  1. Yeah, because these events are totally the same thing.
  2. 1. Yes, it was the CPC's fault for the listeria outbreak. Why not blame cancer on them too? 2. There should NEVER be a surplus the size that the Liberals ran. By definition, it means they taxed too much. I'd much prefer an even keel, marginal deficit balanced out by marginal surplus. Should we blame economic cycles on the CPC as well, while we're at it?
  3. Yeah, and I will say the same thing, as long as it is similarly witty.
  4. We are waaaaaay too politically correct in this country. I thought both comments were funny. It wasn't meant for public consumption.
  5. I'm not so sure about that, particularly in today's environment. Rae stepping in as Dion's surrogate is music to the ears of Conservatives, especially when it comes to Ontario. There are not many politicians with as little credibility on the economy as Rae. Having said that, it is refreshing to listen to Rae over Dion when it comes to eloquence and charisma. I am sure it will help the Liberal base, or at least the energy at their campaign stops.
  6. Does anyone know if Danny is paying for all of his efforts and advertising personally, with tax dollars, or in some other manner? I'd be interested to know. Similarly, does anyone know who footed the bill, assuming there was one, for his opposition of Paul Martin last time around?
  7. A caller into CPAC's Primetime Politics tonight made a good point. Why on earth would we trust Stephane Dion to run this country's economy? Quite apart from the devastating and hardly neutral carbon tax, consider: - He hasn't been able to pay back his personal debts for years - His party is virtually insolvent - Bob Rae has apparently been appointed to compensate for Dion, he of the infamous Ontario economy of the early 1990s Those in glass houses...
  8. Yeah, can't be good. Perhaps he'll just spend time busing around Ontario and Quebec for awhile!
  9. I concur. Be careful what you wish for, Lizzy. Once people get word of this and see how she performs in the debate, I suspect the polls will recede. The question is, will the Liberals be adversely affected by being in cahoots with a party running on such a platform, or will the LPC benefit from the Greens' inevitable relegation back to fringe status?
  10. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canadavotes/story/2...eral-plane.html Perhaps a 30+ year old cargo jet wasn't the best choice, quite apart from the ironic environmental effects of this gaz guzzler.
  11. Almost as bad as people who respond to something on the basis of complete and utter ignorance?
  12. Yeah, I saw it on the National after they discussed the Garth Turner thing. Not much detail there, I'll look into the other stuff.
  13. Really? I didn't see anything on CPAC about this or the CBC website. Can you provide a link? Thanks.
  14. I'm not sure I understand how he was "speaking his mind" in trying to weasel out of having to give the interview, then throwing his campaign manager under the bus?
  15. Anyone from the Halton area who can report what the reaction is, if any, on the already questionably ethical Garth Turner and his latest controversial efforts? My understanding is that this riding is in play, and I'm wondering if this might be determinative. http://www.stephentaylor.ca/2008/09/garth-...er-gets-caught/
