Historic presidency perspectives?
America1 replied to Figleaf's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
That's how I guided my vote.....If it were based on say......Idon't know...IQ....he would have fared worse Just wondering, what university did you go to? Dubya went somewhere pretty high up there in the stratosphere and did fairly well. All this nonsense about him being a simpleton is propaganda by bitter lefties and nothing else. I wasn't aware that the University your daddy pays for has any bearing on intellegence. Does that mean someone who went to Oxford is smarter than someone who went to Duke? Is that how it works? For the record Bush got a Bugger All from Yale and then after going awol he got an MBA from the Harvard Busines School. He then traded on the equity of his family name and turned a number of large companies into small ones. Daddy doesn't take the test to keep you in and it surely doesn't give you the ability to beat John Kerry over the course of 4 yrs in GPA (who also went to Yale, so it is an apple to apples comparison) despite him being praised by sooo many liberals as a "very smart guy". Lets get past the very weak talking point that Pres Bush is dumb. -

Woooow, you are so ignorat on this subject its crazy, but,,,, that's a different a story. Well, after you're finished at UBC (a far cry from Yale as universities go by the way). You can stop by Havard for your MBA, then you can debate grades with GWB. -
Canadians insult America (again)
America1 replied to America1's topic in Canada / United States Relations
That is not what the survey asked whether they believed that "Canadians believe U.S. foreign policy was one of the root causes that led to the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks". When given the opportunity to list more than one cause "two-thirds [of Canadians] blamed Islamic fundamentalists and their anti-Western views, while a third pointed the finger at Israel and its position in the Middle East."Saying that the US gov't contributed to the attack because of a misguided foreign policies does not mean that people think the Islamic terrorists are blameless nor does it mean individual Americans are to blame. Furthermore, I am pretty sure that millions of Americans have exactly the same views. Attacking Canadians for expressing opposition to American foreign policy is as pathetic as calling fellow Americans with the same views 'traitors'. These kinds of tactics are nothing but political propaganda by people who want to cover their lies and mistakes by pointing fingers at others. -They did list other reasons,,, as secondary causes. But, when asked for only 1, it was OUR fault. -You're right there are some in the US who think that ALL of the world’s problems are our fault, we call them Liberal/Progressive Democrats and they suffer from "white guilt". But regardless, they are in a HUGE minority. -"They Blame Israel's position in the middle east" - Which one? Their mere existence??? -Please name what misguided American Policy YOU believe caused these pieces of Sh*t to attack us, please be specific. Face it, Canadians have a gigantic inferiority complex with America and Americans, you try to rip us at any chance b/c you think that will somehow make you feel superior but really it makes you look terrily jelous and petty. Face it, Canadians have a gigantic inferiority complex with America and Americans, you try to rip us at any chance b/c you think that will somehow make you feel superior but really it makes you look terrily jelous and petty. For the roughly 40 % of Canadians who support the US in our trying time, again, this is not directed at you. -
Canadians insult America (again)
America1 replied to America1's topic in Canada / United States Relations
Yes, I read the article, lose your condescending attitude smart *ss. Why would you think we believe that we are to blame for radical Islamic fanatics attacking and killing 3,000 of our civilians without warning or provocation? I think we were attacked b/c - We defend Israel's right to exist. - Islamic fundamentalists want to wage a jihad against those who are not Muslim. - Our culture is in contrast to much of what these fundamentalists believe in (we give women equal right, have many progressive ideas and cultural norms compared to these 12 century throw backs, we do business with many of their gvts that they dislike, etc). But mainly, I don't give a flying sh*t b/c none of the reasons justify sneak attacking us without warning on innocent civilians. For Canadians to say it OUR fault for being attacked is pathetic and speaks volumes about Canadians. Once again, Canadians prove that they are not our friends and will use almost any chance to try and rip us. -
Another reason why many Americans are starting to really dislike Canadians, add this one to the ever-growing list of insults. New poll says most Canadians blame U.S. for 9/11 attacks http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/07092006/3/cana...lame-u-s-9.html

America1 replied to Figleaf's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
I find it funny that a bunch of Canadians are polling on “who is a better or worse AMERICAN president”. OUR president's job is to defend and protect AMERICAN interests. Obviously you don't see his strengths b/c in many ways his decisions have been based on AMREICA 1st and the rest of the 2nd (including Canada). History will look back very favorably on Pres Bush in spite of a huge amount of criticism; he stayed true to his job of putting OUR interests over everyone else’s (just as every other country does but only the US gets criticized for it). He is not the Pres of the world no matter how powerful or influential our country maybe. Once people get this fact in their heads they will see why Pres Bush was re-elected by the AMERICAN people. -

Forum rules and guidelines Hahah – you are pretty thick skinned. You throw out insults against America, Americans and especially our military constantly. But, when I call you a baby for reporting someone you cry like a 6 yr old girl who skinned her knee. That speaks volume about your character. -

http://www.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/meast/08/23/...lout/index.html Israel pulled out of the West bank in 2005. So, I'm not sure what you are talking about. I don't rally understand your "Gang takes over my neighbors house" example b/c you must remember that Israel took the land in a war started by the arabs surounding them. So I guess my question is "Who is the "gang" in your example? -

You do realize that Israel gave up the west bank and the entire are it had in Lebanon only to be attacked over and over and over again. Our motivation isn’t “what we get out of supporting Israel”. It is that we are loyal to our friends and to those who are attacked by terrorist gangs (unlike most of Europe and unfortunately liberal Canadians). You mean they gave up what they illegaly occupied in the first place right?? How it was "illegally" occupied? But regardless of your logic, they gave it up and still have been attacked over and over again since then. -

What "Arab republic"? To put forth the idea that Bush had ANTHING to do with 9-11 proves you are out of your damn mind!

In short, if you believe the crap your are putting out, you are beyond stupid. Bush will not postpone or run again NO ONE is even coming close to thinking he will. Please go back to your basement where you think this sh*t up.

Senate Passes Stem Cell Bill
America1 replied to jdobbin's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
I don't know how it will affect the election, many republicans supported the bill. If americans are smart they won't vote for those who voted against the bill. I can't believe bush is going to veto it, it just doesn't make sense to me. It does make sense. 1st, to make things clear, the issue is about EMBROYONIC Stem cells, not all stem cells, and their need to destroy an embryo to conduct research, research that hasn't really produced any viable results (unlike adult stem cells) yet (could be a key word). This too some; is killing a form of life in order to "possibly" find a future cure. Others just feel that the gvt doesn't need to in the business of funding programs that could be funded by the private sector. You know the whole "if there is a market for stem cell research then the market will pay for it to be created/researched". -

DIGGING INTO GUANTANAMO: Kidnapping and deporting Civilians to Guantanamo Check your facts before spouting off. Shooting innocent people is a great idea! hhahaha - could you find weaker sources to back up your "facts"? Innocent my foot (is that better?)! They haven't been given a "trial” but they have been through several layers of military tribunals (as done in previous wars) and guess what they found?!? Guilty, obviously some more than others but still far from a gang off innocent farms and what not. Face it, these people are not nice and were not just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Plus, we’re not in the business of giving people a free ride on our $, that’s what socialist in Europe and Canada do . -

People say the US is a dictatorship now. After all, with a signing statement Bush can excuse himself from any law. I would not make that claim, because I think it is partisan nonsense. On what do you base your assurtion that Russia is now a dictatorship as of several years ago? Who says the US is a dictatorship? Please, provide names. Why-you going to pick them up and ship them off to Guantanamo Bay? 1.) I don't agree with keeping people in GITMO, I think after we interrogated them, they should have been shot or hung for being non-uniformed combatants (just like they did in WWI and WWII). GITMO is an expense I don't think is needed. 2.) I asked b/c there are no sane people who think or has said that the US is a dictatorship. Basically, I think his post was full of sh*t and I felt like calling him on it. Since I haven't noticed any names or links put forth, looks like I was right. Do you have anymore moronic pseudo-question or is that it for now? -

Gonna have to call bullshit on this one. Rape is one of the most underreported crime here in North America. Now, how eager would any Muslim woman be to step forward given a) Islamic societies' general disdain for rape victims, and the fact that being raped by members of an occupying army isn't exactly something you saunter down to the local police station to report (assuming you survive the assault). IOW, knowing what we know about rape in general and that particular crime during war, it's highly probable that crimes like the one currently under investigation are the tip of the iceberg. Point A.) - Like Rape is something women in NA don't have issues with reporting? Your point is not going to skew the %'s to any real extent. That doesn't even count the possible false accusations that the anti-American elements would love to get out into the press. Point B.) - I must be missing your point, what is it that you think would happen if an Iraq woman did go to the police station and reported a rape against an American soldier? Are you implying someone (an American soldier specifically) is going to kill her or something?

N. Korea Reportedly Launches 4 Missiles
America1 replied to Shady's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Newsflash! Reckless government spending now okay by conservatives! Film at 11. Even if it doesn't work, at very least it furthers scientific and engineering R&D. Large projects like this one almost always push the envelop and produce new military civilian products (i.e.: microwave, internet, cell phones, GPS, etc). So how is this a "Reckless" again? -

America1 replied to Shady's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Look dingus, if you want your government to keep shovelling buckets of taxpayer money to Lockeed and Rayethon to line their shareholders' pockets and produce a dodgy "solution" to a non-existent problem, go right ahead. No sweat off my balls. "Dingus" - oh no, take it back, please!!! (dripping with sarcasm). Honestly, is that the best you can come up with? You f’en nerd! There are 2 possible outcomes from the program. 1.) If you are right and it doesn't work, fine so be it. I'd rather spend the money on science and engineering possibilities that support US companies and provide hundreds of thousand s of jobs in the US then give it away on a social program to those who don't produce anything. 2.) If it does work, the US is safe from incoming ICBMs, make us 1 step in front of the world and safer as a nation. At the same time still providing hundreds of thousand s of jobs in the US. Either way, I think we come out on top. As far as the "No sweat off my balls" comment, I know its not and I don't give a flying sh*t. This proves yet again why the US’s “Can do attitude” make us the GREATEST NATION ON THE EARTH! And unfortunately, your attitude is what keeps canada and europe behind the US. -
N. Korea Reportedly Launches 4 Missiles
America1 replied to Shady's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
The underlying assumption here is that missile defence can work. And maybe it can. But is it the best solution? Eh...not so much. Given the minimal threat posed by "tin-pt dictators" and accidental launches, plus the availability of other proven strategies like containment and deterrence makes missile defence an extravagant white elephant, a massive welfare scheme. Typical liberal canadian comment, bitching about how others spend their money and whining about how difficult things are so it is just not worth doing. When we do get it working, the rest of the world will cry about how it's not fair and that we should give them the tech to make things "Fair".
