  1. Music and politics have gone hand in hand for over 100 years. Musicians like Bruce Cockburn are totally political with their music. He in one of his most famous songs threatened death on politicions You can go back 45 year when Bob Dylan talking about politicions making war came right out and said he hopes they die. I mean someone like bush should be seen on the internet standing at the top of some stairs like Saddam was,but at least Natalie Maines didnt come right out and say say bush should die
  2. Only in America would a bunch of redneck right wingers threaten some ladies in a music band because they didnt like what they had to say But yea they had the last laugh Heh-Heh
  3. While not having always been my first choice for music to play, these girls are hugely talented and it is so good to them with so many nominations on todays grammys. Lets hope they do good and shut up some of these right wingers in America and Canada who seem to think bush is God and that Canada should bow to Americas every wish
  4. He was arrested for obstruction, something which Baylee conveniently forgot to tell us, along with all of the other facts with regards to the case. If Ian was not drinking beer he would not have been arrested. If not for a rookie cop who was embaressed in front of many people,he would not have been arrested. As for... "Well if you continue on, and call all police officers pigs again," "you are the one saying all police officers are evil and pigs" I will give you one post to show where I said and did that. Or admit you lied when you typed that. Or I will report you for lieing about what another poster said and posted I think that can be said to be against forum rules
  5. That is just such a stupid tired thing to say for trying to discredit someone who is just showing how BAD cops can be. And again about the links. As I said, look it up yourself. Maybe you need instructions? OK.. Go to google, and type in officer todd sweet. or Ian Bush. Or Guns and Roses riot. Or Jeff Berg. Or Richmond RCMP and kiddie porn. That was the lattest story Gee,just type in Vancouver police department. You will get all kinds of sh1 t on those people Or try this one..batterers in blue You can do it. I know you can
  6. And then there is the famous Guns And Roses riot in Vancouver. Yes a bunch of punks rioted and the cops were called. The cops ordered the crowd to disperse. Robert Parent,40 years old most certainly wanted out of there and was more than willing to leave. Instead,he was attacked and rammed in the mouth by a cop baton ,losing several teety and needing imediate surgery. All this was caught on camera and broadcast extensivly on TV. The cop who did it,never charged Reason given. Cop said he feared Parent was attacking him,as the tape clearly shows was not the case The cop who decided the correct action was taken by the cops was non less than Sgt. Kieron McConnell ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In February 1999, McConnell was one of three Vancouver cops acquitted of allegedly assaulting the son of a former MLA outside the Roxy nightclub in August 1997. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A bit of a pattern as you can see . Look out for your brothers and sisters ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  7. Over the past year the Vancouver Police Department (VPD) has occupied an unprecedented place in the corporate media, as many particular incidents of brutality have been exposed. Although this extensive media coverage has obviously outraged the VPD it has not significantly limited their brutality. The vast majority of police attacks, of course, go unreported. At times the media will promote false solutions to the problem of police brutality, but more often than not they will actively assist the police in covering up brutality, as we have most recently seen with the cruel beating and attempted frame-up of eight East Vancouver residents on February 29. Immediately after clubbing, pepper-spraying and breaking the ribs of the residents as punishment for having the audacity to question why the police were arresting someone, the cops ran straight to all the corporate media outlets in town, clearly showing that they understood the transparent nature of what they had done and the need to cover their asses by building up a bullshit story in the public eye and the courts. The police operate in an atmosphere of near-impunity, because brutality – the illegal use of force – is part of their job description. Maintaining this oppressive society would be impossible without the police, without their batons, pepper-spray and hand-cuffs. The VPD can fire two of the cops involved in the Stanley Park beatings while the cops who killed Jeff Berg and Frank Paul and beat Kulwinder Parhar remain untouched. Politicians and political activists can whine about how “nasty” these “awful” police are until they’re blue in the face, and VPD gangsters will continue to cruise around busting skulls without fear of any real consequences. Jeff Berg - On October 22, 2000, there was an allegation of a marijuana grow-op rip-off which may have involved Jeff and three others. Jeff was in a vehicle in a rear alley near the scene, and as the car started to leave the area, a police vehicle rammed the car, causing it to spin, pinned against a garage. Jeff exited the vehicle, and according to civilian independent eyewitness reports, stood behind the vehicle, hands and feet spread, motionless. It is alleged the officer advanced towards Jeff from behind, gun drawn, while Jeff was frozen in surrender mode. Witnesses claim he was struck in the head / neck area with the officer's gun, and while Jeff was laying motionless on his side, the officer continued by kicking Jeff repeatedly "soccer-ball style" in the head, testicles, and torso. This is cruel and unnecessary force by any estimate. One eyewitness alleges the officer then chose to drag Jeff's lifeless body face down across the pavement, and was so appalled he began videotaping in case other violent episodes erupted. The tape clearly shows the police standing idly by while Jeff lies motionless bleeding on the alleyway, showing no concern whatsoever for his traumatic condition. Jeff's family believes it is grossly negligent for the attending officers to withhold immediate assistance to aid a victim. Jeff was revived later at the scene by paramedics, but died of his injuries on October 24, 2000 after being removed from life support. The internal investigators assigned to this case were, in the family's opinion, biased and insistent on minimizing the event. The police maintain that Jeff was violent, a scuffle ensued and as a result Jeff just "collapsed". The family was not satisfied with this explanation so they assembled a team of licensed private investigators to knock on doors and look for eyewitnesses, which were found. They now form part of the Police Complaint Commissioner's file. VPD concluded their internal review late December 2002, after Crown Counsel reviewed VPD's file and ruled there would be no charges laid. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  8. Or complete a full investigation instead of coming to a quick conclusion. I'm not going to respond since you can't come up with a link, so as in the previous came you are simply hiding some facts from us. An investigation takes time my ignorant friend. You're hiding facts from us again which is why you can't give us a link. I know you're pissed off about a speeding ticket or something, so the last thing you want is for police to be given due process, but for the rest of us, lets see all of the facts. God you are stupid. There was no investigation done in 5 days.In fact the investigations in these case happened months later. If a cop says he opened fire on a non moving car because he feared for his fellow cop,you say so,or someone says so for you.The families have a right to know right away why their loved one is dead.you dont have a spokesman say 5 days later what your reason was. Obviouslly it was time spent getting the story correct As for links, look it up yourself.Everyone knows about Todd Sweet New West BC cop who has been going around killing and beating up people. The stories are there by the dozens on this batsard I am assuming of course that you know how to Google
  9. Lets recap. After the rookie cop blew away Ian,a very well respected young man in the town who had never once been in trouble. An athlete,a hard worker at the mill,it took the cops a full week to explain why Ian was killed. A week? Time to get stories straight I would suspect. Just as in New West BC When the cop,Todd Sweet blew away the passenger in the non moving vehicle,he fired radomly at the vehicle filled with young people, killing the one. ~~~~~~~~~~ "This isn't Sweet's first or last brush with the law, as he had been the focus of at least two lawsuits accusing him of improper police conduct. Even the police chief was forced to admit he couldn't remember another officer during his 10 years on the job who had been in the papers as much as Sweet." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It took the New West cops 5 days to explain why this cop opened fire on the non moving vehicle. If as he said he opened fire rambo style on this car because he was concerned about the safety of another cop in the cruiser, why wait almost a week to say so.When asked the next day why,why was the answert no comment. Time to get the story right Again I suspect. The cop Sweet was a known trouble making cop prior to the killing and now that he is up on charges finally for assault ,it is obvious the person should never have been a cop,and a young boy would be alive. Then there is the Jeff Berg fiasco. Beaten to death by Vancouver city cops afew years ago A young man again, doing as he was told.Arms in the air, legs spread bent over a vehicle. With several witnesses watching, (from a nearby apartment unknown to the cops) the cops proceeded to beat him to the ground including a blow to the back of the head. With a witness video cam rolling, the cops were seen to kick Jeff when he was down. Then ignoring his non moving body Afterwards he died in his cell. A coroners report ruled it a homicide and he died as a result of a blow to the back of his head. The cops investigated themselves, and conclude the cops acted properly Properly? Witnesses and caught on film say otherwise. One can only be amazed that the cops who beat up those guys in Stanly Park were convicted. Of course they were only convicted because another cop,a young one, who witnessed the beatings testified against him. Guess who is no longer a cop? As an afterthought on the killing of Ian... "While wanting to show fairness, the RCMP are having the New Westminister Police review their findings and investigation procedures before giving the report to Crown Counsel for consideration of possible charges. This is in spite of the fact that the RCMP are investigating the New Westminister Police over their own questionable police shooting.
  10. Gore didnt protest the decision? What, are you crazy or something? No one denies that Gore won the election. A court decided he lost Florida
  11. "I would rather not ask, but is there a disconnect with your reading ? Padding the account...yes that is true. You said he fired two bullets into the back of Ian's head. Nope sorry, only one bullet in the newspaper account." Well excuse me.This murder happened like 2 years ago.If it were one bullet(maybe) then so be it.I guess that would make the cop less evil if he only shot him once in the back of the head? "The article said the cop had verifiable bruising on his face. Since there are only two people in the room, did the cop run himself into a wall?" ( wouldnt be the first time someone inflicted injury on themself to cover up their crime) I think I missed that.Link please. Maybe his girl freind punched him earlier in the day for being a jerk Funny, you say because there was only 2 people in the room we should take his word as to where his bruises came from and why he killed Ian. In other words you are saying this guy wouldnt lie. I have a cat scratch on me now.Can I blame that on someone else if I got mad at someone? " can think of at least one scenario where all this is probable. Ian freaked, tried to hit cop, tried to reach for gun, gun gets dischareged and hits Ian. Ian dead." Ian reached for the gun in a holster and shot himself in the back of the head???? this ,as was the case in New West,is yet another case of a cop going beserk and losing it and shooting someone. Ordinary people do it all the time. Many a person who normally would not commit a crime lose it for a moment and do something stupid. People like you seem to think cops are something special and would never do no harm
  12. Padding the account? You somehow come up with the cop having bruises on his face that supposedly came from Ian? And you basically say the cops did not investigate themselves when you say .. " And it seems this was not done here " HMMMM ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The RCMP recently completed its investigation and sent a report to Vancouver, where, the Bush family has been told, it likely will be reviewed by another agency, in this case the police force in neighbouring New Westminster. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Funny the cops say.... "At some point, a violent struggle broke out." But yet... "He was taken to the station's interview room, where a small couch sits against a wall beneath a video camera. The camera was not turned on." No camera on?Why not? One person dead,The only other person in the room was the killer but somehow the report says a violent struggle broke out. Now who do you suppose supplied that piece of evidence???
  13. And here I thought racism was only allowed on the recently shut down CNEWS forum
  14. Moron??? Gee,maybe you should try to think a little I said earlier the rookie cop was embarresed by Ian. The cop asked Ian his name,Ian lied and gave him the name of the friend standing next to him.Everyone laughed at the cop.Another cop came over and told the rookie why they were laughing at him.The rookie who knew no one in the town but everyone else knew each other decided to play tough and arrested Ian for drinking in a public place. What else is interesting about your post is the enquiry the cops did on themselves has not been released to the public. As for you never having heard about this case. I guess thats becase some people dont care and ignore stories about cops killing kids for something as nothing as this Well in your case you seem to think lieing to a cop is a good reason to die
  15. Yea whatever Army Guy. I now hear the story of Canadian soldiers mistreating prisoners got a little heavier today. With Canadian soldiers sordid past of torturing and killing innocent people it is no wonder this stroy is being taken so seriously
  16. There is no sspin at all. The fact of the matter is Harper barley won a small minority when ADSCAM was all over the news. 34% of the vote The man has been PM for a year now treying to convinceeveryone he/they are so much better than the LIBS are/were and yet he still is unable to get more support than the LIBS. Even Harper himself is saying an election soon would produce another minority. Thank God right wing thinking people are a small minority in this country
  17. "Premier Dalton McGuinty's Liberals stumbled last night," How about this. The Ontario CONS looked pathetic last night. Most voters yet again voted for left wing values rather than right wing
  18. The polls show that despite so called LIBERAL corruption Harper still cant get more support than the Liberals.
  19. Well not WE,it is you. Most people know about this rookie cop who was embaressed by Ian in small town Houston BC . See no one knew this rookie cop, everyone knew and respected Ian. This cop decided to play tough man and hauled Ian into the station for the despicable crime of drinking a beer in a parking lot at a hockey rink between periods. Shortly after this cop shot Ian not once, but twice in the back of the head and claimed self defence. Because the inquiry ( cop investigating cop) was such a joke and everyone knows it,this case is far from over. As for being in trouble? Not at all.Just dont like people who I help pay think they are so much better than ordinary people and who far too often get away with murder and other violent crimes
  20. Well actually... Todays SES POLL NUMBERS completed last night. National Conservative Party – 33% (-1) Liberal – 33% (+1) NDP – 17% (+1) BQ – 10%(-3) Green Party – 7% (+2) Quebec (N=234, MoE ±6.5, 19 times out of 20) BQ – 39% (-11) Liberal – 27% (+2) Conservative Party – 20% (+8) NDP – 8% (-2) Green Party – 6% (+2) Ontario (N=262, MoE ±6.1, 19 times out of 20) Liberal – 38% (-6) Conservative – 36% (no change) NDP – 19% (+3) Green Party – 8% (+3) Isnt it amazing that in spite of the supposed LIBERAL corruption and adscam and the fact they were leaderless for so long that Harper still cant get more support than the LIBS. Says a lot about this man Harper who is one scary person
  21. Like I said,a non moving stolen vehicle. As for the ramming, that was what this now discredited cop said was his reason for putting a bullet into the head of a 16 year old boy who was just sitting in the passenger seat. This cop freaked and opened fire on a car that was going no where. This is now his 3rd crime. Even the chief of the New West police force is saying he is happy to be rid of this rambo
  22. No, there was none, actually. Well yes there was actually. I would say where on the tape one cop being heard saying give them ( the natives) some whiskey, that will settle them down is a good example
  23. Canadian Blue asked on the previous page for links to the Ian Bush killing. Anyone who does not know about this very well respected young man being shot twice in the back at the police station where he was taken because he was caught with an open beer in the parking lot of a hockey rink is living in denial. The police investigation of themselves showed a rookie cop who was an unknown in a small town, embarresed by Ian then later freaked out and killed him. The investigation is known to have been a complete joke These people are not being paid to serve and protect the public. Nor are they charging people for doing the exact crimes they are. And again, they are not the ones who do a criminal investigation on themselves then say you did nothing wrong. Many a cop ,if not most, think they are better than the average citizen. Most are not. In fact most are just nobodies on a power trip
  24. So lets see. In the last few days, just in BC we have seen a cop charged with torture among other charges, another involved with kiddie porn, another charged with assault who just happens to be the same cop who put a bullet in the head of a 16 year old kid last year who was sitting in the passenger seat of a non moving stolen car. We have seen the release of a recomendation in BC that says no more should cops be allowed to investigate themselves after the Ian Bush fiasco where a cop murdered this boy whos crime was drinking a beer in a hockey rink parking lot. After investigating themselves the cops said they did nothing wrong. We see cops harrasing people all the time. Cops charging people with drunk driving while being charged themself with drunk driving. Drunk from drinking confiscated liquor at the police station witht the approval of the sarge. I think calling these people things is appropriate. I think PIGS is a better word but some people for whatever reason dont approve of that term
