Transportation is shared....but there is no pressing reason why it should be Federal..
If you move those away from the Federal government one province gets more, has better schools, better Health-care and another has less. You no longer have a Federation.Given that is already the case, that is a reality, I guess you think Canada does not exist.

Let us not forget about the letter Harper wrote to Klien where he talked about how Alberta should take on all Federal responsibilities. He has a past of trying to tear apart the Federal fabric of the nation. Don't worry though he was "just saying" those things he doesn't believe them.

You are absolutely right. I know journalists who hardly ever interact outside their own families with non journalists....and university students....at that tender, impressionable young age are with other students 24/7

This is an odd thought I know. And Im not sure if everyone here will agree with it.
But lets take a quick look into the future. The United States is soon going to fall back in status to at the very least Global Power but not Super Power.
Lets start with your premise. Not by a long shot. The US is still the world most powerful economy....and still the world's most powerful adversary.

Yaa is this stat off people pre-entrance or after years of training while in the forces. This means nothing.
What it means is your assertion:
1) You recruit from communities that are undereducated and have few career options....has been proven to be ignorant of the reality of today's armed forces.
...much like the rest of the kool-aid you have served. Once you finish high school, try joining a reserve unit to actually see what you are ignorant of.
