The end of electronic voting fraud as it is today may soon be just another part of the history and legacy of the Bush years. Florida, the icon of voter fraud, may become the first state in the nation to completely rid itself of touch-screens .. now that Bush brother Jeb is out of office .. thus signaling the end of the Bush's in office forever. AND, to answer the inevitable question .. yes, there were attempts at fraud in the 2006 elections, and there is evidence .. but they were overwhelmed by the tide of American people determined to rid the nation of republican rule. February 1, 2007 Florida Moves to End Touch-Screen Voting http://www.nytimes.com/2007/02/01/us/01cnd...age&oref=slogin excerpt ... I take issue with the suggestion that this comes because of the efforts of democrats. This fight has been won by the activists, not democrats, who were many times the very people the activists had to fight, such as in Georgia.

Weaponeer, Obviously, you don't understand the limits of military power. With all the weapons that you so love, the US has never defeated any nation the size of Ohio by itself. We do better with much smaller counties about the size of Vermont, like Panama and Grenada. The US had overwhelming military power in Vietnam .. and still lost the war. Iraq is a nation that had been uneder sanctions for 12 years and had a depleted military, but we have still lost the war. Afghanistan really is a stone-age country that fought back with rifles and pistols and they are not only beating back the US, but NATO as well. The Russians have delivered new missiles to Iran capable of bringing down US warplanes at great distances and the Chinese, like the Russians, have a vested interest in Iran. The only ally the US could count on is Israel, which can't be counted on. the Iranians would get weapons and funding from around the world and any attack on them would not stop at the US just tossing some bombs at selected sites, which would not neccesarily be successful by themselves. The limited war (cakewalk) that you propose will not happen and the US will be drawn into a much wider conflict that we cannot win. Additionally, where is the funding for strikes on Iran to come from? Where is the manpower to come from? The US Treasury and military is stretched to the limit and the American people are fed up with gung-ho armchair warriors who've watched too many war movies and are not themselves in the line of fire. Iran doesn't have to bring down US warplanes to strike at the US, the cost of oil alone would devastate the US economy. An attack on Iran would put the hard-liners there in full control and have the exact opposite effect of what's desired. AND .. it would put the brave US men and women in uniform .. who are not sitting on their asses away from combat .. in even more danger than they are already in. I assume that you are not posting from Iraq. Again, the American people are a lot smarter than the arm-chair "warriors" and right-wing knucklehead thought than to believe that we'd have ANY chance of success in attacking Iran, thanks to right-wing idiocy and arm-chair warriors who championed the disaster in Iraq. Attacking Iran has nothing to do with being too hard and everything to do with it being just too stupid.

War On Everything - Americans
blackascoal replied to Catchme's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Unfortunately, one doesn't have to look too far to find Americans like these who know nothing of the world. Look no further than the idiot sitting in the White House. "The point now is how do we work together to achieve important goals. And one such goal is a democracy in Germany." --George W. Bush, D.C., May 5, 2006 "I've reminded the prime minister-the American people, Mr. Prime Minister, over the past months that it was not always a given that the United States and America would have a close relationship." George W. Bush, Washington, D.C., June 29, 2006 "That's George Washington, the first president, of course. The interesting thing about him is that I read three -- three or four books about him last year. Isn't that interesting?" --George W. Bush, while showing German newspaper reporter Kai Diekmann the Oval Office, Washington, D.C., May 5, 2006 "I believe that a prosperous, democratic Pakistan will be a steadfast partner for America, a peaceful neighbor for India, and a force for freedom and moderation in the Arab world." --George W. Bush, mistakenly identifying Pakistan as an Arab country, Islamabad, Pakistan, March 3, 2006 "Wow! Brazil is big." --George W. Bush, after being shown a map of Brazil by Brazilian president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, Brasilia, Brazil, Nov. 6, 2005 "After all, Europe is America's closest ally." --George W. Bush, Mainz, Germany, Feb. 23, 2005 "See, free nations are peaceful nations. Free nations don't attack each other. Free nations don't develop weapons of mass destruction." — George W. Bush, Milwaukee, Wis., Oct. 3, 2003 "Do you have blacks, too?" —to Brazilian President Fernando Cardoso, Washington, D.C., Nov. 8, 2001 I could go on and on and on with the lack of knowledge this buffoon has of the world. Perhaps you can excuse the lack of knowledge by the man or woman on the street, but when it comes from the POTUS, it's mindless. One reason the United States finds itself at the edge of a foreign policy disaster is its underinformed citizenry, a key weakness in democracy. -- Stefan Harper and Jonathan Clarke -
Joe Biden Steps into the ring and into dodo.
blackascoal replied to sharkman's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Sharkman, I guess you didn't actually read the article because in it Jackson clearly takes issue with Biden's remark and stated that he got more votes than Biden during their run for the presidency. He correctly descibes the race for black votes that all democratic candidates will be racing to get and he declares that he is on Obama's team, not Bidens'. Undoubtedly, there will be much more said about Biden's remark from the black community, which stretches a lot farther than just Jackson and Sharpton. It's already the talk of black talk radio. By the way, both Powell and Rice recognize that they'd be nothing more than a side show if they ran for president and Powell has ruined whatever little chance he had along with his credibility by his UN deception .. and he has said as much. Of course, this is the same guy who was involved in the MyLai cover-up during Vietnam. Biden explains, apologizes for comments http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070201/ap_en_tv/biden2008 excerpt ... Biden is yesterdays news and had absolutely no chance of winning even before this latest knucklehead remark. The bad news for Biden is that he'll never become the POTUS .. the good news is that there is a spot waiting for him in the Michael Richards "Keep Hope Alive Tour". -
The Tyranny of the Left Wing
blackascoal replied to JerrySeinfeld's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
The notion that mainstream media is liberal is utterly ridiculous and any comparison of REAL liberal media to what comes out of MSM clearly proves that. Case in point .. the "rescue" of Jessica Lynch fraud was exposed by real liberal media which demonstrated and proved that it was nothing more than a Hollywood production complete with a Hollywood director, Jerry Bruckheimer, of "Black Hawk Down." Today, even Jessica Lynch herself confirms that it was nothing more than a fraud, yet MSM has never reported this truth. Real liberal media reported the fraud of the "toppling of Saddam's statue", which MSM reported as a spontaneous action by grateful Iraqi citizens and an appreciation of the US invasion. Real liberal media posted the wide angle shots of the "demonstration" which clearly show that there were only a handful of hand-picked supporters of Chalabi involved and US tanks and soldiers blocking off the square to keep real Iraqis from disrupting the staged fraud. Those pictures never made it into MSM. The "liberal press" nonsense comes straight out of the right-wing fraud machine, trumpeted by lunatics like Limbaugh, Hannity, and Coulter, right into the brains of those who depend on them for what passes as thought. The "tyranny" of the left? More like the idiocy of the right, which has been exposed for what it is and rejected all over the world. -
The Tyranny of the Left Wing
blackascoal replied to JerrySeinfeld's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Jerry Seifeld, Would any of your family be among the 1,000. Are you in the military fighting for what you so fervently believe other people should be dying for? Mainstream media is owned by corporations that are not made up of liberals. If the MSM was owned by thye Left, the American people would have known the attack on Iraq was a fraud long ago, because REAL liberal media has been saying so even before the war began. But Iran shoudn't have a nuclear weapon to protect itself from people who think like you? That's not obvious at all. Again, if the left owned MSM, it would look vastly different and none of it would have championed the Iraq debacle. -
The US government is not assisting the German authorities with the case. If the case proceeds to trial, it would be the first criminal prosecution over America's rendition policy. The Bush Adminstration knew they were breaking all manner of laws, norms, and standards for international behavior, and in some cases, committing war crimes. Thus, they demanded exemption from any prosecution for anything they did in the name of "freedom".

The American people do not support ANY attacks on Iran. Americans Rule Out Air Strikes, Invasion of Iran October 25, 2006 http://www.angus-reid.com/polls/index.cfm/...em/itemID/13579 - Many adults in the United States reject a conflict against Iran, according to a poll by Princeton Survey Research Associates published in Newsweek. 54 per cent of respondents oppose air strikes against military targets and suspected nuclear sites in Iran, while 76 per cent believe the U.S. should not send ground troops to take control of the country. Air strikes against military targets and suspected nuclear sites in Iran 38% - Support 54% - Oppose 8% - Not Sure Sending in U.S. ground troops to take control of the country 18% - Support 76% - Oppose 6% - Not Sure If the American people do not support any attack on Iran .. American politicians, on both sides of the political aisle, do not support any attack on Iran .. and most other governments do not support any attack on Iran .. who does?

No of course, there absolutely nothing in code refering said Government of Israel as America's Zionist Masters. You are a fraud. Sure .. that's "racist". Definiton of racism: a form of discrimination based on race, especially the belief that one race is superior to another. Since when did a religion become a race? I'm done with this conversation. Believe what you want.

It appears that the Bush Administration and Israel are also having problems selling their Iranian snake oil to european governments. Rift looms as Europe resists US call http://www.theage.com.au/news/world/rift-l...9919336430.html And Australia It's business as usual for Australians trading with Iran

Interesting how the UN is rejected by the right, but used as an excuse when it fits their agenda. If we are going to use the UN, shouldn't we be bombing Israel, who is in violation of more UN Resolutions than any nation in history. The reality is that America opened the Pandora's Box of nuclear weapons and EVERY nation on earth has a right, in fact, a duty, to protect itself from other nations who have them. Israel has plenty and has openly talked about attacking Iran. The US has openly talked about a pre-emptive "limited" nuclear strike against Iran and both nations continue to build and add to their nuclear arsenals. And, both nations were involved in the overthrow a Iran's democratically elected government. But you think Iran should do what? .. Sit back ands wait until they're attacked? It's not a matter of if we should "allow" Iran to do what both the US and Israel have already done. It's not our choice to decide. Every nation has a right to protect itself. The only option we have is mutally assured destruction .. which seemed to work real well with the Soviet Union. Iran has never been a threat to the US, but then again, neither was Iraq. The American people aren't clamoring for a war with Iran. The Israeli government is.

While America is still bogged down in the worst military blunder in American history, many within the Bush Administration are itching for a war with Iran to serve their Zionist masters. But the American people aren't buying it and neither are many in the House and Senate. They recognize that any attack on Iran is a far more daunting challenge than attacking a smaller Iraq that has been under sanctions for more than a decade and was forced to fight back with improvised weapons .. and where America will still go down to defeat. They recognize that if the US attacks Iran, Russia and China will be involved and the price of oil will skyrocket through the roof. Senators warn against war with Iran http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070130/ap_on_go_co/us_iran

It's All Israel's (and Bush's, and Harper's) fault!
blackascoal replied to jbg's topic in The Rest of the World
WTF? How does the title of this thread reconcile with the article posted? If you're so set on defending Israel, Bush, and Harper, why not do it in your own words rather than trying to contort someone else's words into something not said, implied, or inferred? I suspect that using your own words only gets you tripped up by things like logic, evidence, and common sense. However, I do understand. Defending the indefensible ain't easy. -

The Tyranny of the Left Wing
blackascoal replied to JerrySeinfeld's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
The Tyranny of the Left Wing ???? In the face of all that is known, proved, and documented about the failure of right-wing ideology and politics, the rejection of right-wing politicians by the American people, and republicans now looking left to retsore their credibility .. good luck selling this fool's gold about why anyone should be afraid of the Left. In case you missed it, tens of thousands of people all across America demonstrated against what they see as tyranny just a couple of days ago. Of course, to be fair, there was a counter demonstration of about 11 people. According to this Limbaugh-ish right-wing drivel, we should pay no attention to the horrors and failures of the right that we see in the newspapers everyday and only worry aboit what comes out of Hollywood as entertainment. How dare Hollywood make a movie about gays as if gays were real people. How dare Hollywood imply that muslims are like everybody else, not promote Islamophobia, and not tell the truth that every muslim has a bomb strapped to their ass. Fortunately, this drivel is just there for the giggles and one can read it with humor. It's snake oil that nobody is buying, but given the diminished role of the right and the defection by many of their supporters, I guess this is all they have left. -
The SECRETS of Obama's family UNLOCKED. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,2089-2569704,00.html excerpt ... WHEN Barack Obama, America’s newest presidential hopeful, was hit by allegations that he had attended a radical Islamic madrasah school as a boy in Indonesia, the claims spread like a virus through the media and internet. It was a lie — the school was barely more religious than British church schools — but it was also a sign that Obama’s chances of winning the presidency depend to an unusual degree on his life story and character. The race is on to define the gifted but little-known senator for Illinois and The Sunday Times can reveal that his heritage is far more diverse and astonishing than anything American voters have heard so far. Obama, 45, has two half- sisters, one living in Britain, and five surviving half-brothers, the eldest of whom converted to Islam, and whose stories span the globe. Nobody was more surprised to hear that Obama had reportedly been educated in a madrasah than Julia Suryakusuma, a close friend of his mother until her death from ovarian cancer in 1995. Suryakusuma, 53, one of Indonesia’s most outspoken feminist writers, has fearlessly taken on extremist Muslim clerics in print. Last week she described Ann Dunham, Obama’s mother, “as a liberal and a humanist”, who learnt to speak fluent Indonesian and adored the culture. Obama’s multi-hued heritage has put a distance between him and the African-American community, which has been reluctant to claim him as a “brother”. America’s white community, in contrast, has embraced Obama as a hopeful affirmation that the fabled melting pot can transcend race. With his middle name Hussein (like Saddam) and surname Obama (like Osama), he is a rare and exotic figure in American politics. “I believe the American electorate is ready to support leaders who embody the American dream despite their differences. In doing so, we affirm ourselves as a tolerant people,” said William Galston, a senior fellow in public policy at the Brookings Institution in Washington. ---------------------------------------------------- I don't sense this rejection of Obama within the black community that I keep hearing about at all.

100,000 including Fonda and Sarandon protest
blackascoal replied to Leafless's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
You are indeed correct .. as usual.. The right wants to focus on Jane Fonda to detrect from the clear message sent by thye vast amount of other people who gathered. It's easier for them to attack Fonda than attack the American people. Having been a part of many protests and the Million Man March, I'm acutely aware of their penchant to undercount those who attend.
