Marriage rates are down in our nation, divorce is common, why was it not life this fifty years ago? The women said that pursuing a rigorous college education was worth the time and money because it would help position them to work in meaningful part-time jobs when their children are young or to attain good jobs when their children leave home. Their expectation are not logical at all. Some of them will not even get married, another half will be divorced. Many of them are going to be forced to work full time anyway. Most marriages now happen at age 27 anyway. They are not just going to be able to pick and choose when they want to work, and what jobs they want to work at, and be able to take time out when they want at a high level career. Like I said, half of them are going to end up being single parents with kids, and working full time. Their view are unrealistic. I don't understand, doesen't a woman know that when she has sex (protected or unprotected) there is a chance she will become pregnant? Just as a man knows if he has sex, and a women becomes pregnant he will have to pay child support. Isn't there any amount of fariness in this issue. Doesn't a woman realize, that in reality, by killing the baby (fetus, whatever), giving the baby up for adoption, or killing it herself, all she is really doing is doing away with responsibilities that she created. Unlike a man, who must face the responisbility of supporting a child if the women chooses to have it- being forced to owe up to responsibility. Why does a women get to just cop out of something that she did, while the man cannot. I think they should make abortion illegal, as they make a father pay child support. End result, more responsibility on the part of the mother, because she will be forced to take responsibility for her actions- end reslut- less premerital sex, less promisquiety before marriage, more committments, better families and more responsible behavior

I just came back to post something after reading some of the previous posts on this site about that little post that I wrote. I just wanted to get some stuff off my chest, some in response to earler posts. It is true that society is greatly effected by the way that males and females go to school together, have careers, and interact on an independent and equal standing. If you look at any data in the United States you will find that outcomes in our society show us this every day. For instance, there are fewer marriages in our country every year, nearly twice as many houses with a single mother leading, violence against women has increased, marriages happen later in life, relationships in general (especially in college) have come down to just random hook-ups with really no aspect of courtshipand dating, marriages are harder to keep and don't last as long, there is honestly more bitterness between the sexes, there is more crime and deviant behavior amonst young kids, more people depressed and in poverty, and possibly this effects our nation entirely. I mean, how many times do you turn on the news and hear about how some kid did something crazy (shoot someone, hurt someone, have premerital sex, commit suicide, commit a crime, eccctttt.). Its true, these kindof things go on in record numbers in our society. Isn't it just common knowledge to know that if there more dual parent households, there would be more income, more stability for the kids, better discipline and an overall fuller up bringing. The fact is youth is the most important part of any developing country, and our youth is as troubled today, more than ever before. And yes, fifty years ago alot of these problems did not exist. I am not saying it is all due to the fact that women in men are totally independent, but it does contribute. I mean fifty or sixty years ago, was the divorce rate this high? Where there more houses led by two parents? Was thier as many crazy crimes going on? Weren't relationships more on a equal footing, and easier to sustain? And as a result, wasn't our society, over all more moral and concentrated on maintaing traditional family values?

Women do have alot of expectation in our society that are oppresive to them, and that they do not deserve, and sometimes they are treated unfairly. Though, I still hold to what I think. I do think that it is hard to find a women with good character- it is a rartity. I am not saying this because I am bitter or angry, am just saying it because I beleive that it is true

I guess your life turned out ok, even though it really doesn't seem like you were carefully planning for your future. By the way, did you actually marry the guy you are with now, or do you just want to spend your life with him. Also, I personally think having children out of wedlock is irresponsible. I know of and hear of millions of moms who do this who end up barely being able to support themselves and thier kid, not giving the kid all the attention and nurturing he needs (bc does not have a dad) and often time the kid and the parent are miserable. I also find that many single parent (more often women) who have to take care of thier kid or kids are overly stressed, and are underpaid at work. In my opinion due to the breakdown of the traditional family in the U.S our society does not bring kids and adults up as well as we use to. I mean how many times do we hear on the news or see a miserbale divorce, a kid being violent at school, A rape by a teacher at school, kids getting into drugs, a murder, homosexual -lesbian households (am not really for this) and other terrible things that go on in our society. Living a responsible life and bringing a kid into a high income two parent family is important in our society.

I am not really thinking about mating for life. And I can and do get laid relatively often. Its not a power trip for me either, its called being horney. Sorry for the brute honesty. The main thing is, I just want to meet a girl who is good hearted, so it can be a real freindship. Hookups get old, and they just serve to accomplish physical needs. I do, however think about my future, and I think it is smart too. I dont want to be one of the millions who hit a mid life crisis when thier 25 single, internet dating phone dating, in a dead end job, and really just unfulfilled. It is hard to respect Islam even as a religion now days. I know there are some moderate beleivers out there who have relatively rationabl beleifs. But when you have entire countries that are predomanitly Islamic constantly fighting, and blowing themselves and others up, it is just ridiculous. A whole nation of people become outraged by a simple cartoon, and think it is ok to kill people of different faiths, and eachother. Utterly ridiculous. If the doctrine (Koran) was truly sound, it would not have brainwashed people this bad all the way into the 21st century

I know that I am going to get blasted by this, especially by women, but I really beleive thtat women are just totally irrational human beings. I guess you are right, there are millions of weman who really don't care about having a family or husband, there are very few weman who are really bitter, if any at all. I am a little unfullfilled in some aspects of my life, but it is none the less true that I think that most woman would want to be married. The example that I gave about so many woman spending money on that kind of education, and putting countless hours in studying, and then being mothers really is ligitimant proof that there are millions of woman who really want a family and motherhood. Why in the world would you spend seven or eight years of your life working torwards something, and then right when you get the chance to finally pursue your profession you never even begin, not to mention the amound of loans that the have to pay off. Sorry, but this really is very real proof, but for some reason you really will not admit that millions of woman desire a family and a husband.... I dont know why. My bad, I honestly did not mean to type woman wrong. However, it is impossible to deny that there are alot of single woman out there who want to start families. I have plenty of freinds who have openly admitted this. Also, it is logical that if woman are spending money trying to meet other men, it means that they seek a meaningful relationship. And often, meaningful relationships lead to marriage. Also, if weman do not want to start a family, why are there so many weman who are looking to adoption, or other ways to have a family as a last result to having a family. Come on, everyone knows that woman apprecaite a family and a partner. Other proof of this is the fact, that millions of woman who go to prestigous universities set thier career path to mother hood. Even woman coming of out medical school and law school. If you are going to spend that much money on education, and then pursue motherhood, that is telling you something about the priorities of alot of woman. Honestly, there would not be so much bitterness towards men in our society either, if weman were totallly fullfilled. Come on, you know this is true.

These were just some thoughts on the issues that I spoke about above, I did no know it would strike such a huge arousal in people. That shows me that I am not the only one who ponders on these issues. And for the record, I do think that weman who are single really desire to be married. I am currently in college and live in a college town. Go to any bar around our campus and you will see more miny skirts, high heels, tossing of blond hair, batting of eyelashes and anything else that will draw attention. Also people are spending more money on dating corporations than they are on food sometimes. Think how many internet sites are filled with millions of personals. I mean this does keep dr. Phil in buissness, but it is aparent that there are millions of people in our society who are looking for thier soul mate

The point of my discussion was not to address womans problems. If you would have read it closely you could have seen that I discussed problems that males have in society also. I adressed the relationship that men and woman often have in society, and pointed out why relationships are often straighned. The point was not to analyze only the problems weman have in society. I was just saying this because there are more females going to college now days, and the numbers are increasing every year, while the number of males going to college is decreasing every year.
