$2 Million for the queen when she came her last year. About the same for the newlyweds this year.
Only in Canada you say?
Pity...
And? So? We spend $24 million a year to generate interest in Canada as a destination. If the tourism officials had their way, they would have Mr and Mrs Cambridge here twice a year and it would be a huge savings with increased efficiency.

Yep, think so. First, you need to have a job
Har!
Unemployment is falling at its fastest pace in a decade, official figures reveal, in a boost for George Osborne. The Office for National Statistics (ONS) said the number of people unemployed fell by 88,000 in the three months to April, to 2.43 million — the largest drop since the summer of 2000. The unemployment rate was 7.7%, down from 8% three months earlier.....and want to work...

Then no doubt that these rioters just got back from their vacations too, for 10,000 pounds/ week at an Italian villa. But maybe bringing their own personal tennis trainer with them was a little too expensive this time. Hence we have the uproar...
Perhaps if they had spent more time on their A levels instead of yobbing around, they could afford to do the same
-
So government employees/politicians take vacations too. What's your point? and if you want to talk about "two disparate worlds,"' why no mention of the monarchy?
-
To cope with the violence, London’s Mayor Boris Johnson interrupted his family vacation in North America.
Prime Minister David Cameron returned from his vacation in a (shared) ten thousand pounds a week villa in Italy where he was reportedly taking tennis lessons with a coach flown out from Britain.
Home Secretary Theresa May cut short her vacation in Switzerland.
Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg returned from his vacation in France.
Riots reveal London's two disparate worlds
'nuff said
Vacationing in Europe is the norm for working folks in England. You can fly from London to Paris for about 150 CDN.
The poorer folks are found in Majorca ...

It is easier to do it this way....

C'mon Momo, your adoration for CEO's enriching themselves is almost legendary.
In other words, you are merely trolling while engaging in masturbatory fantasies...
same old same old
-
Ahh....nope, he seems more like the sort of hero that make folks like you cream your jeans over him.
Really? In between having sexual fantasies about me, perhaps you can spare your free hand to find anything I have written about him that would spur you to fantasize in that manner.

Most of those doing the looting (though by no means all) are Blacks, Arabs, and East Indians.

But why is hooliganism becoming and accepted part of our culture?
What makes you think it is in any way accepted beyond the hooligans?
-
Yep, there's little doubt Conrad Black was discontent.
Ahh....I guess then old conrad is one of your new heroes! Had he simply smashed in the doors on Toronto street, instead of using his key, you would be waxing idiotic over him...

Meanwhile...
In Irany,,,
Iran has called on the British government to "restrain" the police and stop the "violent treatment" of rioters.http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/aug/09/uk-riots-iran-condemns-police
-
More evidence that the rioters are simply criminals.
-
Here's the sort of heroic act that likely goes to the heart of the discontentment that's starting to boil over.
The kind of discontent that is common amongst thieves and their fans

Here are some of your heroes...

"we shall fight on the beaches,
we shall fight on the landing grounds,
we shall fight in the fields and in the streets,
we shall fight in the hills;
we shall never surrender....
....and if, which I do not for a moment believe, this island or a large part of it were subjugated and starving, then our Empire beyond the seas, armed and guarded by the British Fleet, would carry on the struggle, until, in God's good time, the new world, with all its power and might, steps forth to the rescue and the liberation of the old. -
While we are speculating uselessly- I suspect that many don't even know why they're upset, but still are. Some are probably opportunists using this to engage in violence just for the thrill of it. Yes there are people like that. Engaging in useless wars is only part of the reason, but sets an example for youth to follow.
Some?
It's the culture we've created.
Darn you to heck Apple
-
Seems that whatever the reason, there is a discontentment that goes beyond the death of this one person at the hands of police.
Indeed..many are angered that Tesco continues to demand money for iPads despite the growing appetite for them.
-
See? That's why it's so important to read and try to understand the Bible.
All very fine and good...
So what was Jesus talking about in all your quotes??? The LAW.
What's the law? The Commandments!
THOU SHALT NOT COMMIT ADULTERY is one of them!
Furthermore, Jesus really expanded on adultery. He explained what is adultery under the law.
Except when Jesus mentions the law, he means the law....the entire law including the parts that christians ignore
-
FYI: ADULTERY covers all bases! Bigamy is a big no-no too!
Now it is. It was not even a concept in 1st century Judea

In any case, the quality of the thread is deteriorating as various posters stoop to insults. Let's see what the mods think.
Lets not and say we did

So, think about it. Everyone supports a greener Earth but what is your price?
The same or less as I would pay for blue.
I look at it this way. Earning money creates a carbon foot print. The more I need to earn to pay for energy, the bigger the foot print.

Wow....I mean ...just wow...
Jesus, when refering to the law, would not have confined the law to the 10....like any Jew today, or 2000 years ago...knew the law to mean the entire mosaic law. I mean really, how hard is it to keep the 10?....Now try and keep the 613 commandments that make up...the LAW.
