  1. Wow! First non-video post by me. Astounding, right? But kidding aside, Toronto mayor Rob Ford is due in court on Monday to Appeal in order to keep his seat as mayor or Toronto, as I'm sure many of you already know. I'm curious to see what the people here think. Do you think Ford should NOT have to go to court, or do you think he should have his seat as mayor revoked after the many transgressions that happened with him? I personally think that for his rather unpleasant ways in which he dealt with some situations, along with using the letterhead of Toronto with his mail, that he should certainly go to court and possibly have his seat revoked. What do you guys think?
  2. I personally think he has a point though. Discrimination and persecution are two VERY different things, and I don't think they should be so lumped together. However, I think that discrimination CAN get to a point where it could be considered prosecution, especially if it's the government doing this discrimination.
  3. Personally, Login, I think it is a great act of arrogance to think that a since person can do the job of an entire council of people. Yes, I agree that they've made a horrible sacrifice by cutting the education budget, I believe education is an invaluable asset. But I do not think that just one person is more capable than a board of democratically-elected officials. Even though in this case, some deception seemed to be used for that election... But regardless, I would be interested in hearing your plan, if you uphold that you could do better
  4. I am against he death penalty just because death is so final. Death offers so chance for redemption, it is just the end of existence. Unless you believe in any one religion, that is. But either way, I think the death penalty is a very heavy sentence and should certainly not be handed out lightly, if at all. I think the death penalty is just a leftover option from the colonial times, when they used to execute people for merely being on the wrong side of an issue. Perhaps I'm being too much of a humanitarian on this, but I also am a bit sketchy with the kind of mass-murderer types.
  5. Personally, my take on Spence is that she should be allowed to protest, no matter how ridiculous we think it is or otherwise. She claims that Prime Minister Harper is infringing on a treaty with the Natives, and if she truly believes that, and is not just trying to garner public attention or taxpayer dollars, I think she should be allowed to show her displeasure in a peaceful way. Albeit, this way is slightly self-destructive, but as long as she doesn't harm another person, I think she should.

  10. Personally, I think the environmentalists are merely looking to garner public attention by nit-picking on minor issues.
