Is Canada's Science Minister a creationalist?
benny replied to Chuck U. Farlie's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Each time you are defining something symbolically (letters or numbers) you are with God. You will stop being with God when scientists will implant in your brain a device that will make you feel a program. -

Science can be traumatic because it so easily opens possibilities that force us to question what the meaning of a human life is. But a truth that doesn't make sense to us is yet another definition of God. -

Yes, evidence is in itself miraculous because objects are not supposed to care about other objects. -

MPs are related to democracy, GG to monarchy. To get ride of a MP, the population has simply to put some pressure or to wait for the next election; to get ride of a Monarch, the people has to be prepared for a revolution. A competent MP is someone who will seduce by his flaws (by showing the way in which his person and his public position are conflicting). A competent Monarch is someone who will seduce by her flesh (by showing the way in which her person and her state function coincide). -
Obama Is Destroying The Economy

One of the dreams of most conservatives is to privatize the money supply. One of the most convenient ways of realizing this dream is by doing what Obama is doing right now. To understand, you have to understand why "euthanasia of the rentier" is behind Keynesianism. -

To me R&D is a very expensive race in which the winner can only hope to be relatively better off from all the losers for a brief moment. -

You need to understand what a contract is. A contract is a device to make social relations predictable. Now, we can apply that conception to your "massive inflation": a steady rate of massive inflation is no motive to sign contract; only price instability and unpredictability is. -

Robbing the public that way will become impossible when the value of money is reduced to its production costs. -

Yes, since the invention of the zero, we have become ourselves zeros. -

I think that for an economy to thrive, the fetishistic aspect of money has to be exposed. Obama is doing just that by creating trillions of dollars out of thin air. -

To me, Goodyear is not a competent MP because he is not open enough about his difficulties to reconcile science and his religion. -

Arguably, Japan was more happy and prosperous when it was only copying US innovations than today with its huge investments in R&D. -

If Goodyear would have acted like the Christian he said he was, he would have accepted to be humiliated by taking on his shoulders all the good and bad sides of the journalists. -

If the Dems had forbidden the bonuses in the wording of their stimulus bill, management at AIG could have reaped their huge bonuses almost as easily. -

What nobody (including Goodyear himself) seems to understand here is that being a creationist and wanting to believe in the literal words of the Bible are two very different things. I think that wanting to believe in the literal words of the Bible means only that one's believe he doesn't need the mediation of a living community or of a superior authority to benefit from the Bible. -

I doubt someone eager to choose the best politicians as MPs would react to way you do here. -
