours have invaded...in fact the biggest military threat to central american states has always been the USA, it has a well established record of invading there... there are a number of countries that the russians and chinese could crush should they wish and the US would do nothing to interfere as nuclear war is the possible end point...but yet the chinese and russia don't invade these countries, the russian's actually cut loose a number of countries from the old USSR, that's hardly typical behaviour of an aggressive state... the country that has invaded more countries than russia or china is the USA... -
So do those Jerk Aussie DJs deserve to be fired?

true but that's common of most radio stations, djs today we have them here as well....we have a station that sets up awkward situations between couples "hi you've just won two tickets to a concert who are you going to take with you" the man/woman names someone other than the BF or GF who already listening in to the conversation... on one occasion a woman discovered her boyfriend was dating her sister, obviously that wasn't going end well... -

from what I've read on the issue the radio station cleared it first with it's lawyers, so the radio station knowingly took active part in the deception... firing employes who carried out the deception isn't on the stations behalf isn't ethical...and if the lawyers are correct they broke no laws... -

try call the ER next time someone you know gets admitted and see if you can get any pertinent info...mrs wyly was in the ER years ago after a serious auto collision, the ER called me at home and told me mrs wyly had been in accident and to come in, no amount of questions from me could pry any info out as to mrs wyly's condition, they just kept repeating the original request for me to come to the ER...the important point here is they called me and still they would not tell me anything, because they could not verify it was me on the phone...I'm assuming that the rule is the same in the UK, no matter who the caller claims to be they should've refused to give any information... -

the nurses weren't really the victims in this prank, the DJs asked for info on a patient and were given it, where is the victim? it wasn't the nurses it was Kate Middleton, it was her confidentiality that was infringed, the nurses shouldn't have supplied the information...that one of the nurses took personal responsibility for the slip up and killed herself wasn't the fault of the DJ's... -

yup..you get good, then you get fast, then you get over confident/careless and there goes a drill through your finger, the end of a finger falls off, a nail through the hand...I hate steel studs, they're always looking to bite you ... -

dangerous beyond belief...often those garage services are 220, conduit with planks lain over top before back-filling(don't recall the depth required)...put a shovel through a 220 and some unsuspecting person is in for a lot of grief...I've turned away clients who wanted me to cut corners and not follow minimum code, if something goes wrong it's my name that goes on the lawsuit... -

correct, I had a drill jump off a screw once and went completely through the finger holding the screw... a massive splinter went right through another finger, or the time I missed a weeks work when I amputated the end of my thumb with a knife and all occurred doing minor/simple tasks...a teacher isn't going to get compensation for any of those...I could write a book of all the injuries I've accumulated over the years and mine were minor compared to other people I've known in the business...then there is the tools thing which I posted earlier, I have many thousands of dollars of tools for nearly every situation something you cannot supply to every school... and even then I still need to rent some uncommon tools, and that needs to be factored into the cost of a job as well... -

gas-fitters, no one does this without a license and all work is inspected huge potential to kill a lot of people... commercial/industrial -licensed electrical sub contractors are required..same as plumbers without a license you're not getting it done...electrical-residential no reputable building contractor is going to hire non licensed electrical contractors it just doesn't happen, a private homeowner can do their own home wiring but it still requires official inspection...non electricians, DIYs cannot wire anything except their own home...and you're right quality work is done by specialists (sub-contractors)who do it right the first time and do it quickly...the idiots that claim they can do everything are the ones that supply me with abundant work and reality shows like Holmes on Homes with endless source of nightmare scenarios... -

I don't what the laws are concerning patient confidentiality in the UK but in Canada those nurses could've been fired for revealing personal patient information to an unknown caller...
