Both Islamic terrorists have attacked Israeli targets, and Israeli Mossad terrorists (using Canadian passports) carried out an assasination attack on a Muslim leader. I think Canada should be more careful more in this regards, and should stop backing Israel over using Canadian passports to carry out terrorist attacks.

Like posting on political message boards on the internet about how the 50% of Canadians that have or are having a fun time smoking cannabis should be punished under the law.

It basically boils down to this. If you think alcohol and tobacco should be legal you have no excuse to say that cannabis should be illegal. If you believe tobacco and alcohol should be illegal, then you will be the rare example of a person who opposes cannabis legalization and is actually consistent. Conservatives are a bunch of hypocritical drunks. Their denial is like the denial typical of drunks. They don't realise they have a problem, while blaming everyone else for the things they are guilty of. If there is a drug like alcohol which kills thousands of Canadians every year they don't even consider banning that, because they are addicted to it, while they go off trying violate the rights of peaceful cannabis users, who use a natural herb which doesn't kill any Canadians a year.

That's so ridiculous. My uncle just died from heavy alcoholism at the age of 52. He suffered from hundreds of seizures and had to have blood sucked off his brain many times. He was hospitalized in mental institutes several times due to his alcoholism and had to have it injected so that the withdrawal didn't kill him.

No one is suggesting that kids should be able to buy cannabis, we are saying that adults should be able to smoke and acquire cannabis freely without repercussions, much as is the case with alcohol and tobacco.

I don't think you can grow personal tobacco. You're right. The bill was put forward twice, the first time the government pro-rogued, after pressure from the U.S. government not to pass it. Anyone should be able to grow their own personal tobacco. Organic tobacco is way better than the crap loaded with carcinogens that one buys in the store. Chretien decriminalized cannabis. You could grow up to 6 plants in a household. That was very reasonable. Now the conservatives are trying to slowly make cannabis illegal again. And why? Perhaps they are appealing to the innate authoritarianism amongst their voters?

The Tar sands is a disgrace. It is a stain on Canada. It shows Canadians as ruthlessly greedy, and unconcerned with trashing the very planet we live on. Then to add to that the conservatives commit treason by selling those resources to foreign companies so that they can ruthlessly exploit and trash Canada and receive mass profits by doing so.
