You need to expect the attacks. Its only fair. I mean they played that Harper quote about how much he thinks Atlantic Canada sucks like a million times in the last two elections. That is the way the game is played. The Liberals need to get with it and define their leader now. They have the money.

Yah its not like Shady still blames the Bush recession on Barney Frank (one congressman) or anything. He has a proven track record by accepting after 7 years of Bush policy that the economy went into the greatest recession we have ever seen. How did the CBO score it? If I remember correctly they said his last budget would blow a 3 Trillion dollar whole in the budget is this one more or less?

It's bad enough at times that Punked has to put up with my moments of stupidity. Punked DOES address it, but when a poster is all over the board it's hard to pin point how many times a flip or a flop has happened.

Its crazy. I am happy to disagree with posters and debate facts and how they should be applied to a situation. There are plenty of times I wind up with egg on my face as stories clear themselves up and my (and your) bias make us read into things we shouldn't. However we admit those times lose the argument and move on. It is crazy that there are some people who even when the evidence is shown just pretend reality does not exist. When those facts are reported and the full story comes up stick to their version of events and just ignore what is happening.............because? Well because Obama.
To be fair to Shady it isn't really his fault when his facts are wrong or as a story clears up that he is wrong about it because.....well because Obama.

Republicans are being called out on Running on "Obama is cutting Medicare" remember the election Ryan just ran saying that over and over and over again. His new budget embraces those cuts.....well because.....He is flip flopper I guess. Oh Ryan also uses that tax increase Republicans said was going to destroy America from the fiscal fight. More flips and flops.

Even when the total program reaches into the 100s of billions once support and operational costs are factored in?
Almost every cent of which will go to creating real jobs here at home. Sounds good to me. At this point in this economy I will take any stimulus I can get out of this government.

Even with record revenues, Obama's still going to run an almost trillion dollar deficit. And the worst part is the Obamacare spending doesn't even start until 2014. Just wait till that kicks in at $200 billion per year.
It isn't even close to a Trillion dollars unless do we now round deficits to the nearest trillion? Does that mean when the deficit is 499 Billion you will say it is "almost nothing" I bet you will if Republicans are in the whitehouse then. The poor math in this thread is just horrible. Fact deficit in 2009 1.4 Trillion 840 today 840 Billion that is a difference of 600 billion in 4 years. At this point if you actually take into account what the CBOs says are effects of a still depressed economy the deficit is more like 400 Billion and if it wasn't for people like Shady advocating policy which extend the recession we would be there by now. Next year the CBO says that number will fall to 172 Billion. Guess it is time to round down right? Nope just bad bad bad math going here.
Right now it is time for people like Shady to get out the way and let America make its come back. Just look at what the sequester is doing.

The deficit is 400 Billion more then it should be because of a depressed economy. So the solution on one side is to depress the economy and drag it out more? Seriously? Cuts are fine when they achieve something but all these cuts are doing is adding to the deficit.

You do know that those cuts, which were 1.2 trillion, were cuts to increases in baseline budgets, not actual cuts inspending and they were over a ten year period. Those cuts mean absolutely nothing to the level of current spending.
That must be why the deficit is shrinking at the fastest rate it ever has right?

It's a balanced approach. It used to be that raising taxes on the rich and cutting defense spending was something that would win over Democrats. It just goes to show how screwed that party is now. They can't be satisfied.

But labour costs DO effect many other goods. As do taxes, tariffs, fuel, etc. it's like BC said. Pay the higher costs and enjoy the social welfare state, because it has to be paid for somehow.
So we agree there are many things we can look at ebooks, video games, etc. That have higher prices do to price fixing and that is probably something that should be addressed?
I can understand that shipping, labour, taxes, healthcare etc. add to prices. Thats fine I happily pay a little more to live in the best country in the world. However where there is clear price fixing that is a real problem and because that is happening there it is probably happening other places to.
It's stuff like this that ruins the reputation of civil servants.
