  1. Co-worker had called a gov't office in Ottawa today...transferred her to someone else because i guess fluidity is not at all considered to be part of fluency. My co-worker apparantly spoke "too fast"...and she is not a fast talker (she is a former radio news announcer).
  2. 1. When are women going to stop painting all men as savages when when the vast majority of men are decent? 2. The witness went for the guard because that is the way things are now...and the guy had a gun!
  3. The choice wasn't about debate...it was about loyalties. And I personally would prefer a government of action than debate.
  4. I try to never insult people over the internet because you never know of their education, intellectual capacity or their culpability to simply being a fool...so I will simply say that it is a very common term that appears in a multitude of dictionaries. war room n. A room in which strategic decisions, especially for a military or political campaign, are made. Pretty damn scary if you ask me...
  5. If incompetence is proof of a conspiracy in the Bush administration...what does proven corruption say about the Liberal party of Canada?
  6. He is calling the shots for Russia, the USA AND Canada? Wow...that is power!
  7. Charles, I agree about Canada being dissolved. To think some fisherman 3,000km has anything in common with me in Alberta is a joke. The only thing we have in common is if he actually decides to get his arse (I had to use that word ) off his armchair and is willing to work instead of collecting pogey (that one too ) is that there is a job for them in Alberta. Other than that we think different, talk different and are educated different. Any investment which would see decades of losses would see the investor cut their losses...confederation and multi-culturalism as a whole are failed experiments in which the bleeding hearts of Canada fail to acknowledge and move on from. They all seem to think Canada has this "identity" when the only identity we have is from within and is artificially founded for the sole reason of giving us some sense of pride. The identity that is so often applied to Canada is the Ontario identity. It is kind of pathetic really. A whole country has to define itself based on one self-righteous province and in particular city.
  8. The Westminster parliamentary model is an archaic institution which was designed to accomodate the monarchy within a democratic society. That in and of itself is an oxymoron. A democracy...in which a BIRTHRIGHT determines the head of state. The Windsors are nothing now but relics from midieval governance in which the common man was uneducated and unable to make choices for the betterment of society. Our education system inherently proves the Westminster model to be archane. The monarchy should be abolished. Fixed election dates should be established with provisions for "recalls" And a representation model like the Electorate College in the US should be adopted. Democracy in Canada does NOT exist. It is an illusion and it is proven every election in Canada. Always have the winning party with less than 50% because of the number of parties. It alllows for th governing party to artificially extending its mandate (calling an election when times are good) or allows for parties to gang up to create instability when times are bad (thus not allowing an elected chosen by the people government to complete their mandate). You never vote for a man, but rather a "party". I never got a chance to vote for Stephen Harper, Paul Martin or Jack Layton. The Westminster model is one that provides for inefficient politics and it has no place in a country as geographical, ethnically, politically or economically diverse as Canada. I could go on but why...just like my breath, our style of governance is a waste; nothing will change.
  9. And that would have done wonders for the global opinion on US foreign affairs. You single handedly leave a country in a state of anarchy and expect no backlash? Recruitment to terrorist organizations would skyrocket because civilians would envision an opportunity for revenge as hatred for the west would fuel their philosophies. Imagine the ease of recruitment groups like Al Qaeda would have then... No. That was not the answer at all.
  10. But why would so many Liberal Canadians from the east want to move to Alberta? I mean, we are all rednecks and racists aren't we?
