Freedom Of Speech,An Iroquoian Tradition
Chuck U. Farlie replied to Gayogoho's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Whether people were in NA 50000 years ago or 15000 years ago is irrelevant. Who was where when is irrelevant. Answer these questions, oh great one! 1) Provide an image of a Six Nations passport 2) Provide a list of countries that recognise Six Nations passports as valid travel documents 3) State in who's name Six Nations passports are issued 4) Why are First Nations peoples subject to Canadian law and tried in Canadian courts? 5) Why are First Nations reserves and programmes supported by Canadian tax dollars? 6) Why is there a Minister of Indian Affairs to advise the Crown? 7) Why are there no Canada Customs agents or border guards at the entrance/exits to Native reserves? 8) Who is the Six Nations Ambassador to Canada? (I assume he'd be an ambassador as a sovereign Six Nations wouldn't be part of the Commonwealth) 9) Who is the Canadian Ambassador to Six Nations? 10) Why is Six Nations not represented at the UN? I looked through your links... they do not provide the answers. When I mentioned this before all Okwahu said was "Well it proves our passport exists!".... sorry, not good enough. Do you have answers or not? -

Since farmers support you, as you claim, would you allow them to remain on the land and continue to farm it if you gained possession of it? -

Did your Mohawk instructions include beating a dead horse? because you sure do a lot of it on these forums. -

So what happens when the Canadians living within those areas decide to break the agreement? I don't think that your entire population of 28000 (or whatever it is) is enough to police the whole area and kick out the people that have lived there, some for generations. Hell, there are more farmers with shotguns in that area than all of your people put together... And as it was said in other threads, many of the people living in this 'disputed areas' are recent immigrants. Many from China, Vietnam, etc, etc, that fought very hard to get here and get the property that they now own in the tri-cities area. I think you will have a very hard time taking them away from their land. I am not looking at your history, and I don't care. The past is the past, the future has yet to be written. -

So how is it that you let Kitchener/Waterloo and the other fair-sized cities in your 'granted' zone become so developed in the past 300 years? Treaties or not, agreements or not, I seriously doubt that Kitchener or Waterloo are going to vacate the land for you any time soon. This is the tech capital of Canada, money is pouring into that region... good luck in your plans to win it back, as it seems very much in control of Canadians at this moment. -

So you are admitting that not all the land in Canada is yours? Can you show a map outlining exactly what you believe is Indian land? The maps I have seen so far have been very vague, and as a cartographer I would appreciate something more precise and accurate. I heard the other day that Kingston Road in Toronto is where it is because it used to be an Indian trail to Kingston along the shore of Lake Ontario. If that's true, there must be hundreds of buried Indian land underneith Toronto, Ajax, Oshawa, and every other city between here and Kingston. Why aren't you guys trying to get that land back? I would love to see you protest and attempt to reclaim land at, lets say, Yonge and Bloor for example. About the Caledonia land issue.... please clarify as I have not been there and don't know the geography. Does the land that you claim you own contain existing developments that have been there some time? Or is it only the 40 hectares that a development recently started on? If it includes land that has been developed, why didn't you stop it when that happened? Here is a map to help you: Map of Caledonia area -
What do natives want?
Chuck U. Farlie replied to Charles Anthony's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
Tsi and Okwahu, I looked through the entire first page of links on that google page you mentioned... I found one reference to natives going to New Zealand, and thats all. I did not see any list of 36 countries that honour your passport. I did read that link above, however, about how an american native was not allowed into canada with your passport ... I found it amusing that they took away all of his 'Canadian Identification', when in your guy's words none of you are actually Canadian.... if thats true, then how can any of you have Canadian Identification? Do either of you two have Canadian ID? Such as a health card, passport, driver's license, Ontario Works card, SIN number? Does any of your native status identification have Canada written on it or at the very least a maple leaf???? Will you answer me? Or will you call me a racist and ignore me???? -

You never will get any answers from Tsi or Okwaho, LfC.... these postings are getting very redundant as they don't bother to consider what anyone with a differing opinion than themselves says. They proved that when they refuse to understand our relationship with the Queen of Canada. I wonder why they come on these forums? Likely just to stir up tempers and start fights. You'll also notice that the more sane natives, such as Bluejay, have long since left these arguments behind, and in the same way so have most of the good non-native posters, such as FTA Lawyer et al. I suggest we all leave this crap behind.... we'll never get through to Tsi or Okwaho... just a couple of conceited morons, possibly the same person, with nothing significant to offer. -

How is a 'native' more in touch with 'mother earth' than any other race of human being? After all, we are all the same species and even a product of a native/non-native reproduction is fertile... hence they are not a hybrid (like an ass). I can wipe my ass with leaves too, is that in touch with 'mother earth'? So if 'natives' are 'in touch with Mother Earth', does that mean that Asians are 'in touch with minimizing electronic components', and that whites are 'in touch with colonizing and conquering the world', etc, etc??? Of course I am joking... but it is to show how ridiculous and obviously RACIST your posts are becoming, yet you call everyone else here the racist! You state that 'natives' are significantly different from any other race on this planet - therefor you are the one being racist, as we never claimed that non-natives had gifts or attributes that the natives lacked. -

There might be certain mohawk warriors training some US soldiers in certain skills -- most likely hunting, trapping, and tracking skills -- but how about all of the other skills that these soldiers must learn that come from a wide variety of sources (i.e. jujitsu for hand to hand combat, etc.)? Don't try to pretend that the Mohawk Warrior is used as a know-all war/killing expert - they are used for just the skills that they know best. You're just daydreaming again about your 'Native Superiority'. -
Man jailed for killing girlfriend So this guy, who has a prior for assault with a weapon, gets drunk and kills this woman, and he gets off with 2 years and time served (3.5 years, if full term is served)???!!!!!! And he got off easy "in light of intoxication"??! Thats ridiculous. With that logical I should stay drunk all of the time, that way I can't be held responsible for any F%&$ Ups I might do. Does anyone else think that this is a pathetically weak sentence? Do they really think that this pidley amount of time is going to reform him? 2 years in Kingston will likely just make him a more hardened killer, and then there he is, back on the streets to kill again. What a sorry excuse for a punishment.

What, are you going to sell land to Canadians and then claim you never sold it and ask for it back in 200 years? -
How did they know he was from an allied nation without checking a passport?

Okwahu, why do you care so much about what verses or chapters may or may not have been changed in the bible? It has absolutely nothing to do with this discussion about Native Land Claims, does it? So why are you harping on it? If you have a problem with Christianity, then start a new post down in the religion/morals section... it has no place here. The only thing that has been implied here about Native tradition is that since it is mostly oral history, it cannot be taken as absolute. As an experiment, try this. Think of an original but complex story. Tell it to someone else with the instruction that they must tell it to another person, and that person onwards until 5 people have been told, then the last one retells you. When that person retells you the story, note how much it has changed... that is the problem with oral storytelling... everyone has their own take on it, and 'hearsay' doesn't exactly stand up in a court of law.

I do. From my understanding "Natives" actually came mostly from Asia via the land bridge with some possible mix of European immigrants long before Columbus (although the latter theory is debateable - just saw it on discovery a couple weeks ago). So presuming the archeologists are correct, "Natives" are no more "Originating and living or occurring naturally" in this area than us 'other' Canadians, where-ever our blood may be from. The only difference is that your blood line has been here about 10000 years, mine has been here 60.

Six Nations Crisis- “Canada’s Pandora’s Box?”
Chuck U. Farlie replied to NativeCharm's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
A couple more questions..... why is your website www.sixnations.ca ???? the .ca extension is for Canadian entities. Can't you come up with your own internet extension? Every other country has one. Next, from that website: from the public report and audit pdf (provided by Tsi) From the same PDF: What this tells me is that 22% of your population in 2003 was on welfare (hardly self-sufficient). It tells me you are obviously not a sovereign nation based on the language used. First Nation in Canada implies that it is part of Canada. In comparison, we do not say that Monaco is the biggest country in France because it doesn't make sense. Monaco cannot be in France, but it can be surrounded by France. Just like San Marino can be surrounded by Italy, but is not 'in' Italy - its it's own country. Finally there is the line about those who qualify for Ontario Works... if someone can qualify for Ontario Works then they must be an Ontario citizen or a permanent resident with an address in Ontario... another example of how your claims of sovereignty are baseless. -
Six Nations Crisis- “Canada’s Pandora’s Box?”
Chuck U. Farlie replied to NativeCharm's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Still waiting on your answer on this one Tsi, A couple things to ask you. In one post above you claimed: Yet at the same time you claim that the Six Nations are a sovereign state. If you are sovereign and seperate from Canada, doesn't Canada have every right to prevent non-citizens from coming onto Canadian soil? If you want to be sovereign, despite any past agreements, then maybe we should cut off any money going to the Six Nations, no more tax free status, no more health care, and no more leaving your reserve onto true Canadian soil. Fair enough? Sounds like you want your cake (sovereignty) and eat it too (tax free benefits, education, health care, roads, etc. all from a seperate nation) Now about racism... Years ago I was friends with a native man from somewhere near Brantford. He was living in Stratford working at a factory, and most of his friends were white people. This guy once told me that he was no longer welcome on his reserve because he was adopted and raised by whites, and lived and worked among whites. He said he was called 'a white man in red man skin'. I know that one piece of anecdotal evidence cannot imply that natives are racist, but this anecdote certainly sounds racist to me. -

So what if you try to enter Russia, China, or any of the 200+ countries out there other than USA? Do you use a Canadian passport? Do you tell the immigration officer that you are Canadian? If you do so, aren't you contradicting your beliefs? I do not believe for one minute that you could enter any country other than the USA by claiming you are Haudenosaunee or whatever it is. And I have other news for you... any person of any nationality (other than diplomats) are subject to the laws of the land they are in. If I smuggle drugs into Indonesia, I get the firing squad just like an Indonesian. If you murder someone in Toronto, no doubt you will be tried and sentenced just like I would - therefore you are everybit as subject to Canadian law as anyone else is.
-
If Natives in Canada are indeed sovereign as is stated above, then let me ask this: When you go to a country other than the USA, what passport do you use? If you answer 'a Canadian passport', then in my opinion, and the rest of the world will think that you are Canadian. Seems pretty simple to me.
