  1. Dizzy Tsi Maybe you are smoking too much sacred tobacco The Great Law defines the Long House land as Central/Northern NY. It even names the eastern and western gates in NY state. (that oral tradition once again getting in the way) The only people who belong to the Great Law of the Long House are the 6Nations, none other; also named in the Great Law. There is no evidence that the 6Nations ever settled in S Central Ontario. All research shows a combination of Erie, Neutral and Chippewa all blood enemies of the 6Nations. The Erie and Neutrals were effectively rubbed out by the 5/6Nations. The Mississauga which are Chippewa of the Algonquin tribes, sold the land to Butler at Newark (Niagara on the Lake now) in the presence of J. Brant, and Brant was OK with Miss. selling to Butler. Brant made no claim it was 6Nations land. (oral tradition sucks; what did Brant remember, that natives today forgot ) The only time 6Nation people were on S Central Ont land was on raiding parties, that's all. Further, the Algonquins and Hurons booted the 6Nations out of Montreal region more then a thousand years ago..(just wana forgot that oral tradition now don't we..) then they booted around by the Mahicians (known as the Mohigians in Fenimore's book),when they numbered about 1000 people. When Brant when to the Grand River, he brought about 1600 people, by 1841, the population was about 2000 people, By the way, clan chiefs can only smoke tobacco, then only when council is called. Sorta for the selct few. (yep oral tradition is really sucking at this point.. hope no natives on the rez is smoking tobacco..what is the punishment for non clan chiefs smoking tobacco anyway) The Hurons and Algonquins long before 6Nations had confederacy under the Great Law, had more powerful confederacies that were far more advanced. The 5/6Nation confed. was a poor copy. The peacemaker actually was a Huron who broght the great law concept to the 5/6Nations, borrowed from Huron/Algonq culture
  2. A casino, Ken Hill who is wanted for assault has attempted 5 years ago to set up a casino in PA. The number of native run casnios in the states is over 500 Three key protestors on the site and what near or distant relatives are up to are: Allen NacNaughton www.mackenzieinstitute.com/1994/sin-tax-failure4.htm Micheal Laughing www.iroquois.net/pages/badwater.htm .nocasinoerie.org/other/cwi.doc Clyde Powless www.easterndoor.com/archives/VOL.7/7-05.htm
  3. Dizzi Tsi Oh my, according to the Great Law only the clan mothers have property rights. Have the clan mothers now given up their rights to the greater population of the Long House. In order words, does each native now own their own property? If so, how was this done, as the Great Law has no amending formula. The manner of land ownership and government in the 6Nations consists of Matrilineal (clan mothers control land and do the farming)and Patriarchical (Clan chiefs-men make the decisions) was typical of many stone tribes, in truth, variations of this system are still being used by stone age tribes in Pupua, New Guinea.
  4. The govt case against the natives in regard to the Haldimand Tract is found on www.citizensofcaledonia.ca , first item on the page I believe, it is in PDF and has everything you would ever want to kanow about. Including signed documents by the chiefs at that time.
  5. I saw that episode about Custer, both accounts are wrong.
  6. The Royal Proclamation of 1763 came about because of the native themselves selling vast tracts of land to settlers as they arrived overseas from Europe. Even when Brant got the the right to live in the Haldimand tract in 1784, from 1784 to 1841, Brant, Hill and others were selling vast portions as fast as they could. A sale of 10,000 acres in the Fergus area was sold to one person in that time period.
  7. Perhaps you can explain to me who payed for the new high school on Six Nations land in the Caledonia area; on the reserve in Oshwegen, extra expensive because it was built like a long house. Yes our govt in Canada payed for that. Not Ken Hill, or his father Reg Hill the cigeraette kings on the reserve, but Canadian taxpayers. Further this high school, is not full, why? For native child that goes to a non reserve school in Caledonia or Hagersville, each native family gets a cash supplemnt from the the govt, the Canadian taxpayer.
  8. The Grand River lands have been claimed by the SN in Supreme Court case 406/95, the govt statement of defense was so overwhelming, that the SN went to Specific claims resolution where at least they can get 10,000,000 if they arbitrate. The govt case has 70,000 pages of documents and records printed from before 1784, on every issue involving SN Grand River Lands. Some documents actually come from the archives in London Britain. In specific claims resolution they may not get land but financial compensation. Some SN have decided to just seize the land because their case looks hopeless. The negot in Caledonia are separate from the original 406/95 issue, In other words we have 2 negot on the same land by two different parties. Regardless, in mid 90's Henco went to the Six Nation Council Band and got an OK to build on the land. However the new council is not honouring that agreement. Henco is not the only group that owns the disputed land, the other 6 builders are still negot. with the prov. In general the 42 arces are not much good for any thing but farming or a casino complex, which is the size most natives casinos in the states occupy.
  9. Has the Caledonia incident exposed how weak democrarcy is, Would it be better to have an absolute monarch deal with this, a monarch would not have to worry about public pressure or popularity. And could deal with this rapidly and decisive, at the moment, McQuinty is running a 3 ring circus, with nothing happening. No, I'm not suggesting we go back to a absolute monarch situation.
  10. Clan mothers are 100% peaceful, fascinating, according to the Great Law only the clan mothers can Ok a war and stop it. Seems if you OK a war, you certainly are not peaceful.
  11. Don't know if this was brought up, but, Henco did approach the Six Nations Band Council about any claims on the DCE land. The band council gave a thumbs up. That was about mid 90's, However, elections have happened after that, and the new council is more influnced by Confed Chiefs, and Ken Hill. support of the band council on the protestors being on the land, the vote was 7 to 6 for support, with several abstaining. Ken Hill attempted to buy that land but Henco had it already, after the occuption , Ken Hill tried to buy the land again, but no sale. Ken Hill is the one wanted by the police for an assault in the Can Tire parking lot. Also, Ken Hill is rumoured to be associated with the native gambling syndicates in upstate NY.
  12. The Ontario Prov is going back to court on the Caledonia issue, to ask for stay of execution to allow negotations to continue while still awaiting to appeal the judges order comply.
  13. The mississaugas were Chippewas which are also known as Obijwe, which came from the Algonkin group of people, which hated the Five/Six Nation, they were not cousins here is a link http://www.tolatsga.org/ojib.html The algonkins (Chippewas,Obijwe) drove the Mohawks and other Six nations out of Montreal area about 1000 years ago. The Five/Six nations moved to the finger lakes and decimated the small tribes living there.
  14. Cousins or not, the Mississaugas sold the land to an agent of the crown, Butler. http://www.uppercanadahistory.ca/puc/puc4.html
  15. Actually, technology is the enemy of the Six Nations, in a 100 years the Six nations will become non relevant. At the 1784 grant each native had more wealth then each settler, who had nothing but the shirts on their back. But by embracing technology they moved ahead. In 100 years, the natives will still be left far behind. The British wanted to leave India in 1910, but WW1 arose, then in the twenties, the uprise of Muslims in India occurred, then WW2,, Gandhi in the 50's gave the Brits an opportunity to leave. Gandhi , himself was related to one of large ruling families controlling India, pre Dutch and later British colonisation. Gandhi goal was to restore his family to that position, today India has been controlled by the Gandhi/Nehru coalition.
  16. 'Chief MacNaugton' To correct, Allen MacNaugton is actually not a chief, he made that title up, his mother Ann is not a clan mother and has been involved in cigarette smuggling, possible casinop involvement. His mother's sister is a clan mother, but Allen himself holds no chief status in the conferacy... there are some links about this in one of the citizens of caledonia forums.
  17. The Haldimand Tract was given by the King to J. Brant and those Brant invited to live there. The grant only gave the right to live there at the king's pleasure and subject to change. The SN did hold deed to the land. The power over the SN area was given by the crown to the Dominion of Canada by the BNA act. The SN are not sovereign, their original homeland was Upper New York, they are immigrants here.
