If anyone watches the Wake Up Dead video you will notice how great Dave ellefson's headbanging skills were. watch him and you will know how i used to headbang.
-
Wake Up Dead was a great tune, used to get me fired up. i remember a couple of bullies tried to shake me down for my Peace Sells cassette. Too bad for them they were fat and couldn't run. a hard kick in the nuts stopped them. no one tried to hustle a megadeth cassette from me back in the day.

Respecting the Bible / Ignoring the Bible
socialist replied to msj's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
The loss of faith in Europe is like an unseen black star that still has tremendous gravitational pull. they dont understand why their culture is failing. They dont understand why divorce rates and suicide rates are so high, they don't understand why so few european women have more than one child, and why on most european streets, you see more dogs than children. this is the impact of the death of real Christian belief in Europe. If the West has become a hedonistic de-populating civilization exporting its values of consumerism throughout the world it will cave in and collapse like many civilizations before it and darkness will descend. The God of Hedonism and Sexual Indulgence has given us a world of broken marriages, shattered families, the sestruction of the traditional family, epidemic ten pregnancy, fatherless children and the social dysfunction that accompanies such, and a younger generation addicted to pornography unmoored from sexual sanity. The God of Money, which rules Wall Street and America has delivered the world to a present and future calamity that will cause suffering not seen in at least a century. -
so you admit that canadian cities are very dull. thank you.
-
That's odd. Many european cities are unique and beautiful with interesting architecture. trying getting out more or at least look at some pictures.
-
oh i see. because my views are different than yours you're going to go out of your way to damage me. you are intolerant and can't accept opposing views other than your own.
-
where have you been? if you haven't been coast to coast then you have nothing to add to this topic.
-
^nothing worthwhile to add except manure.
-
I've been to all major Canadian cities. i agree with wyly that only quebec city and halifax offer anything unique. vancouver, edmonton, calgary are boring. regina, saskatoon, and winnipeg are just big prairie dumps with dumb unspohisticated people. ottaw is boring. toronto and montreal are typical. i don't know why people get all upset because us well travelled people think our cities are just big piles of urban blight.

What do you mean I don't support the system; I go to court when I have to.
-
boy are you ever great at making assumptions. what a useless post. where are your facTS?
-
my students will know plenty. the three r's are done in today's 21st century schools. fossils like yourself can't understand that.

Not concerned at all about parents who don't know anything. Why couldn't you reply to the articles I posted about Ontario's reat public education system. You don't like reading things that prove you wrong do you wild bill. You just come up with bs stories about your daughters. you and your daughters should be THANKING their teachers.
-
Here's some articles telling about how good Onatario's education system is. Chew on these Shady, wild Bill, and all you other negative types who think the public system is substandard. Read the articles don't just skim. You guys are out of your element discussing public education with me. You guys have an axe to grind and your lack of knowledge on the subject is embarrassing you. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/national/ontario-school-system-ranks-among-best-in-world-report-says/article567927/ http://www.parisstaronline.com/2011/07/29/ontarios-public-education-system-among-worlds-best http://www.kathleenwynne.ca/News/275?l=EN I'm kind of enjoying putting the fools in their places. If you don't know much about education than maybe you should read before posting nonsense. I have hundreds more articles in the waiting. Chew on these for a while before i embarrass you even more.
-
If what you say is true there would be more talk of it in the media. There isn' so I'm calling BS on your well written fabrication.
-
i don't buy your self pity story. public schools challenge all students of all levels. your claim is ridiculous. i can tell you and wild bill haven't been in a public school in decades. the system isn't like it was back in the 70s and 80s. it's way better now.
-
that is one of the worst ideas i've ever heard. teachers and kids need to be in the classroom.
-
Ontario has one of the best public education systems in the world and you say something silly like that. teachers have a right to demand more.
-
You don't understand public education so you have nothing worthwhile to add to this invigorating discussion. Do you even know about the new teaching methods out there? Or are you one of those dinosaurs stuck on how things were done in the 70s. Which is it?

An article about K-12 calculator usage and how it impacts university. My head is spinning. I'm being pulled in too many directions with regards to math. http://www.math.jhu.edu/~wsw/ED/pubver.pdf
-
Maybe you're onto something. I'm starting to get confused. I find this article confusing. It seems like canada is just doing what failed in the usa 20 years ago. I don't know. http://www.csun.edu/~vcmth00m/96.html http://www.aft.org/pdfs/americaneducator/fall1999/wu.pdf Maybe your right. Maybe there are a lot of teachers who don't know how to teach math so this new stuff is used to hide their weaknesses.
-
ahh yes wyly. your wife didn't understand the new math called discovery math or constructivist math. this new math means letting kids discover math for themselves which generates greater understanding. teachers are more facilitators now with respect to math. we give kids plenty of time to discover their own strategies to understand math. guys like spiderfish, signalscpl, gosthacked, guyser and others are stuck in the old useless, antique styles of math that relies on memory not on understanding. gone are the days of memorizing times tables, doing long division, and doing 3x3 multiplication. it was explained at a presentation that kids don't need these skills anymore because everyone carries a phone that has a calculator. why waste time doing these useless concepts when you could be spending time letting students learn their own strategies. when they learn their own strategies they will never forget. rote is way past its due date. unfortunately not everyone agrees. but more and more people are coming to agree with discovery math. to be fair these people are against discovery math. i disagree with them but i'll post their website just to be fair, something some people on this forum wouldn't understand. http://wisemath.org/

you don't think kids should learn how to use an Ipad? you must have been born in the 20s. get with the times.
-
you really don't know that much so i could care less what you think. YOU ARE UNIMPORTANT.
