  1. When hate speech becomes overly cathartic, it is good to remember the symbolic nature of speech.
  2. Because naturalization is necessarily more troublesome than being born with the Canadian citizenship, the worst foreign-born Canadian terrorist has in a way more merit to be Canadian than most of us.
  3. Since the scientific method fundamentally jeopardizes nature's self-correcting mechanisms, what we have to understand is the effects of scientists' subjectivity on their research's objects.
  4. The basis problem we have to face is that taxing something (pot for instance) leads to crime such as tax evasion and black market.
  5. Hard work has no real (i.e. non ideological) place in a sane (i.e. non masochistic) economy because the basic definition of an economy revolves around using talents to spare hardship.

  13. I'm quite ashamed of the us-vs-them mentality of some Canadians.
  14. When you take into account all the tactics used by pharmaceutical companies to eliminate their competitors (lobbying, dubious patent lawsuits, etc.), you have a clear illustration of the incompatibility in between market (black or legal) and public policies/regulations.

He also restated that he was not a Christian theist." I think that "integrated complexity" is a romantic view of what is negentropy or negative entropy is.
  18. Being certain to escape torture is not among the significant reasons to use sophisticated weapons.
  19. If I feel important to play for now devil's advocate with pro-marijuana activists, it is precisely because they don't seem ready enough to start a revolution over what they believe in.

  23. In Portugal, personal consumption limit is 2.5 gram per day of marijuana. One may possess not more than 10 daily doses, otherwise it may be categorized as trafficking. Consumption still has a penalty that may be a fine or other penalty. Cultivation, even if for personal use, is still totally illegal and cultivation of even one plant is assumed to indicate involvement with trafficking. Possession of seeds is also illegal and despite there being several "head shops" or "grow shops" in Portugal, they are not allowed to sell seeds. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legality_of_cannabis
