I agree. There is no good reason for having this election.

Why won't Harper (or any Conservative candidate for that matter) answer a question directly. All they do is state what the Liberals would do.

McGuinty Refuses to Endorse Dion

I don't get it. If he thinks Ontario is getting a raw deal from the Feds, wouldn't that be an issue with Harper not Dion? -
Disenchanted with Liberals, Conservatives & NDP?
nbguyca replied to PoliticalCitizen's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I guess we are going to have to disagree. I have watched governments win and lose based on one issue voting. The winner then had no clue what to do. A responsible voter needs to weigh all the issues and decide who would best represent them best as an MP. -

This could have the best environmental policy in the world but if they haven't got a clue about anything else, what good are they? If you vote based on one issue and one issue only. you are voting irresponsibly. Unfortunately, many people vote like this. -

Why in the world would you base a vote for anyone on one single issue?? That just boggles my mind. -
Networks Decide not to Allow The Green Party in Debate
nbguyca replied to M.Dancer's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Maybe, just maybe you don't have a clue about the Maritimes. But then again what do I know? I'm just a poor, stupid Maritimer who has lived off the government all his life bacause of my defeatist attitude. How could I possibly know anything when I compare myself to someone who seems to live on this board and has "been up here" a few times? -

Nice generalization about Maritmers. I have lived here all my life and I have yet to find anyone who uses that as a criteria for voting. -

I was talking about the begining of the Reform party and their first election. They were a regional party at that time. -

Sorry my mistake. I didn't think in the first elections the Reform party ran all over the country. I know they did in later elections. -

They have candidates running throughout the country, which is more than any other fringe party ever done, including Reform and the Bloc. I think that fact alone should be reason enough to include here in the debates. -
Unless she lives in his riding, she can't vote for him. This is an example of how "Americanized" our election process has become. If the person you elect is no good, what good will any of the leaders be?

Just who the hell is he suppose to be talking to? And which war is he talking about? I haven't figured out how this ad makes him a good PM.

I cannot think of any good, legitimate reasons for having an election. This is nothing more than a political move on Harper's part. (Didn't he once say he would get rid of all these type of actions because Canadians were tired of them.) A waste of time and a waste of money but once again we see that Harper rules with a iron fist and it is his way or the highway.

You should really read your own links. It states that 9% speak French only. There is a much more equitable split in NB.

Should we get rid of juries?

Are you saying juries only find people innocent? -
No quick fix for equalization between provinces.

But didn't you say in another thread that all your oil workers were from Newfoundland? -
New Atlantic Deal More Than Fair
nbguyca replied to Keepitsimple's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Hmmm, given the issue broke this week it makes sense that a poll released today wouldn't factor in people's feelings about the issue. Is that a blatant attempt to smear the Government? Defintely not fostering debate at all. I suggest you try www.rabble.ca Why is it ok to quote all the reports out of Ontario based media but when a non-partisan think0tank based in Atlantic states a position on th issue, it is a blatant attempt to smear the government? Still waiting for an anwer to this question. -
This lame attempt at ridicule won't deflect attention from Harper's tactics. What tactics? He/she means her tactics of misleading and imputing and deflecting threads, don't fall for this type of baiting and trolling which is lowering the level of this forum. I think there are many who are lowering the intelligence level in this forum.

Wow, you are amazing.

I'm in charge of giving the bums rush to morons. Welcome in. I'm guessing your stay will be brief. Wow, witty. I thought you must work in the office since all you do is give the same old explanations that the PMO's office does. That would tend to happen when there is only one set of facts and the government and I are both using them. I merely quoted the statements from the Montreal Gazette and CTV News. Are they working for the federal government too? Or maybe clicking on the links was too complicated for you. Too many of those... word things, eh? Oh I see, everyone else just makes things up and passes them along as facts. Sorry for bothering you, I'm just a backwards, hick from the Maritimes so I don't always see what is best for me. I guess I'll just shut up and let you central Canadians tell me how things work.
-
Exactly what position do you hold in the PMO's office? I'm in charge of giving the bums rush to morons. Welcome in. I'm guessing your stay will be brief. Wow, witty. I thought you must work in the office since all you do is give the same old explanations that the PMO's office does. Wait...Steven, is that you?

By scrapping the signed deal NS had on the accord, they will lose 1 billion dollars over the life of the agreement. They may end up with more in this current budget but in the long run they will get less. Seems like a bad deal to me for a province that is trying to become more self-sufficent.
